Review based upon sitting at the bar and an an appetizer. We were helped by the bartender whose name was Zach. He was a pleasure: attentive, talkative but not overly hovering. We came early for a dinner reservation next door, and decided to have an appetizer. I’m gluten free and Zach more than gladly went to ask the chef to make sure that what we ordered I could eat. We ended up having the spinach dip which was served hot. I’ve never had spinach dip served warm before, but it was actually very good. The bonus is that they serve it along with their homemade chips. So, I could actually dip, which was nice. Zac did pour a proper Guinness which was nice and the atmosphere was lovely. I would comment that a lady at the bar ordered the chicken wings, and they looked phenomenal. Hubby and I are determined to return and try those. After dinner, we actually came back for a couple more cocktails with our dinner group.

Just had a great Eve of Christmas Eve Dunch(combination of dinner and lunch) at Lynch ’ s in Port Huron. Highly recommend it for both quality and quantity of food. Scotch egg appetizer was amazing. Dad really enjoyed his potato pancakes with corned beef etc. For an Irish pub/restaurant, the pasta is equally tasty! And if you want attentive service, we highly recommend Suzanne. she is the epitome of a great brand ambassador for this fun place!

Okay. The bar is great. If I go to a bar, this is the one. I don’t care much for the drinks made anyplace else. It isn’t just because they like me, either. No, they’ll get anyone drunk at a good price. Pat is phenomenal, and brings a lot to the table for this establishment. If you don’t know Pat, meet Pat. I haven’t been able to bring myself to come into contact with a waitress again. Dat bar, tho.

Food was good. Service was embarrassing. The waitress, haley left us with our food for over 20 minutes. I ended up asking the hostess to grab her for us. Once the check was dropped she came to the table 4 times to try to take the check up. She should have come to check on us that many times when she dropped the food at our table. Let me mention we were 1 of 3 tables occupied so she wasn’t slammed. She needs some more server training. Looked like the bartender was very attentive to his guests, we should have sat at the bar.

The best parts of this bar are the beer selection and the bartenders. Beers are served at the perfect temperature with tap takeovers every so often. It meets my cicerone tastes. I always prefer to sit at the bar because the bartenders are superb with the service compared to sitting at a table to be waited on. The best food honestly is the bar appetizers which are hard to mess up on and the honey mustard sauce. Pretty good live entertainment as well.

My family stopped for an early dinner yesterday, and the service was delightful. Not only was it Valentine’s Day, it was also my step-daughter’s birthday. Each of us ladies were given a red rose for V-Day, and my step-daughter was given a free(delicious) dessert. The server even made my girls Shirley Temples, and they were very excited to have such pretty cocktails. We have always enjoyed our food at Lynch’s, but the service was exceptional this time as well.

Horrible food, and the bathrooms are a must see. The management here just said: «yeah, that’s an issue that we are trying to fix.» Totally disgusting but you be the judge!

So, our hopes were high when we went to Lynch’s… My fiancé is Irish-American and loves anything and everything potato-and/or-cabbage. We came in the back door to find a «Please Wait to be Seated,» sign. So, you know– we did… and we waited. And waited. Finally I purposely positioned myself in front of the sign within clear view of the waitstaff making their rounds, only to be told to find a seat. So, we sat in one of the covered booths because it was date night and I’ve always liked a covered booth. Mistake. There’s just over a foot of clearance between the edge of the table and the backrest of the booth. I’m short and busty, so I immediately felt really claustrophobic, but my fiancé was already admiring the woodwork and getting excited that they actually had malt vinegar, so I decided to suck it up. We were asked what we would like to drink, and I expressly said, «Water, for now,» as I reached for the beer list. However, nobody asked us it we would like any other drinks, so we didn’t order anything. My fiancé just shrugged it off and said, «Meh, it’s their loss.» We had the Scotch Eggs for a starter, which were somewhat disappointing. They were a little on the dry side, which was something of a shame. My fiancé ordered a Guinness burger… He figured it’d be a safe bet since it’s a house specialty. I ordered the Roast Pork and Colcannon… colcannon is one of my favorite sides, so I was really looking forward to it… also, it came with the option of a soup or salad. I elected to try the potato and leek soup. Well, this particular potato leek soup was a brothy version, not a creamy version… it was okay. The broth was somewhat bracing after having come in from the cold, but I wasn’t wowed. Also, my soup came at the same time as the Scotch Eggs, which left me feeling like I had to pick between hot Scotch eggs or hot soup. When our entrees came, I was pleased to see the generous portions. My fiancé liked the look of his burger. We dug in. He tends to eat all his fries before eating his burger, so I was pretty far into my entrée before he took a bite to find that his burger was cooked unevenly, and mostly medium-rare. We actually looked at it under the light from outside the booth, just to be sure the colored glass on the lamp above us wasn’t giving it a slightly redder tint. He hadn’t been asked how he wanted his burger cooked, and generally when that happens, he expects a medium-well to well-done burger. So, even though he was hungry enough to eat the whole burger, he didn’t. The waitress, who never offered to refill our water glasses, quipped when she asked us if we wanted any dessert if he wanted to eat any more of his burger. For my part, I was underwhelmed, but not put-off by my entrée, although the veggies tasted like frozen veggies that had just been steamed, and the cabbage in the colcannon was a bit over-cooked and got lost amidst the potatoes. Overall, the food was«meh.» The service was«meh.» The ambiance was okay, but the very generous table made us feel crowded when we should have felt like we had more than enough space to ourselves. Really, the best part of the meal was the Andes mints at the end. We wanted to like Lynch’s. We really, really did. But it just didn’t do it for us… Maybe if we’d been there for drinks and apps it may have been better, but for a sit-down meal on date night, notsomuch. Plus, they missed out on making more money from us simply by failing to ask us if we’d like to place a drink order after we’d had a minute to look at the menu. Seems like an oversight. We left a decent tip, even if we weren’t impressed with the service, because we’ve both worked in restaurants and don’t believe in stiffing a server, even if the service sucks. We didn’t complain about the undercooked burger at the time because by the time it came to our attention, the waitress had already done her single, «How is everything?» walk by and she didn’t come back to us until I expressly slid my plate to the outside edge of the table. We won’t be returning to Lynch’s.

