So, so good. I love the spicy avocado and lime kale and quinoa bowl. I’ve heard the burgers are great too, although I always go for the bowls. REAL food, fast.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had been here a few years ago and thought it was meh. But I came in today and had a really delicious lunch! I got the curry and grilled avocado bowl with chicken and it was so so good! I love that they use local ingredients. It is a great place for those who want to eat healthy but don’t want to forgo delicious tasting food. The burgers look incredible with many different options available to custom to exactly what you want. I will be sure to get one next time I stop by, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later!

I finally got around to trying this little downtown gem and was more than satisfied with my meal. I loved it! I tried a kale and grain bowl, the curry and avocado one and was surprised by the quality of the ingredients here. They source food locally and I couldn’t think of any way they could improve upon my yummy bowl of goodness! It was perfect! I could taste the fresh mint and almonds were a nice touch. I will be a regular here for the healthy take out option for a fair price.

Eh it’s okay. I would like to give 2.5 stars. The location can be a pain in the butt to get to because it’s right in the heart of the Old Port, and as I get older the less patient I’m getting with fighting and paying to get a parking spot down there.(minus one star). Yes the burgers are good, especially the El Guapo burger which is the only burger I order from the menu. It is spicy and always well cooked. It’s not huge though, and for the prices they charge you think they would be. I always get the combo with the sweet potato fries and drink. Keep in mind the fries are hand cut, so about 20−25% of them are burnt ends that aren’t really good. They serve Maine Root soda(no ginger beer though, bummer!!) Try the ginger beet lemonade! It’s a really pretty pink color, you won’t miss it. I also like and sometimes order the local apple and bacon quinoa salad. It’s pretty good and very filling. If you sign up for their mobile app you will get a free quinoa bowl sent to the app. Try this bowl if you’re hesitant, it’s very tame! When I come here, I always try to sit upstairs at a particular table by the windows. It’s a great spot to look down at the street and people watch. Plus there’s usually less screaming children up there. A reason for deducting a star from my rating is that I always come here with my friend, and the food never comes out at the same time. I understand that they want to bring the food out to the customer as soon as it’s ready so that it’s warm etc. On my last visit, I ordered my food before him. He received his food and finished eating it before I even received my food. He even waited a little while before I told him not to wait anymore because I didn’t want his food to get cold. That was a little ridiculous. The person who dropped my food off did say«sorry for the wait». I feel like when they know people are in a party together, they should try to coordinate making the food a little better so that people that come in together can eat together. Things like that happen occasionally I understand, but it’s been like that the past few visits.

Fast-casual in the heart of the Old Port with organic food & good local beers? Perfect. Love this place. A bit on the pricy side but for good, local organic ingredients, you’re gonna pay a premium & I’m OK with that.

A very nice addition to the Old Port. This place serves a very solid burger for an honest price while incorporating lots of quality ingredients. I usually order the El Guapo, which features bacon, jalapeño slaw and a spicy sauce. This has some fairly serious kick, which is complemented nicely. The bacon is usually pretty juicy and the slaw has a nice mix of sweet and sour. The burger could be a little bit juicier, but is pretty good nonetheless. The atmosphere in this place is very nice. B. Good has developed a unique menu and design for its Portland location that includes lots of information about its suppliers and emphasizes the relationships that go into forming the food that it sells. The place has a positive vibe and still manages to feel humble and relatively genuine. I wish this was the case at more«organic» food establishments. All in all, the place offers a mindful dining experience with good tasting food that doesn’t cost too much. Thats enough for gets my seal of approval.

Quick and high quality food. I got the spicy avocado and lime quinoa bowl. It was really flavorful. The only thing they could do better is give the veggies a minute or two more to cook through(especially at a non-busy time like 11:10AM), that would make this review 5 stars. Staff were friendly and the place is nice and clean.

Just had my first of many lunches at this very cool brick hip lunch spot on Exchange Street. I am not a health food girl by any means so to get the best salad ever was a treat! I had the Powerbowl with grilled chicken. Rosemary lemonade was great also. This is a must do! Thanks b. Good.

Impressive! The burgers are die for. I am visiting from Arizona and am wishing this place exists in Arizona. Good concept and I felt good dining here knowing what goes into my body.

First time, after hearing awesome reviews of local, healthy food. Ordered the West-side(avocado, cilantro, fresh salsa, chipotle purée, lime), and I was really surprised by how spicy it was! phew! it had me sweating, and I’m pretty tolerable to spicy food. It was really good, though. I keep hearing their kale salads are amaze, so I will definitely be going back.

I have never had their burgers. I go here for the spicy, healthy quinoa bowls and the sweet spot to sit upstairs and people watch. I like that they support other small businesses so I commit to supporting b.good. The end.

Yummy! My friend was hungry, I was not. We stopped here and she had a wonderful Roasted Butternut Salad and I had Crispy veggies! Both were delicious and good for you!

Had lunch there today… Big disappointment. Burger was just fair at best. Very small piece of meat for the price. Not really worth the money. Fries were good. 5-guys Burger puts this place to shame…

Wow. I have walked by this place a few times and only gave it a passing glance. From the outside it seems small and«fast food» like. I came to B. Good to meet up with some committee members to plan out some work. I got there early; the smell was intoxicating and my stomach started growling. I took a quick look at the menu and was pleasantly surprised. As much food as possible is locally sourced, such as Pineland Farms beef. They have Kale and Quinoa Bowls. There are plenty of options for vegan, dairy free, vegetarian and carnivore alike. I had some crispy vegetables which were cooked with crunch still left in them and not full of oil, but full of flavor. I also had the Westside burger. It had the right amount of spice without being overpowering and my mouth still waters thinking about it. They have beet lemonade, rosemary lemonade, unsweetened lemon tea as well as a soda fountain and short beer list. There is additional seating in the upstairs so don’t shy away. I am excited to go back!

