Excellent food! A bit pricey, but many of their dishes are unique, and the desserts are it of this world! You won’t be disappointed, but be prepared for a heavy bill!

Very disappointing. Went yesterday simply for drinks with brother and parents, the hostess took 2 phone calls in front of us clearly knowing we were there, not even a,“hi, i’ll be with you shortly”. After a couple mins she acknowledged us and here’s the conversation… Hostess– hi we only have seafood…”(–_-) Me — no problem, can we grab a seat outside? Hostess — sure, someone didn’t show up so there’s seats available. Me — ok great, we’re just doing drinks. Hostess — oh. you can’t. Seating outside is for dinner only… you can sit at the bar. Me — oh. Alright. Now here’s the fun part, sit at the bar for about 10 mins and out of the 3 girls that popped in and out. Not a single one said a word to us or even acknowledged we were there. Needless to say after almost ½ hour being there, we walked out with nothing. Well sucks for them considering we went to another spot about 100ft away and spent a little over $ 150 on drinks alone(which I’ll guarantee was more than what ½ the families outside spent on dinner). Probably would have spent a little more here since the drinks are a couple bucks more.

I have never in my life had such a bad experience in a restaurant. Last night I went to La Parrilla for a bachelorette party with 10 other guests. Admittedly, we arrived 15⁄20 minutes late to our reservation b/c of parking but we were all seated by the time the first rounds of drinks were served at 8 pm and our orders were taken at 8:15. That was the last we saw of the wait staff until 9:15 when one of the guests went to the bar for a drink. No food or drinks arrived until 9:30pm. No chips or snacks were placed on the table, no fresh water poured, In fact my seltzer glass remained empty the whole night. When I explained to the manager how upset we were, the poor bachelorette was apologizing to her guests) she said well it takes an hour to cook the food(6 out of 10 meals were cold salads). She blamed us being late(even though we ordered our food all at the same time) and refused to comp anything but two pitchers of Sangria. She never apologized to the table and did not come over to the table until 9:50pm. The food finally started showing up in drips and drabs around 9:40 after I threatened to order pizza delivery to the table. A waitress from somewhere else in the restaurant(not our original waiter) was the only one who took responsibility and tried to please the table by helping out. They eventually agreed to comp a $ 12 meal on top of the Sangria pitchers. Wow Thanks A bunch. The food was Eh.

Visited them on Father’s Day. Very slow service, seems they are under staffed. Waitress was very apologetic and explained 4 staff members called out for the day. Did not have original plate I asked for because«they are closed on Monday.» Family next to us left before meal came out due to slow service. Accommodating with reservations, offered to hold a table even though it is first come first serve for the outdoor tables. Outside lacks shade and can get uncomfortable during hot days. Food quality is great but portions are small. Mango sangria tastes great but lacks alcohol.

A great restaurant with a lot of interesting menu options. Food here is on the expensive side of «$$», but portions are fair and the dishes are generally quite complex. The restaurant itself is nestled nicely in Port Jeff and has seating, both indoor and outdoor, in spades. The service is a little inconsistent, however, which can be a detriment if you’re going for tapas or drinks.

Love this place! Food was excellent! The staff was awesome! Very attentive and made sure that we were well taken care of. There was a large party in the other room and the staff explained that we might experience some delays. I do recommend that in these cases, that a drink on the house, a small appetizer or something is offered to the patrons who experience delays in service. Though we would have declined, I know these gestures go a long way with repeat customers. We will return and hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be able to dine outside.

Delicious! Food portions were more than enough and presentation was beautiful! Loved that we got in exactly at our reserved time and were not rushed at all. Will definitely visit again!

Loved the old restaurant that was at this location and wanted to see if this place would hold up. Unfortunately it doesn’t. They cleaned the place up nicely and rose the prices; however the food was not up to par. Fish dishes were ok, but nothing memorable and the mix of Spanish and Mexican dishes doesn’t work well. Location is fine, but this is no longer a hidden gem in Port Jefferson.

Very disappointing meal here at this replacement of the much missed Costa de España. The friendly host sat us in the unbearably hot dining room. They were blasting the heat which made dining here very uncomfortable. The menu is more Latin American than Spanish. Ordered a glass of Merlot to start. Took one sip and sent it back. It must’ve turned to vinegar so ordered the Rioja instead. Ordered the tilapia al ajillo which was terrible. The fish was not at all fresh and the garlic sauce lacked any flavor. Had huge chunks of garlic slices in it that were over cooked and thus made the flavor vanish. It was served with Spanish potatoes which I assumed were batatas bravas. Nope, plain boiled potatoes. The yellow rice was also bland. The grouper was nicely cooked but the salsa verde was bland. Couldn’t finish my entrée so I left unfulfilled and out $ 75. Not going to return unfortunately, it was a major let down. Service however, was friendly even though the server didn’t bring us water.

