First time to this place. The food was very good. Not excellent, but a little better than good. Lol. The portions were large. We had the gyro platter with salad and the chicken kabob wrap with a side of feta cheese fries with bread and sauce. All around, it was tasty and I would recommend you to try it. The prices are the usual. Not cheap but not more expensive. The place is very big inside and offers many different areas to sit in which is nice because you have private space if you don’t want to be next to others. Lol Enjoy

I’ve dined here a few times over the years and went here just today and was very disappointed. We came during the lunch special time. The service was ok, the guy took one of our orders wrong. We asked for a spinach personal pizza and the guy came back a couple minutes later and dropped a salad off at the table and he goes«this is for your fish or dish?» Hard to understand him But he dropped it off so quickly we didn’t have a chance to ask him what he said so we figured it just came with one of our dishes. So when he came to bring us our food he brought a fish dish which no one ordered. The gyros were good not amazing. At the end he did take off the fish dish and the salad off the bill and the prices are fair. Overall I’ve had better Mediterranean food… but this place is good if your in the area looking to eat some Mediterranean.

I always enjoy this place. The service is outstanding. On Sunday’s occasionally with my boyfriend we enjoy coming to their buffet and today they didn’t have my favorite dish pesto pasta. I was so upset by that I asked the waitress and she told me they might not have it today. Of course I was disappointed but to my surprise she brought out the pesto pasta for me! Great staff and the food is amazing quality.

We get take out every once in a while hoping they get their act together… and we are always disappointed. Last time I got the fish stuffed with crab and it was horrible! It tasted frozen, yet they swore it was fresh… nice try Shish-Kebab. The chicken was like rubber. Maybe we’ll try again in 6 months.

I came in during lunch because the sign on the front door described a lunch special with an enormous picture of a salmon that looked pretty good. Even though it wasn’t crowded, it took much longer than expected to get a person to take my order. The gentleman at the counter patiently explained that salmon isn’t included in the lunch special. When I reminded him of the enormous sign posted on the front door he shrugged his shoulders apologetically and nodded his head. «The manager says no salmon in the special. Sorry.’ IN stead of the special I ordered the salmon sandwich. When I the sandwich arrived I could not eat it because of the massive amount of mayonnaise. If you like food that’s dripping with mayonnaise, you have plenty of time to kill and you don’t mind restaurants that play games with posted signs — I would suggest this place.

Hadn’t eaten here in a while. Came after main dinner rush. Seated immediately. Ordered quickly. But then, zilch. Food came and was good but the waitress disappeared. Never saw again until we left and was outside cleaning a window! Needed other waiter to get a check(wouldn’t have considered dessert). Then check left off some beers, so had to be sent back. Meanwhile a raucous birthday party going on in next room. Worst-ever experience in the original joint that spawned an empire!

We had the Sunday brunch, $ 17.99 a person, and it comes with 1 free mimosa or bloody mary. Salads, koskos, pesto salad, hummus, cheeses, fried onion and spinch patty and much more in salad area. Warm food consisted of breakfast type food such as pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage. We did not try any of this. Hit wings, cubes if steak, rices, gyro, grilled peppers, onions, grilled chicken cubes, cheese, meat & spinach in a flaky crust bread with all the traditional sauces to pick from. Dessert was rice pudding, fruit, babaganush and some type of cheese in a flaky crust pastry(very good). Free parking in lot on the side Overall the food was good, chicken was a little dry but the sauces helped that. Some dishes had a little too much mint flavor, hit wings were dry and on the cold side. Very attentive staff

we had four platters: the kofte kebab, triple meat, chicken, and falafel. i liked the kofte a lot bc it was well seasoned and not greasy. the falafels were also very good. the meat and chicken i felt needed seasoning. wasnt crazy about the rice that came with it but the lebna was great! and the babaganoush was the best ive tasted thus far. i wish it wouldve arrived sooner bc it took about 45 mins to an hr to get here n by then the food was kinda cold. n u could taste the fat in the kofte n beef.

My extended family and I have been coming here for their famous Sunday brunch for years — it is our top choice for celebrating birthdays, Mother’s Day, or just any day that we can enjoy each other’s company. We travel from NJ, NYC, and eastern LI — the food is just that good. The food is amazing, an enormous buffet with every Mediterranean delicacy you can think of: hummus, salads, pastas, rice dishes, vegetables, breads, cheeses, and delicious grilled meats and fish(you’ll also find traditional breakfast options like eggs, waffles, bacon, etc and a lovely selection of desserts). At just $ 20, the buffet is an incredible value. You will leave stuffed, and happily so. The price also includes coffee/soft drinks or a breakfast cocktail. I wish I could give it five stars, but I will admit service has declined noticeably over the past year or so. There’s been a change in front of house management and it’s definitely for the worse. Since we always choose the buffet you wouldn’t think wait service would be an issue, but there is almost always confusion when checking in/waiting to be seated and not much attention during the meal(hard to get drink refills and plates cleared). It won’t stop us from coming back, but everyone agrees that we miss the professionalism and warmth of the old team. Best tips: make a reservation(especially if you have a large party) and try to arrive as early as possible, before the crowds descend. And wear your stretchy pants!