The set up is you order and give them your name and they bring you your food. I got the Joanie — veggie burger with avocado, sriracha, and a homemade spicy slaw — which was very good. My only gripe was the service. I ordered a PBR and the guy was like«uh, I don’t know where it is.» I was like it says pabst in red white and blue, and he still couldn’t find it, and their tap selection isn’t big. I thought he was kidding. He had to have some one pour the beer for him. I understand if you’re new but that was weird to me. When we were eating, I watched another server drop an entire beer on the floor. Again, accidents happen, but it just felt like the servers were pretty novice. Maybe it was an off night.

I appreciated their commitment to using natural and local ingredients, but I’ve had much better burgers elsewhere. I had the Adopted Luke, and while the caramelized onions were tasty, I wished there was more of it. There was very little smoked gouda and barbecue sauce as well, and the burger overall just needed more seasoning. The fries were more soft than crispy, although I did enjoy their homemade ketchup. My favorite part was the drinks! Both the lemonade and iced tea on offer were interesting and tasty alternatives to regular soda. I might come back for a quick bite, but I feel like there’s better casual food in the city.

I like what this place is about-real food fast. The menu offers a lot of different options from quinoa and kale bowls to burgers and fries. My problem is that the menu and the thought behind this restaurant don’t translate to reality at this location. I’ve been on several occasions and have ordered the veggie burger each time. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s not. The fries are underwhelming. I get it-they are baked so they lose a little something. But I’ve made baked sweet potato fries at home many times and they are flavorful and good. These fries are not crispy and lack flavor. About the only thing that has been consistent is the vanilla shake. My other issue with this place is the service. There is a woman that works here that is fundamentally unfriendly. I feel bad saying that because everyone has an off day but I’ve been several times and each time she has been working and each time she seems like she hates her job and is so bothered to be there. It’s uncomfortable to order from someone who doesn’t smile, doesn’t seem like she wants to help you, and seems genuinely annoyed that you are ordering. And the real food isn’t fast. It’s the opposite of fast. Today we received all of our food about 15 minutes after we ordered and they didn’t bring my son’s sweet potato fries. The guy who brought us our food said that they were cooking and he would bring them right out. Never happened. And yes, I should have said something but I felt like I shouldn’t have to. I ordered them, I paid for them, clearly I want them. The people working in the kitchen seemed to have zero sense of urgency. There were people standing around in the kitchen and a steady stream of employees coming and going from the back door… I’m assuming to smoke? Which is slightly disgusting and disturbing from a restaurant that in theory is all about being healthy. I don’t like to write a 2 star review. I actually feel bad doing so, but hopefully the owners and management will read this review and will consider the feedback. I really want to like this place and maybe I’ll give it another try sometime but a few bad experiences have turned me away for now.

A co-worker and I went in one Friday night for dinner after getting out at 11:00pm. My parents had picked up a turkey burger with mushrooms, smoked gouda cheese, and BBQ sauce for me once. It was delicious so I wanted to to go back and try some other menu items. The staff was very friendly and it’s a great place to grab a late night bite of food. It’s less greasy than Five Guys and they get all of their food from local sources. This time I got a kale crush smoothie and a side of fries. My friend got sweet potato fries and a chicken sandwich. She loved her chicken sandwich, but like my regular fries better than the sweet potato. The fries had a wonderful seasoning on them, but I wished they were a little crunchier. Their portions of fries were HUGE! My smoothie was delicious and had a perfect blend of veggies. It was a little pricey, but I would go there again for sure. Their hours are great and the food is worth it if it’s late and you want something relatively healthy. They even have a nice selection of beer.

The woman taking my order seemed entirely confused about where she was or how people normally order burgers. I very rarely get asked to spell«Nicole», but I did… and then she asked again because she got lost halfway through typing it. Yikes. I guess it shouldn’t have been a surprise when our burgers arrived with the cheeses swapped(the prep team’s fault, not the cashier). Lucky for me, my husband is awesome and ordered a slightly similar burger and moved the toppings over so I could fix my cheddar craving. We sat upstairs which was almost an entirely different space – quiet, cool, and relaxing – nothing close to the loud chaos on the floor below.(To be fair, it was lunchtime, and I expected chaos.) Overall, I love what this place stands for: locally-sourced meals made with care. The décor feeds into the theme with information about all of the local farms that provide produce and meat for the burger on your plate. While I enjoyed my meal, and the burger itself was tasty, I felt it was a bit on the greasy side by the time I was done eating. I even got a stitch in my side walking back to work. I probably won’t come back in the future — it didn’t amaze me, and it’s sitting rather heavy as I write this. I expected something a little healthier(yeah, yeah, yeah, «healthy burger» is an oxymoron, I know). Though this is more of a 2.5 star on the burger because of the grease, I gave the place a 3 for its cool factor. PS: Don’t forget to download their mobile app and scan it at the register. We got a free bag of fries(which was delicious, though on the small side for 2)!
