The mussels are outstanding love the sauce. Good selection of beer and friendly service.

Terrible experience. Paid a premium price for a burger $ 11 and the plate arrived with no joke 18 cold, soggy, anemic objects resembling french fries. The chili we ordered was filled not even halfway in the small bowl. Lastly, my husband was appalled to find no stall doors, no sinks, no soap, no towels and no hand sanitizer in the bathroom!!! My advice, save your money and the trip to the hospital due to food poisoning.

Went out for our first night in Portland– so excited to experience the city and get some seafood. Into andys we went. The very kind waitress let us know there was a 20 minute delay on our food after waiting 10 minutes. An HOURAND A HALF later our nacho appetizers had yet to come out. The waitress apologized and mentioned another 10 minutes until food would be ready. Another 10 minutes and we left. As someone who considers myself pretty reasonable, this behavior should not be tolerated. very disappointing. Ordered pizza from flatbreads while waiting for our appetizer. Still didn’t get appetizer by the time we went to get our pizza. Yikes!

We must have hit this place on an off day… not busy at all. We had lukewarm chowder before we waited an hour for a lobster roll, fish tacos, the«fish stick» special, and a burger… Never again. The beer was cold though…

Came here for lunch. Very casual atmosphere — seat yourself. The servers are all very friendly and attentive, took our drink orders within 3 minutes. We ordered the Lobster Roll Special, basically a lobster roll with avocado and bacon. Yea… pretty amazing. Came with a side of sweet potato fries, which are pretty great. Overall, great food and reasonable prices.

I had one afternoon in Portland and stumbled across the reasonably priced menu posted on thelis pub window. I went in hesitantly, because I’m not a fan of eating alone, and this ended up being the best decision I made during my time in Maine. The bartender suggested the«daily catch,» a three course meal with Maine favorites. It was all superb — clam chowder, lobster roll, and blueberry pie. The bartender and other staff were super friendly, and the owner introduced himself and Andy, the pub’s namesake. Everyone who came in knew Andy and others at the bar. It’s totally a local hangout, with live music every night. Definitely a great snapshot of Portland pub. Can’t wait to come back, just to eat here again!

Stopped in for an early supper around 5, no wait at all. Most other seafood places nearby were running close to an hour for a table. All your Maine staples, including organic blueberry soda for the kids. Ordered the Capt’n Kai fish sammie, was cooked to perfection. Wife ordered the fried clams, said they were the best she’s had in New England. Kids loved there lobster rolls too. Friendly wait/bar staff. Great beer selection including plenty of local offerings. Pool table in the back, music most nights. Would definitely return.

Great find. Andy’s had a fantastic lunch special the day we were in town. Clam chowder, a lobster roll and blueberry pie a la mode for $ 20. The chowder was excellent with loads of clam and potato and very flavorful. The lobster roll was perfect, just enough butter to bring out the flavor of the juicy lobster meat, and it was loaded with meat. The blueberry pie was a perfect ending to an excellent lunch. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. I will recommend Andy’s to any friends I know are heading to Portland. Thanks for a great lunch.

Such a great spot in Old Port. The pulled pork sandwich on the corn bread was among the best I’ve ever had. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. The live band was entertaining as well.

Loved the food here. Great pub feel right near the water. None of the lobster dishes we had skimped on the lobster meat. Prices were competitive and the specials were fresh and delicious. I would definitely dine here again!

Decided to come here to have our first lunch in Maine and to escape the scorching heat, boy was this a great decision! I had the lobster roll with a side of coleslaw. Your first bite is mixed with fresh lobster and a buttery roll, the second and third bite you appreciate the avocado on the inside. Amazing place, would recommend to anyone!

This is a place to get a true taste of Maine, both literally and figuratively. Wonderful lobster dishes, such as lobster pizza. They also have amazing maine blueberry pie. Everything is local and very fresh. But what makes this place really special is the people. The owner loves to chat and you will learn lots about local culture. A worthwhile place to check out if you are in the Old Port area.

The bluegrass band made this a really enjoyable experience. We stopped in after dinner and had some clam chowder and a beer. The chowder was good(not the best I’ve had though) and the entertainment was really good. Our waitress also made an extra effort to provide good service and get us what we asked for.

Server was helpful in allowing me to customize a dish that would be grain-free. Food was great, however, the portions were small; we left hungry.

Great lobster mac and cheese. The lobster roll with bacon and avocado my wife had was fabulous too. Wide selection of local beers. The waitress was helpful in providing us with recommendations. I’d go back again for the lobster mac and cheese and friendly atmosphere.

It wasn’t the food that was five stars, so you may not agree with the rating. It was our particular experience. We were investigating Portland, ME — a very interesting city. We stopped by for what we thought would be a nice dinner — instead it turned out to be an amazing experience. Conversations abounded — with the waiter, who is a wanna-be writer(we are publishers), with the owners, who were leaving to catch their ferry to the island home they live on(and I wonder if they made it, because they kept talking to us for almost a half hour), and the waitress(who replaced the writer) who was interested in genealogy. Ok — TMI. I get it. The point is — the food was great — lobster, clams, and all the requisite Maine stuff. Beer specials that made words flow easily. And this could have been a mundane,(but nice) meal. The point was — it’s a pub. TALK to the people — and suddenly — five stars. Oh — and richness — who is Andy? Andy is a special needs adult who the owners have«adopted» — and named the restaurant after him. Wow. There are a lot of things in the world easily missed — keep eyes and ears open, mouth, not as much. Enjoy your meal!

One cold and rainy evening on the waterfront, I made my way over from my Hotel(Hilton Garden Inn) for dinner and an Ale. I sat at the bar — Daphne was bar tending. I ordered the traditional Nachos with Chili, and a pint of a local IPA: Stowaway IPA(6.9% ABV) by Baxter Brewing Co.(Lewiston, ME). The Nachos were served with the Chili on the side in a bowl, so you had to dip your chips in the Chili — which was fine. Was just a bit surprised as I’ve never had them presented this way before. Nachos were damn tasty! The Stowaway IPA was pretty good. It was served, however, in a Pabst Blue Ribbon pint glass. I told Daphne that this should be considered blasphemy — that a tasty local Maine craft brew is being served in a PBR-branded glass! There was live music that night I was there. A solo female artist was playing guitar and singing. Nice rustic ambiance, lots of wood. Service was good, staff was friendly!

YUM!!! So many different ways to eat lobster! I came here as part of a group of four around 3:30pm on a Wednesday; we snagged a table immediately and were promptly greeted and given water. After perusing the menu we decided on five lobster meals: lobster quesadilla, lobster mac ‘n cheese, a lobster roll, a garden salad with lobster, and their lobster pizza special. The salad with lobster was the best deal of the lot(under $ 15 and chock full o’ lobster), but they were all reasonably priced especially when you compare the prices here to the nearby restaurants. The service was also great: our water glasses were always full, our beers kept coming, and the food was served with speed and a smile. If you’re in the area I would definitely check out Andy’s! It’s my preferred place for all things lobster.
