My friend ordered the Halibut Fish n Chips here. There was a sign that said Money Back guarantee if you don’t like it and they cashier said this to her as well. Turns out they were not good.(I tried a bite and i agree that they are TERRIBLE). So, logically, my friend tired to get her money back as they promised. Instead of holding to their promise, they told her that they would give her Cod Fish n Chips(an item that is half the price of the Halibut). She said no, so they said they would give her the chicken. She didn’t want the chicken. They would not give her the money back even though they promised it. If an establishment is going to offer a money back guarantee, then they should honor it instead of trying to pawn off their other crappy food on people. Bad service, bad fish n chips, bad place to eat.

Good batter but should’ve taken the recommendation of chicken to heart. I ordered the 3pc fish and was far from the best fish I’ve eaten. It was okay, but I imagine that the chicken is way better. Nice service and the pager is a lobster. Decent place in the mall food court.

I ate at the LLoyd Center Mall Ace’s for the 2nd and last time. The first time I visited was when they just opened. I tried the skewered shrimp which was absolutly nothing to write home aboud since they were just so, so also the wait was long and the shrimp were very expensive for what it was. Just recently I decided to give them another try but this time I went for the Fish and Chips. Oh boy! A big, BIGMISTAKE. Again a very long wait and what I received was the most disgustingly soggy oily french fries and the fresh Alaskan Cod fish, what itty bitty tiny pieces of frozen fish there was inside the big greasy lump of batter was probably caught at the end of the 20th century and frozen since then as it was totally without any taste or texture. I love all types of seafood from fresh water Eel to Sea Urchin, may it be raw or cooked. I live for seafood but Ace’s is the absolute worst food I have eaten in a long, long time. Even the cheap, unappatizing Long John Silvers is superior to Ace’s even through LJS is scratching the bottom of the barrell. At least LJS doesn’t over charge or claim to be fresh caught Alaskan Cod. I will never eat there again and strongly discourage anybody from waisting their hard earned money on that establishment. This place soley exist on unfounded hype. It may have been good eats at one time but that time has long since disappeared in the distant past. Eat at your own health risk.

I was skeptical that the food here was going to be any good. I’m happy to report that on my quest for the best Chicken and Waffles, their entry into the ring was very good. The chicken is a solid B+, they are chicken strips and very, very good ones. The Hot Sauce seems like a mixture of Ranch and Spicy Buffalo sauce; highly recommended. The Waffles(4 small waffles linked together as one big one) is a solid C(my wife would give it a B). The portions are HUGE! 6 or so chicken strips, and the big ass waffle goes for about $ 8. Two people can share this meal easily! By the way, everything is made to order; so that means you’ll be waiting for few minutes and it’s worth it! Get the«creamy» hot sauce, you need to request it.

Its in the Lloyd Center food court. So what. Get over it! Ace’s Famous Fish and Chips has the WORLD’S Greatest Chicken Strips.(Fish and Chips are excellent but the chicken strips are amazing). I’ve traveled the world eating chicken strips. They are the greatest! Note to readers. You must request both a side of their hot sauce and their mild hot-wing sauce. They won’t provide it without you requesting it. They make their own mild hotwing sauce(which is a creamy concauction I have not been able to reverse engineer). Dipping in either sauce is the dream topping on their chicken fried cake. Both are great so ask for both(though hot is really hot so I mix the two). Their breaded strips combined with the hotwing sauces is awesome. They also bread their french fries upon request another little unique quirk of Ace’s deep frying genious(whoever Ace is he’s dangerous in a good way). Also worth mentioning is their general depth of menu. It goes on with everything you could ever conceive of sticking in a deep vat of fryer oil. Deep fried pickles, twinkies, and elephant ears every day all the time. Again. I’ve traveled the world eating chicken strips. They make the greatest chicken strip known to humanity.

Wow, I was REALLY excited to see this place while I was shopping at Lloyd a few weekends ago. Some really different options that you won’t find at most food courts. Of course I had to try the fish and chips and they were REALLY good. And I am a picky fish and chips person. Since then, my husband and I have gone by Ace’s twice for take out food. Last weekend I stopped by and had an Elephant Ear. Okay… this is a MUST try for people who like these. It is made with whole wheat dough and tasted incredible. And, the serving size is amazing… about 3 x the size as the one’s I am used to getting at carnivals and fairs… it didn’t even fit on one plate, she served it to me on across two plates. Anyway… I think this place is going to really take off. I guess they are indpendently owned… if I had the $ I would talk to the owner about franchise opportunities. It’s a really good place… check it out!

Ace’s Famous Fish and Chips is located inside the Lloyd Center Mall food court. They kicked Arby’s out of the way and now they are trying to be the king of the court. I didn’t go to the mall that often since I have too many craps as it is, but when I do, I don’t want to have McKiddies or the fast Chinese food. Ace has a large menu. From hot subs, fish and chips, fried shrimps, chicken fingers, CHICKEN&WAFFLES, DEEPFRIEDTWINKIES, DEEPFRIEDOREOS, CORNONTHECOB, and more. I capitalized the ones that I want to try in the future. Ace also has a large drink menu especially non soda drinks. Horchatas, soda drinks, fruit juices are on the menu. I think that’s pretty cool. I love variety and I want to try everything if I could. Anyway, I ordered the Fried Coconut Shrimps with Sauteed Shrimps on the skewer. It came with a side of fries of course. What’s interesting and a little bit odd was they gave you a buzzer like at Olive’s Garden while you are waiting for your food. It’s not a regular buzzer. It’s a lobster buzzer. I thought that’s a bit odd since Ace is suppose to be a fast food joint at a food court. I like the sauteed shrimps on skewer. I don’t care for the coconut shrimps. They are just ok. I just had water for drink. My total bill was supposed to be $ 6.99, but when I got home I realized that they charged me $ 7.19. Could it be they charge me 20 cents for a cup of water? Or that’s just a glitch. Either way, next time I will pay more attention to my check. I know it’s only 20 cents, but I cherish my pennies. 20 cents can get me a dipping sauce somewhere. So, next time, deep fried twinkie will be in my belly…