My fiancé and have gone here a couple of times already and would not mind going again. The service is much better than the other Spanish food restaurants we have been going to in Suffolk County which is something we value a lot. Our server was attentive, helpful, and made it easy to tip her. As for the food, I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. I have had better food at other Spanish restaurants on occasion, however my steak was cooked nicely and not dried out, the rice was ok, and the sweet plantains were good so I would not complain about my food. My fiancé was very pleased with his dish, said the chicken was robust and tender. The pricing here is pretty average in comparison to other restaurants in the town of Port Jefferson. Yes, you could probably order something similar for less money elsewhere but in my opinion, getting good service, not ambience, and good food is more important.

We’ve had some wonderful meals here; reasonably priced, nice variety, Estrella on tap, happy hour tapas or dinners with a wonderful flan. Summertime views of Port Jefferson harbor. Seafood is particularly good, especially as paella or over pasta. Hard to go wrong here.

La Parrilla… I was pleasantly surprised. The meal and service started out rocky, but the food was *outstanding*. Seriously good Spanish food. The margaritas were dangerous; easy drinking, but packed with tequila. I came with a group of 10 and we all had different things. The paella was an unbelievable amount of food. Get the paella if you’re hungry, but it’s more than enough for 2 to share, or for you to take home a doggy bag for another meal or two. The fajitas were great, really everything was great. A ton of flavor in the food. Great service too. I was a big fan of La Parrilla and would consider making the trip to Port Jefferson just to eat here again.

I came here for an interview dinner and it was delicious! La Parrilla had set up a room in the back of the restaurant for all of us to sit at. It was very cozy, but also elegant and had a fancy flair. I ordered their paella, which was soooo delicious and the portions were ENORMOUS — I was filled to the brim and still could not finish. They are very generous with their portions of seafood — there was more than enough mussels lining the plate, bits of fish, crab, and shrimp. The rice was seasoned well. The last time I had paella was in Barcelona, and I’d say that their paella really rivals its’ authentic counterpart. Service was great & waitresses were attentive. Definitely recommend to anyone craving Spanish food.

Sitting outside on a warm summer evening is about as good as it gets in Port Jeff, and La Parrilla is the place to do it! If you can find parking in the lot nearby, more power to ya — likely you will have to walk, and may have to walk FAR to get here. Drinking one of their sangrias on the deck is a definite pleasure that one even may feel like they deserve after an unexpectedly long trek. Inside, large windows keep the view in sight throughout the meal. The restaurant has an open feel to it, while remaining upscale and relaxed. I had ordered a Chilean Sea Bass(I know, not likely what I got) which was cooked nicely, but it also had shrimp on it which I did not order(nor was mentioned when the dish described). The fish was served with a standard brown sauce, and lacked any real distinctive flavor to be honest. The side of mixed vegetables and rice was also completely uninspired and did not match up to the high price point demanded by the restaurant. Sorry guys, you know it doesn’t compare when you just steam some vegetables and plate them. Great, a huge stalk of broccoli… Maybe get some crispy rice going? Jazz up the vegetable program please. You’re lucky we also got the steak, La Parrilla. Seriously, it felt like all the flavor that was lacking in the fish plate was present in the steak one. And it was some great(skirt) steak. From the looks of things, I guess I just got one of the rare«misses» on their menu, but I would come back for the steak — and that view for sure.

I love Spanish food. I didn’t love this. We did a bunch of apps(no entrees) Also ordered a few mojitos(very very very strong: hiccup:) Did the fried olives — 1 or 2 were enough — they were so damn salty Garlic shrimp? too much thickening agent in the sauce Artichoke hearts — eh Chicken & plantains — chicken had no flavor. Can’t say I’d go back. … maybe just for mojitos :)

First I want to Start off by saying I had a Great Experience Last night… Starting with your waitress staff to the Food. The atmosphere from inside and out made the night so special. My wife took me out to dinner for my Birthday on the recommendation from a Coworker. And I am so glad we did. For people who know me, know I usually take a long time to place my order. But last night hearing the special my choice was easy… But there definitely more on the menu that we’ll just have to keep coming back to try something different. You have definitely one satisfied customer who will be definitely recommending your restaurant to my family and friends. So if your up in Port Jeff area and looking for Great Food and Dinning Experience. Then you have to go here!!!

We went a couple weeks ago during the week. First parking is horrible. It’s not the restaurants fault that is just the way port Jeff is. We decided to sit outside to watch the sunset since it over looks the parking lot but at a higher level. Service was great, quick and friendly. We ordered the empanadas, fried olives and chicken cheese thing. Besides the incredible food even the drinks were great. The sangria was fruity and the piña colada was the best I ever tasted. Had to have two! The sauce for the empanadas was a bit spicy but I like that. It had a kick but not too strong. Best empanadas I ever ate. Now the fried olives. A must must must try. So good and flavorful. The chicken and cheese was good as well. Can’t say enough about this restaurant. It’s a must! Prices are reasonable for what you get. Go and enjoy! I’ll be back.

Another winner with extremely good Spanish food, gracious service, and fair prices. We started off with an excellent white Sangria — just the thing on a warm summer evening. Lots of outdoor seating, but we were in the cozy dining room. Shrimp bisque as a starter was great. Flavorful and creamy — filled with lots of shrimp. This was followed by fresh fish in garlic sauce accompanied by yellow rice and Spanish potatoes. Terrific. The meal ended with fresh fruit and tres leche’s cake. How sweet it is!
