A-1 Hawk

Bought a laptop here for a good price. Took it home and updated it, then realized that the windows that was installed was not activated, essentially leaving the computer useless. I took it back 2 days later with receipt in hand.
I totally expected to get the usual pawn shop run around and excuses, «buyer beware» and that sort of thing. In fact I was even prepared for a confrontation walking through the door. However, to my surprise the staff was apologetic and immediately activated my windows for me, and even offered to return the laptop all together. They were busy when I went in and they made my issue a priority and I was out the door very quickly. They even gave me a few free dvds for my troubles.
I haven’t had this good of service from any retail store, let alone a pawn shop. They have earned a customer for life. I won’t shop anywhere else.

The rain this morning was a reminder that it was time for a nice winter jacket.
I’ve had my eye on a rather expensive one from a major retailer and was reminded by my sister that a pawn shop would have them for a better deal.
We walk into A1-​Hawk and I see the PERFECT jacket for the PERFECT price. I just need to see how it hangs on my body.
I ask the staff where the mirror is and am pointed to one on the other side of the store behind the counter.
I’m not wearing my contacts so I ask if an escort could take me closer, they respond no.
I ask if they could bring it closer, again no.
I understand that it’s not their fault I didn’t wear my contacts but here’s a customer willing to pay the price you’re asking for. The least you could do is let her see a mirror.

It’s a pawnshop, no better, no worse than any of the others. Customer service was nonexistent but that’s normal for pawn shops, right? Treat everyone like they just robbed their grandma. They had a lot of stuff for sale. Over the phone an employee said they paid $ 0-​$ 15 for used cell phones, I rattled off the make and model but maybe she didn’t care. I got $ 30 for it at SellPhoneWorld.

Worst pawn in the area. Buyers need to beware because they sell fakes and sellers — go to a pawnbroker with knowledgeable and honest employees

OK SERIOUSLY PEOPLE ! all around A-​1 Hawk there’s other shops, but they can’t match the deals these folks will give you. I do regular buisness with all of the staff here. They get where your coming from and are always happy to help me out. Even sometimes when I ask for a few more loaned dollars they always work with me. Awesome just awesome.

Poor customer service. Unreasonable prices. but thats mostly when the owners daughter is working. other staff a little nicer but don’t look for a deal.

Great people, good attitude, gave me a great deal when i was in need. Tara and Sarah were super nice and polite and weren’t trying to hustle me, in fact they were working with me and it felt as fair as humanly possible so i promised them id come on here and tell others the great experience i had. i didn’t even have a Unilocal account before coming on here to post this. AAAAAAA+++++++++

Best pawn shop for my money in Portland. $ 3 DVDs alphabetized, 8/​$ 20. High end purses. Tools. Snowboarding equipment.