Honestly, I’ve been to a fair amount of restaurants and this place has, by far, the worst service and food. I’ve been here twice because friends enjoy the atmosphere and ill admit the wood is easy on the eyes but the food is trash, the waitstaff is miserable and the portions are laughable. Ill never return to lynches if I can help it. Sorry.

I have been here several times and the food is fantastic. The Reason I’m only giving them 3 stars is the service is usually pretty subpar. The last time I was there our waitress took it upon herself to add extra money to her tip on my credit card and I didn’t realize it until later. It was only I few dollars but it will make me Leary about going back.

The food here was terrible. I am not sure who the cook(I would not call them a Chef) is, but they really need to look up a potato pancake recipe, Frozen hash browns with some bacon bits and cheese is not a potato pancake. The cost for three of these hash brown patties with Corned Beef and Cabbage side that was just okay was $ 11.99. I could have made that at home for under $ 5.00. This was our first and last time here. Very disappointing.

Second time there and we really like this place. Went there for an early dinner on Sat. 3:00. Tables were plentiful. We had a waiter/manager talk to us almost immediately and help with his knowledge of the beers. We had the Irish Nachos for an appetizer. Really good but make it a have order they’ll really fill you up. I had the Potato Pancakes.(Awesome !) 3 fresh shredded potato cakes stuffed with cheese, onion and bacon. Crispy golden brown on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside. A side dish of diced Corned Beef over an non-spiced cabbage. I could add my own S&P which I prefer. A cup of Potato leek soup that was a meal in itself. My friend had the Fish & Chips with stake fries and a side salad.(said it was better then good) Although his 2.50 glass of Ginger ale was very watered down. Just order water. I had an Irish Cream Ale. Really good. There was no music so we could talk comfortably and as we were getting ready to go the place started to fill up but the extra staff also arrived. Total bill was $ 40 but we were stuffed and I took allot home with me. We will be stopping by often and will recommend this place to everyone.

Love just hanging out and having drinks here. Food has been pretty awesome too. Live music can be a little loud at times so we usually go for a table in the back. By far one of my favorite places to go in downtown.

Food is hit or miss. The first time I visited with my parents and had the Guinness burger. It was great. The second time I went with my husband and got the Shepherd’s pie. The inside was frozen. They took it back and likely nuked it. It was nice though, made with lamb instead of hamburger.

After three visits over a span of 2 years, it’s time for a review. I have only ever drank here and here’s my take on this«Irish tavern» My 1st visit was the best b/c we(party of 4) sat at the bar and the bartender seemed to have a good handle of the crowd– I enjoyed my glass of wine Visit # 2 my friend and I went for wine and would have loved to have two glasses but the waiter never came back to ask if we were doing okay or wanted anything else– just showed up w/the bill Visit # 3 was 2÷9÷14 around 7– the server had absolutely no personality and she was clearly not suited to be dealing w/the public that evening. She was snippy whenever my boyfriend tried to joke w/her and didn’t smile– not even once– too bad her sour attitude affected her tip. Are people really that stupid to think that you can treat customers(who tip nicely) crappy and expect a good tip? The only redeeming qualities were that my boyfriend ordered the Irish nachos and liked them, my glass of wine was good and the others in the party liked their beers. I’m big on customer service and it is non existent here. Have no desire to return. I’ve been to Ireland– Lynch’s is nowhere near an Irish tavern– nope, not even close

What a beautiful atmosphere and re-model job. There was quite a crowd for a one o’clock Wednesday lunch downtown. They were busy and it took a while for a waitress to notice us, but when she did she was very friendly and apolegetic. The music was too loud for lunch chit chat with my mom and our friend. We had to holler a bit to hear each other. I understand loud music for the night time bar crowd, but appreciate a quieter level for lunch. I hope they will adjust that. I ordered the Corned Beef and Cabbage and a cup of the Potato-Leek Soup. The soup arrived in a coffee mug and was very hot and tasty. The broth was easy to sip from the mug after the potato slices were gone. It warmed me up. My meal arrived with thinly sliced corned beef on top of cabbage pieces. It came with sliced carrots on the side… MASSIVE sliced carrots on the side. I don’t know if they always serve them like these… but these carrots were BIG. They were sweet and cooked just right. I enjoyed the carrots most of all actually. The Corned Beef and Cabbage was kind of bland. Not much seasoning at all. I’m probably just partial to my own way of cooking it. Low and slow in the oven with plenty of spices. If I decide to head back for more soup and carrots someday, I’ll probably try something else to go with them.
