Zorba, where you«eat like Gods.» And these Gods will not be disappointed. Their pricing was reasonable, around $ 10 – 11 for a dinner platter which includes great crispy fries or rice. Dinner platters are your typical gyros, soulvlaki, eggplant dishes, etc… They also have specialty plates but those are at least $ 18. The Greek pizza was a great appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed Zorba and it was a good alternate from the usual Greek take out places.

Since my favorite Greek placed moved to Florida, I’ve been on the hunt for a good replacement, wasn’t a fan of the salad but it was okay. The baklava was really under cooked, if not raw and the nuts have no texture left. being a Greek pastry chef, it made me sad!

I love the salads, I love the food. But here is my problem. Their bottled beer is never cold enough. And their staff lies and tells you there having problems with the freezer. Yet for 3 years the beer is not cold enough. So fix the problem already.

My husband and I have been ordering food from here a few times and it’s been pretty good but we recently had a disappointing experience. We called in our order on the phone and asked for two salads with the dressing on the side and the skordalia appetizer. They quoted us a twenty minute wait to pick up our food. When my husband arrived to get the food they claimed they never got our order. Huh? How does one lose then misplace an order? We reordered our food and waited forty minutes for it to be done. We peeked inside our bag in the car on the way home to see if the dressing was on the side and it was on the salads. In addition they didn’t even give us any yogurt sauce or pita bread for the skordalia. We had to go back then wait another half hour or so for our food to be made and we didn’t even receive an apology. The customer service was really disappointing. It wasn’t worth the $ 40 for this fiasco.

I’m sorry to write this review. This used to be one of my favorite places to go. Today my husband and I went for lunch. First we were sat at a dirty table. Then my salad was soggy with dressing and had no dolma in it. My soda was flat. My gyro came and I was delighted because it was delicious! I took the first bite and it was cooked to perfection… Then a bug crawled out of it. Needless to say I called the waitress over: asked for a manager. There was no manager available. I explained the dirty table and the bug. She was kind and prompt with her service. This isn’t a reflection on her but you can 100% see that there isn’t good management in place. We left and went down the road to zpita.

Stingy portions, expensive! Look elsewhere unless you have money to blow. Food is average.

«My first meal on Long Island was here at Zorba, in 1980, when I got the country salad(horitaki, feta, tomatoes and cucumbers) which was amazing. I’ve been coming here ever since and always like the place» — Scott

Delicious and top notch! Zorba the Greek is the crown jewel of Greek restaurants anywhere. Having moved out of state, I miss regular meals here. Nothing else compares. If you haven’t been, come get a gyro or belly up to the new bar. Trust me and check it out. Locally owned and managed, this restaurant is a trip to Greece for a few hours with amazing food and a great atmosphere.

I have been here in the past, before Unilocal!(there was such a time), and then just recently with each time leaving me underwhelmed. «Meh» is actually the perfect way to put it. The food is average to lacking in some areas. I have always found the falafel to be very dry, to the point of causing me to cough profusely. The tzatziki yogurt sauce is OK, but I have had some much more flavorful ones before… at diners. This place isn’t that cheap either, so it can be rather disappointing if you’ve had Greek before and are expecting some more bang for your buck at this establishment.

We went to Zorba last summer. We started by ordering stuffed grape leaves– Dolmas. Without that much experience in greek food, it may not be as meaningful, but they were just okay. Our dinners came next which consisted of a Greek Hamburger(gyro in a pita, basically) with rice and yogurt sauce, and spiced sausage with rice and broccoli. They were pretty good! Very flavorful, especially the sausage. The ambience is very quaint too. For dessert, we got Galaktoboureko. The whole meal in general was just good — nothing to rave about especially. But we would definitely recommend it! A guaranteed good experience… but just good ;D

As sit-down Greek places go, this one’s not bad. The nice thing about going here, is that the atmosphere, and service, are very good. Although the food is your standard fare, well prepared, it’s not«exceptional» by any means. What it is, is fresh, and good. Dips are one of the better prepared dishes, and dolmas are soft and well seasoned. Gyro meat is not dry, and especially tasty when baked in a tomato-onion gravy with cheese on top(SAGANAKIDINNER). It’s available with sausage also. A combination is best(just ask, they’ll make it that way). You’ll need extra pita for the gravy :) In general, if you stick to basics, you won’t be displeased. It’s a nice, quiet place to relax and have supper.

I was in the mood for Greek and was curious to tried this place out. Turns out I was a little disappointed with the food there. I usually go to Gilshar café, which is also near by the area. I have to say this place have more stuff in the menu, but Gilshar is better with quality. The restaurant may look nice but the food is definitely not up with Gilshar or Akropolis down in Smithtown. .

Went here with my gf the other night. The place was realllly empty when we walked in around 7, but between then and when we left around 8, this place was packed. For appetizer, we ordered a small greek salad, good for two people even though its a small. Also the spanakopita. The salad, obviously, was good, but i was sad to say the spanakopita was just mediocre. Not enough feta, and the spinach was a little dry. For dinner, my gf got a gyro, and I got the combo, consisting of gyro meat, a kebob, and greek sausage. The sausage was really good, the gyro meat, average, but the kebob was really good. And the portions, like a lot of greek places, are large and filling. We both took food home. Service was good, polite, timely, etc. Worth a try.

Food was good. I have the Athenian Eggplant and it was a good sized portion(I had left overs). As a dinner entrée it came with a soup or salad and some pita bread with yogurt sauce. The greek salad was fantastic. Other people at our table had some type of hummus and it was awesome. The spanakopita was okay, I think I’ve had better, but it wasn’t bad or anything. Food: 4.5 to 5 stars. Service: 2 stars. I’m not from NY but people in NY in general do not know how to service. Also low stars for slow food coming out, and for the fact that the waiter said there’s a «plate sharing fee» Are you for real? From what I recall it was $ 3.95. That was a bit retarded. None the less, atmosphere and restaurant was nice.

I judge a Greek restaurant by its hummus, because the differences between gyros and souvlakis are usually not that big as long as the ingredients are fresh. The hummus here was much better than most. The pork souvlaki sandwich was good, but nothing to rave about. Service was fast and friendly.

I like this place, their gyros were really good, price is decent, salad is good. I’d go back to get a gyro or possibly try their other foods but probably would not go out of the way for it. since it is around a 25 – 30 minute drive from where I am.
