If you’re in the mood for tough microwave reheated ribs Gene’s is the place for you. I’ve seen cleaner garbage dumps and I didn’t see any kind of license in the place. No sales tax, no food handlers, nothing of the sort. Seems that sadly enough many «soul food» places are more in the vein of «sole» food as in eating the bottom of someone’s shoe and Gene’s is a great representative of that vein. Maybe one day they will say last rites on this place and put it out of our misery.
