Normally love this place, but we came in on a Wednesday night and had terrible service and it was absolutely freezing in the dining room.

Came back again, second weekend in a row to give them another chance. Wait over an hour, saw our server one time. Empty glass of beer for 45 minutes. This is my last visit, go to ball room instead. I’ve never seen the owner here helping out, he needs to be on bar rescue.

Stopped in for a beer and a burger after a day of skiing at Cascade. The server was attentive, the beer was ice cold, and the burger was outstanding — very juicy (Mac and Cheese burger). I’ll keep this place in mind the next time I’m in the area for sure.

I saw this place while in portage for the CP holiday train of 2015 as I drove around looking for the perfect spot for a video. After finding my spot I had about 20 minutes to kill so I stopped in for a drink. There was about 12 craft beers on tap and the one I chose first puked out so I chose some beer with cave in the name which was ok.
It’s located in a cool old school coroner building in what looks like the down town area. When I walked in the place the place looked fresh with colorful walls with a nice balance of light and dark wood. The place seemed like it had a room with sections from the small bar to the cozy fire place area and the great room with the sectioned off semi open room. There was flat screens that could be seen from any seating area playing sports.
While I was only there for a drink I noticed the food was the star because everyone was having burgers and wings. The burgers on the table next to me looked pretty good.
While I was only there for a drink the staff came over at least four times to see if I needed anything or a menu so the service was great. I hate when I’m at what be a good place for food for a drink before going somewhere else for food and I can’t comment on there food.
Overall the place was great with all spans of ages from young to older people hanging out on a Saturday for lunch. I would definitely go back when I’m in the area and hang out.

Good and service are great. Many tv’s to arch games. Love their menu great bar food plus many healthy choices!

Ordered takeout for dinner, was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived earlier than the quoted 15 minutes and sat at the bar; the bartender greeted me and was friendly. I then patiently sat and waited for my food to be done for the next 40 minutes! They weren’t even busy.
When I finally got the food home to my hungry family, it was less than stellar.
The kids hamburger was obviously a frozen pre-​formed patty and the fries were overcooked.
My chicken sandwich was decent, although nothing to write home about.
My wife had a Philly cheesesteak, which she said was okay, except for what seemed like a large amount of fat and gristle on the meat.
We will not be returning.

We went on a Thursday night and it was kind of busy. They were very nice, but they only had one server on staff. Food was good, but overall service was a little slow. Everything was good and I am sure it was an off night. I would give them another shot if I come through town.

The food we had was excellent. The fried cheese curds were well seasoned and really good. The burgers were also excellent. Beer list is average and doesn’t include many Wisconsin brews, but this is clearly a sports bar for Packers and Badgers fans.

First off, we went for a late lunch around 3:00. We were the only customers so we received excellent service! We had the Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms, which were very good. I had a Marmalade Burger and it was delicious. A little sweet, a little tangy with yummy grilled onions. I chose sweet potato fries and they were done perfectly. Excellent choice for lunch. Would definitely recommend it.

Food was excellent. BBQ pork sandwich and triple bacon burger were exceptional. Chocolate fudge cake was fresh, moist and tasty. Friendly service. Good price point.

Awesome buffalo wings and the best choices for beer on approximately 10 taps with full bar!!! Stopped by a few other places in the way here but glad I chose this place for dinner for my first visit to town. Great service at bar and that cook redefines the words efficient and excellence for food. All food exiting the kitchen looked delicious!

Great place to check out if you’re spending a weekend at Cascade. I had a bacon cheeseburger. It was really good. The sweet potato fries were good. It seemed like everybody was ordering the Chuck Norris Burger which is a patty between two grilled cheese sandwiches. It looked awesome. Spotted Cow on draft as well.

This is a nice, clean, modern local place. We stopped in for lunch. My husband had the chicken cordon blue sandwich and I had the marmalade burger. Both were nice and we appreciated the interesting menu choices. Another review mentioned the fries and they are seasoned nicely. The beer choices were good too. The service was a little slow.

Four and a half stars. Salads are fine, burgers are good, Friday fish is really good. Beer selection is better than average for a sports bar. Clean place. Friendly, capable staff.

I ordered the pesto tomato basil panini and it was very good! Boyfriend ordered a ¼ burger and he said that was very good as well. Food did take a little longer than I expected it would take so we ended up having to box it up and take it with us. The server was very nice and accommodating. Prices were a tad on the high side for bar food.

Corey is the best bartender lady. She’s friendly. And the steak tacos here are excellent,

As a local who’s only eaten here at lunch time, I really like it. (Not a 5-​star? I’m a tough grader.) The sandwiches, burgers, wraps, etc are all excellent. I like the fries (regular and sweet potato) and they have a popcorn maker in one corner — nice for snackin’ while you wait for the food. When they get busy, the service can be a bit slow, but if you’re in a huge rush, go to Mickey D’s and get a gut-​bomb. Otherwise, relax and some good food will be on the way.
I’ve no idea about the evening scene. I’m home with the kids =)

Townies mixed with tourists… always a bad combo. Not because of any real danger here, just awkward drunk people from both groups. Music was bumpin’ loud, lots of ‘moms’ out on the dance floor… uh yeah… and super drunk former frat boys trying their hardest to look tough and impressive… check please!
Service was slow due to it being packed. But no real fault with service here.

great food and beer. The bartender Tara was very friendly and welcoming to us.

–They have Stella Artois, something most establishments in Portage don’t seem to carry nor know of
