Best plain slice in port Washington. If you like specialty slices, I’d recommend going to Gino’s. Their pasta fagoli soup is also my favorite, it takes awhile for them to make it(they make it on request) and it comes out very hot but is well worth the wait and the portion is very large.

Just opened up in Roslyn/East Hills and thank god they did. We have to travel for great pizza but not anymore.

You go there for pizza… nothing else. The pizza has just the right crunch. They’ve been open forever!

Carlos has consistently great tasting pizza. It has always been a great place for a quick slice and the chicken and tomato slice is a full meal– just 1 slice. Sicilians are always on point– crispy, soft delicious. Very different from Gino’s, which is also good, but more of the average tasting pizza. Carlos has a crispy crust and excellent flavor sauce. I haven’t tried pastas — and the soups are ok. Its the pizza that you want to have here. Try any slice– delicious. People are very nice as well. Tables are always kept clean despite plenty of kids coming in and being messy. A must try.

Best regular pizza pie in town. Always ask for a large pie and always ask for it to be cooked«well done». In 38 years, I’ve never had a bad pizza from Carlo’s. They’ve been doing everything the same way for decades because when you get it right there’s no need to change it.

Best thin crust pizza in town. The pepperoni rolls and pasta fagioli soup are great too. Fast and friendly service. Cash only.

Warning!!! If I could give them a zero, I would! I was unhappy with my order and rightfully so. I spoke to the owner and his responds was disgusting, even more than the food. Do not go there. There is a great place called Rosa’s Pizza on the same block. Carlos is a rip off and rude!

I was cynical coming from Brooklyn, home of perhaps some of the best pizza in the Northeast. Carlos did not disappoint. I wished they used fresh mushrooms, that would be the clincher, but otherwise, the sauce, cheese and meats were delicious. We’ll be coming back.

The pizza here is good. The crust is just right with a nice sauce with a good proportion of cheese. It reminded me of that city neighborhood pizzeria from my youth. It’s doesn’t have a fancy décor which is part of its charm with the staff being very nice and polite making the place a great experience to visit.

Carlos makes really good pizza! It may look a little divey, but the crust is crispy, the sauce is cooked just right and the cheese doesn’t slide off. All in all, it’s a great pizza place!

Really good pizza, great crust with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. It is a staple in Port Washington and during the lunch and dinner hours you will be hard pressed to find a seat in their small space. I bought a pie to take home and freeze and it reheated almost as good as when I ate it fresh from their oven.

Best pizza in Port, and holds its own against the best NYC pizza-by-the-slice joints too. For those who appreciate a classic New York Italian pizzeria, it doesn’t get better. Bench seats and all! There’s not a better way to arrive in town than a two-slice stop at Carlos’. Owners and staff are great!!! They once gave my dad two pies and a salad on credit because he accidentally didn’t have enough cash on him. Great local town vibe.

I’ve long maintained that it’s hard to find bad pizza in New York — I mean, the worst pizza here is better than the best pizza pretty much anywhere else — but some places are better at it than others, and for me, Carlo’s is the one. Their sauce is just the right blend of sweetness and tartness, and the ratio of sauce to cheese to dough is perfect, whether it’s Neopolitan(regular) style or Sicilian. Their specialty pizzas are also oustanding, as are their rolls(try the eggplant!) and calzones. My husband will not go anywhere else, and swears that their chicken parmesan, whether as a hero or part of a platter, is the best he’s ever had. He always picks up a couple of slices on the way home from the train station every night. In fact, Carlo’s was his first stop in town… upon returning from Italy! Every time we have out-of-town guests, they always look forward to pizza from Carlo’s. And what makes Carlo’s even better are the wonderful people who own it, as well as those who work there. They’re always happy to see you and make you feel at home. It’s an unbeatable combination — good food and good people.

This is by and far hands down the best place for pizza in town. I have been going there for as long as I can remember. Great counter service

Best pizza in Port Washington. Anyone not rating Carlos with 5 stars is someone who never had great NYC pizza. Carlos is the only pizza place with real pizza in Port Washington. Why is it that towns with minimal NYC roots based residents don’t know real pizza??? Not surprised. U want real pizza only go to Carlos. Say hello to Danny.

Disclaimer: I eat pizza maybe three times a year, so i’m pretty obnoxiously picky. Ahh why can’t Unilocal go by a decimal system for individual ratings?! I feel guilty giving this place 3 stars. It should really be like 3.645. I used to come here in high school all the time, and back then, It was definitely 4 stars. Jut stopped by last night for a slice of veggie pizza. Not disappointing, but not as good as I remembered it. The cheese was really great though, and I can be picky about mozzarella on pizza. Things I don’t like my cheese to be is a.) super hot and runny/dripping off the slice b.) Overly chewy like gum and b.) overly firm, like a cold pizza slice. This cheese was pretty close to perfect Just the right texture. I do however, kind of agree with the review about the sauce lacking in flavor. And the vegetables were pretty basic/not as fresh or as flavorful as i’d remembered. That said, it was still a very decent slice of pizza. If I ate pizza more than three times a year, i’d be back.

This pizza used to be amazing. It started going downhill a few years ago and now it’s very inconsistent. Sometimes undercooked, sometimes burnt, and the sauce seems to have gotten blander. My husband grew up on this stuff and when I first met him and we visited Port he would drag this California Girl to try real pizza. Soon after, I was the one dragging him. Then we moved here and… meh. We gave it several more tries but the disappointment was too much to bear.
