The pita bread… Please correct me if I’m wrong but it takes so homemade and fresh and comes with a side of yogurt and olive oil that really compliments each other. My friend and I both got crepes, I got the strawberry Floridian. It is a very light crêpe, filled with only strawberries and a mild cream cheese then drizzled in a light strawberry sauce with whipped cream on the side. It was a pretty good crêpe, but I regret going because it was $ 14!!! For a freaking crêpe! I went to Sweet and Savory down the street the next day and it was WAYYY more affordable and was still delicious.

From the first day to the many times I have dined at ZPITA, they always make me feel at home! You’re sure to get a smile and a hello from Joe Z. The portions are that… you are always taking leftovers home. Ingredients are always fresh. By myself or with family, I always feel welcome and at home at Zpita

Wasn’t overly impressed by their Pitas interestingly enough. Seemed stale and reheated. Got the Greek salad as my side and that was excellent. The dressing is amazing if you love vinegar. Service was pretty slow, and the food was ok other than the salad. Probably would try other places in Port Jeff if you’re in the area.

I always enjoy coming here. I love the paninis and the pasta. Only complaint is the seating. Its very cramped. I’m always afraid of bumping into other customers as I’m trying to get into or out of my seat

My boyfriend and I ate here once. The service wasn’t great and the food was OK, but we both had pretty severe stomach cramps after(we shared the same thing). It wasn’t «I want to die» level and there was no bathroom repercussions but we will probably stay away from now on.

Went here for my birthday, wonderful waitress, wonderful food, and wonderful GM. I would recommend anyone to go here. Such a nice place. It really makes a difference to deal with staff that are pleasant and attentive. My girlfriend and I had the cheese and chocolate fondue platters, both fresh and delicious. I would certainly go here again.

My fiancé and I came here for the first time last weekend. We’ve been meaning to come here for awhile based on others recommendation so we finally had a chance to try it. Food was excellent and service good. My personal favorite was the homefries, absolutely yummy. Overall a new great option for us. We will definitely be back.

Great spinach pie and delicious salads. Soup is tasty but the chicken is ground up and I would prefer pieces in the soup. Moussaka is good. The owner is very nice. I really enjoyed the chocolate fondue.

I’ve been coming to Z pita for years and I really like the cozy feel the restaurant gives. I normally go there for fondue which is nice since they have free refills on the fruits. I’ve had their food a couple of times and by far my favorite is the eggplant parmigiana and the sweet potato fries on the side. If you go to eat there and want to try their fondue, you can do the fondue platter, which is a smaller version of their fondue. The platter doesn’t have free refills but is cheaper. The only reason i’m giving it 4 stars is because they have really risen in their menu prices and have started to add less things for their fondue

I met my best friend and his mom, who flew in from Florida, here for dinner on a Monday night in late October. There was literally 2 other parties in the restaurant, expected since Port Jeff isn’t exactly poppin’ this time of year. Tradition is that whenever my friend’s mom visits, we get Greek food. We’ve never been here before so we figure we’d try it and since we live in Stony Brook it wasn’t too far. Their menu was Greek food but also had Italian options. Which is great if you don’t like eggplant or lamb and there’s also an «American» section of the menu for kids and/or picky adult eaters. So everyone’s happy! The food itself was pretty good. I mean nothing to die for but for the prices it was fair. Our waitress was an older woman and she was very nice however, you did have to ask if you wanted something. She did make rounds asking if everything was okay but if your glass of water was empty you’d need to ask for a refill. It didn’t bother me since she was around and easy to get the attention of but it was also very slow so I don’t know how it would be if it was really busy. All in all, it’s a nice little restaurant and they warn you about the 30 minute Main Street parking restriction with signs and verbally when they ask you how many in the party. We’ll probably most likely go again.

This was the most mediocre breakfast I’ve ever had. My two friends and I all got eggs with toast, ham/bacon, and home fries. The food was not impressive at all. My sunny side up eggs were okay, I don’t think it’s possible to mess up eggs too terribly but everything else was eh. Mozzarella sticks were also disappointing and not worth it. Overall, quality of food does not match the prices. The service was pretty good and the inside is cute(definitely crammed but cute nonetheless). However, there are much better options down port and in the Stony Brook area to choose from(restaurants, diners, breakfast places, Dunkin Donuts, etc.) We were hungover, starving, and came because it was the only place without a wait. Wasn’t the worst, but I would say go elsewhere.

Wellllllllllll. Okay, so, I like it… but I don’t like it… it is overrated, that’s the general consensus, I just can’t say I hate it… nothing was awful, nothing turned me off a terrible amount, other than the price. I do recomend going other places instead, however the fondue is pretty well received here(I’m not impressed) The price tag for what you get doesn’t seem to match up and the service isn’t as attentive as you’d like, a cramped place needs more charm and variety than Z Pita can provide… initialy I said I liked this place but after reading what I have to say… and knowing I have no need to go back… DING — no bueno The selection and menu is lacking, I stumbled and went back recently, nothing worth giving a try we got up and left.

