Good bar, decent service, but bad clientele, got ambushed by regulars and felt very uncomfortable, bartender was M.i.a and did not care that regulars were ambushing and harassing us ladies from out of town. The only thing good was the 2 dollar blue moons.

I don’t know how this place has as many stars as it does. If I could give it 0 stars I would, it is the most disgusting place I have ever been. My husband and I have tried this place out on two separate occasions. The first was over a year ago with my brother-in-law. The shot«girl» was an old pregnant woman(at least 8 months preggers)!! What kind of place has an [extremely] pregnant woman serving shots at 1am in the morning? I get everyone’s gotta make a buck, but c’mon that’s just wrong on so many levels. Saying the crowd was obnoxious, would be an understatement. People get loud and rowdy when they drink, but it was well beyond that point. The girls there were straight up hitting on my husband, paying no mind to the fact that I was standing right next to him(holding hands none the less). My brother-in-law, who had just recently tuned 21 pointed out that all the girls there looked REALLY young, like WAYYY underage young. I suppose that’s why they were hitting on my husband while I was right there beside him. When we tried to get a drink at the bar, we waited for at least 10 minutes before we decided to finally just leave. No one even acknowledged that we were standing there waiting, let alone made eye contact with us. We felt blatantly ignored! Our most recent experience at this place was no better. We were with another couple at a bar across the street that had just closed for the night, so we figured we’d stop there and give it another try. Ugh, it was even worse. The band that was playing was terrible, and the sound system was no better. The feedback from speakers was deafening. We should have stopped there at the door, but for some reason we preceded to go in. I handed my id to the bouncer who didn’t even check the date(located on the back of my id). He glanced at the front of it briefly and handed it back. Now, I’m no longer 21, but I’m not far from it, and I always get carded no matter where I am. This of course didn’t take me by surprise, having seen the crowd that was here in our last visit. As soon as we walked in, the shot girl approached my husband and asked if he wanted a shot. He politely declined. My friend and I visited the restroom, and when we returned to our husbands, the shot girl interrupted our conversation(about how quickly we could escape that place), and asked my husband if his lady wanted a shot. He again politely told her that we were not interested in shots. The girl then rolled her eyes, gave him quite a dirty look and stomped away. At that, we decided to leave. Once outside,(and able to speak without yelling), my husband told me that she had approached him an additional time while we were using the restroom. I just don’t understand. Is harassing your customers a new fad or something because I’m pretty sure 3x within 5 minutes teeters on the line of harassment. Well yea, I suppose it’s obvious that I could go on forever about how crappy of a place this is. But because I’ve already droned on for much too long I will end this review. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this place. It’s dirty, filled with underaged girls, and very rude employees. To say that this place is a hole in the wall, would be to say that a Kia is a Bugatti.

Visiting the Roche(don’t try to church it up son!) was an experience. My counterpart and I have traveled the world hitting up the classic dive at every turn, this place doesn’t fit. The Roche belongs South of the Mason Dixon or in Michigan’s UP. There was more novelty foods behind the bar than most places have food on a menu. I almost ate my dinner one booze soaked cherry at a time, but I was afraid that he would knock over the cigarettes as he tried to get me one. Seriously though, this place does take the cake for dives. The bartender was super nice, even the chocolate lab that met us at the door was friendly. There was a good selection of beers on tap, this came as no surprise since we soon discovered that we were in Hipster Central.(Prolly the only two dudes around not sporting a murse and scarf) This bar is one that I think Id revisit with the boys, anyone that doesn’t really need to wash there hands after the bathroom!

This bar has been around since 1904, under the same family, in the same place. One of the best places in Southeast Michigan for live music, drink prices are awesome and if your hear for St. Patrick’s Day, you’ll think your in Dublin. The quintessential Longshoreman’s/ Dive Bar. Nice to know old school places like this still exist in the 21st Century.

Port Huron classic dive bar. Great staff. The owner even cleaned up puke himself — good man! Doesn’t make his employees do it! Haha Cheap beer with some nicer ones on tap. Don’t recommend getting mixed drinks here. Overpriced for what you get!

It’s a staple of the bar scene and a must visit but cash only and stinky nasty bathrooms keep it a 3

I’m so upset i hadn’t visited this dive before now! It is pretty close to Gusoline Alley in Royal Oak(as far as atmosphere goes). A very chill and friendly crowd as well as friendly service. If you’re alone and bored in Port Huron, I think this is the place to come to hang out with some pretty interesting people. And $ 2 shots. REALLY?! That’s ridiculously cheap. I’m in love!

Whenever I’m home I make a point to stop in here for a beer or seven! It’s a great spot for some cheap drinks and some good people. Typically have live music and it’s not too far from the other bars in downtown PoHo!