I usually order from here if im looking for a good lunch special deal for 10 bucks Their«quick lunch special» menu all comes with basmati rice and pita bread. Also comes with an option of either a soup or salad. Nothing crazy, nothing special, just an avg joe smoe But I like their tzasiki sauce… And im pretty sure i spelled that word incorrectly Cheers

I came here twice with bf and his parents for a lovely Sunday brunch. If you want to avoid the crowd and lines at the buffet line, the best tip is to come shortly after brunch starts. There have been parties and celebrations both times we came and it gets so busy that the line is almost to the door. All of the food is delicious and very filling. I have to remind myself not to fill up on yogurt sauce and pita bread. The first time I went, I made the mistake of filling up on that and the roasted potato salad at that start of the buffet line. The eggs with mozzarella and tomatoes were also favorites of mine. For dessert, I recommend getting the rice pudding above anything else. You can actually taste the fresh vanilla in it. It’s not normally something I would grab first at a buffet, but this pudding is perfect for dessert and not as heavy as the other items. This restaurant is very popular for special occasions because of the décor and food. However, it is also great for a lazy Sunday. The bf and I always end up in a food coma after brunch because of all the delicious food.

I’ve been here a few times over the years and I always hoped that it would be better than the last time but it wasn’t. The service was good. The waiter and staff were always attentive. The restaurant is clean but that’s not the issue. Being greek, I know what the food should taste like and it simply does not measure up to what I know to be good. I’ve ordered the lamb and beef and chicken and not happy with I’ve received. The meat always seems dried out like it’s been reheated. Way too salty and it does not have a fresh taste. The problem is simply the food. I hope that changes one day.

Came here for the Lunch Special. Can’t beat the Price for the amount of food you get. I got the Kufteh kebab lunch special, with the Lentil soup. The Lentil soup was actually very yummy, slightly on the salty side, other then that yummy. The kufteh kebab came with a side of rice and green beans. And they also bring out a side of mediterranean bread with a delicious yogurt sauce. For 9.99 it’s totally worth it. I’ll def be visiting again soon.

We order take out from here at least a couple times a month — easily one of my favorite places in town. I usually stick with the standards: lamb or chicken doner, Greek salad, or spinach pie. All great.

This is a generous 3 stars and it’s based solely on the food I ordered. Saturday for lunch, a couple tables occupied. Started with Red Sangria — a large, strong glass — purrfect! Got the Flounder Athenian as the main dish. If you’re expecting a fresh piece of fish freshly caught from the ocean, DON’T get this dish! It was 100% frozen as were the soggy spinach lingering around the fish. Should I even mention that the fish was wading in a buttery oil bath on a metal plate? Really awful food presentation and unappetizing as it was. Rice was buttery, not al dente, but tasty! I enjoyed it. Peas were frozen and gross as peas normally are. BF got the Chicken Kebob Platter. Juicy, BUT some of the pieces were pink in the middle. We asked the waiter if it was okay to eat, and he quickly replaced it with a new kebob from the kitchen. For the OCD peeps out there, it felt a bit dirty inside the restaurant. The glass cups didn’t have that scratchy shiny feeling expected at restaurants. Also during our meal there were a few fruit flies chillin’ around our table, having a grand olé’ time sniffing our entrees. Maybe 3 or 4 throughout the meal, but it was bugging me out(lol). If they got rid of those plant decorations throughout the restaurant it’d definitely be cleaner. Wait staff was lovely, attentive, friendly. I’ve heard the all you can eat brunch is great, so maybe I will have MUCH better luck with that!

Went last wk. It was a pleasant surprise that they had a restaurant wk menu! I had the chicken and my friend had the salmon skewers. The meat was made just right! Juicy and not burnt like most places! Had the hummus as an app, and chocolate mousse for dessert. And a glass of merlot. Everything was delicious! The staff was friendly, and the ambiance made me feel like i was in a different country. I absolutely loved my experience there! Will definitely be coming back!

If there was an option I would give 3.5 stars. It’s a chain restaurant — the food isn’t going to BLOW you away. But perfect if you are in the mood for some kebabs and yogurt sauce! Came Saturday lunch. Warmly greeted. Cute décor in restaurant. Seemed clean. Service was good– slow at times bc server was busy. I had the lunch special salmon kebab. Portion of salmon was quite small. Lucky my friend didn’t finish her food so I had some of hers. My friend had chicken gyro. Both served with rice & some veggies and a choice of soup or salad. All were pretty decent. Like I said– you aren’t gonna have the best meal of your life here, but it’s good quality for the price. Lunch for two people came to 25 $ and we were full & satisfied.

I have come here so many times throughout the years. Solid food and lunch specials(ask for a quick kebab for about $ 10, which includes veggies, rice, and soup or salad). I like to go for Sunday brunch($ 16.95pp and includes a mimosa/bloody mary or they’ll give coffee, tea instead), but I remember when it was $ 9.95, and frankly, the brunch isn’t worth %16.95 to me, but I do go and enjoy most of it. The spread includes hummus, eggplant, pastas, eggs, sausage, bacon, gyro, salmon, cheese pies, meat pies, and desserts. Trust your eye and you’ll enjoy yourself. Also, feel free to ask a waiter or hostess if anything runs out, they’ll replenish as soon as you ask.

My family and I have always been fortunate enough to live near this wonderful restaurant. I have many fond memories of coming here as I was growing up and most recently was a patron here for Mother’s Day. I’ve never had a meal quite like the ones I’ve had at Ayhans’s Shish Kebab(and I’ve been to Fish Kebab and the local market as well) and have to say I’ve had a very tough time finding a comparable alternative. The chicken and doner gyro kebabs are fantastic. Not dry, served with pilaf and a fantastic yogurt/tahini. Some apps can be rather dry(felafel) but the salads are fresh and packed with flavor. The service can sometimes seem a bit scatterbrained, buy be back overall are very attentive. I will undoubtedly be back!