Loveeeeeee this lil joint. I know once you walk in you’re thinking«man this place is small.» It’s a great for lunch where you can take advantage of their mid-day drink Unilocal offer. Its 50% off drinks from 1−5pm(I believe). During my visit, I ordered a gyro melt and since then I’ve been craving it. Having moved to the area recently, I’ve been searching for a gyro spot and this is the winner. Their lamb gyro was delicious along with the sweet potato fries. Its definitely a filling meal as a gyro should be! Oh and don’t forget to try their grape leaves, its perfectly tangy. The hummus is amazing too. Just try everything, you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place, been here many times. Cute place, nice staff, owner is usually there and he’s also really nice. Always get the cheddar cheese fondue for dinner! Unlimited cheese and dippings, it’s delicious. Great for brunch and lunch too. Great falafel wrap

What a delightful dining experience! From pre-meal pita bread and yogurt sauce to the main entrees, we enjoyed our time here immensely. I had the eggplant parm dinner, and hubby had Chicken Francaise. They were both delicious! The ample size portions made for another meal at home the following day. The mixed drinks are very good and when you order wine, you really get your money’s worth. As much as we wanted dessert, we couldn’t even consider splitting one because we were that full! The place is small and has a charming atmosphere with paintings on the walls, door curtains, and charming tiny lights. It is a very cozy place! The staff is wonderful, and the friendly owner made a point of stopping at our table, and inquired about our dining experience. We definitely will be returning to try some of the other Z-Pita specialities. A very nice place!

Went for dinner on Friday night. Service was outstanding, menu was very good(turns out that the owner is Italian so they have Greek and Italian food). I had the chicken Parmesan which was extremely good. The portions were more than generous and the atmosphere was extremely relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Great local place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The English breafast is great, along with the eggs benedict and stuffed french toast. Did I mention the large steaming mug of robust coffee? The owner Tony seemed to be right there on point when we were in. He’s clearly got a handle on the place and all that goes on. From what I’m told by a couple of my PJ friends that I was visiting, they’ve got great gyros and paninis. Also heard they’ve seasonally got some fresh caught Montauk flounder and tuna. Right there in the heart of the village on Main Street, I’d say it’s a place you should check out. Tony was wearing the Mayor’s re-election pin, which leads me to think he’s as local as local gets. The place seems packed with regulars; always a good sign! I plan on going again the next time I’m in Port Jefferson.

A friend and I went for breakfast and the whole entire thing was just a disaster from the service to the food. We walked in and the hostess was completely ignoring us until I spoke up and asked for a menu. The entire menu looked pretty bland but it was the only place without a wait on the weekend. We were sat at a table that was so cramped with other patrons I could hardly move my seat back when I had to get up. The music was terrible and the whole atmosphere of tan walls and Walmart style decorating everywhere you look was almost comical. When looking over the menu I noticed that drinks were no where to be found! No list of juices, no special drinks or prices. Nothing! I did however notice that on the bottom they offer a $ 10 Mimosa. Are these people crazy?! I ordered a hot chocolate, when I went to take a sip I ended up chewing on a nice big chunk of unstirred hot chocolate mix. What the heck?! I decided to order a «smores French toast special» and my friend ordered an omelet. My French toast was terrible. They gave me 6 sandwiched pieces of French toast overly stuffed with fluff, Nutella and a very little amount of gram crackers which turned soggy. Gross! I was expecting maybe 3 – 4 pieces layered over one another with a fluff and Nutella drizzle and maybe the grams sprinkled over. I would have also enjoyed a side of something! Anything! Fruit, sausage or bacon instead of 6 pieces of slapped together toast. I ate one of the sandwiched pieces and got an Instant belly ache from all the sweetness AND I have a pretty good sweet tooth. My friend was completely disgusted with his omelette. It was just eggs flopped over and burnt around the edges with some American cheese slapped on top. American? REALLY? That is the cheapest cheese you can buy. He was expecting maybe jack, cheddar, just anything with some substance! It came with sausage that tasted like bratwurst according to him and some charred potato chunks. When we needed our server, although he was nice, was like spotting big foot. The bus boy was doing all the work! When I told the server that I didn’t like my meal he looked confused and offered me something different. I will say that was a good move on his part but I already had a sour taste in my mouth so I declined and was hoping he would take it off the bill since I said I don’t want to wrap it up, I didn’t like it and I clearly only took 3 bites and left nearly an untouched plate. All in all the restaurant has high potential because of its location but I can safely say I will NOT be recommending this place to anyone I actually care about. In fact I would go out of my way to make mention to not come here.
