Babies R US the Baby Super Store

The staff is friendly. They processed my return quickly. Usually there’s pretty crappy Musaq playing or something, but here, there was just beeping throughout the entire store. No music, just beep beep beep beep beep beep beep. Are they taking inventory? BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Is an alarm going off? BEEP BEEP BEEP. Did somebody steal something? BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. OH MY GOD! I had to leave. Luckily Jimmy John’s is across the parking lot.

They get two stars because they have a large selection and a very convenient registry app. But they lose 3 stars for their TERRIBLE customer service.
If someone from corporate is reading this… either learn how to hire or learn how to train people to be nice. You have a serious problem at this store.
I have a registry here that has made them thousands of dollars, yet ever encounter I have with them makes me feel like I am the scum of the earth. They are incredibly rude.
Their registry is still one of the better deals around, but I feel it is misleading in some ways. You can’t finish out your registry until after your due date… ummm I’m gonna need my stuff before that point. The registry completion discount is only good for ONE day and you don’t get your 10% back until 12 weeks after your due date. They «match» Amazon… except for when they don’t feel like it.
I went in to look at a crib I found online. They didn’t have any floor models, pictures or wood samples for it and said I couldn’t pick it up, I’d have to have it shipped to my house. So I asked if they would match Amazon’s price and they said they don’t do that on online items… ok I guess I’ll buy it for $ 70 cheaper and free two day shipping on Amazon.
I haven’t had any experience with making a return yet but I don’t have high hopes. Nothing anyone has given me has included a receipt which I understand is a deal breaker.

Probably some of the worst customer service I’ve encountered time and time again. They finally lost a customer after my fourth or fifth bad experience. They leave old marketing up for starters. If a mistake is made i.e. something not ringing up as marked/​advertised they act like its your fault and (this has been said to me twice now-​same «manager») they will do it just this one time with attitude. Um excuse me you’ll do it every time until your store can pull it together. Also when things say they are there online I’ve been told «the online store has no idea what we have» WTF! Why is that an option! Why do I feel like I’m giving them customer service when I shop there. For less money and less time wasted I can get ALL that stuff on Amazon which is what is now going to have to happen.

I am so used to Toys R Us, I used to feel like I lived in the Clackamas location when my son was younger. However, I had never been to their spin off until my DIL announced she was pregnant. We went here just to see what all the new stuff was these days for babies. Every generation seems to say, «If I only had that when my babies were little.» I found myself saying that a lot.
I waffled between a two and three star, only because they are usually higher priced than anybody else on stuff and their staff has never had an answer for questions we have. When we were doing a 2 week family car trip with 6 of us, we wanted our grandson to be comfortable, because let’s face it the saying, «happy wife happy life» does not apply when a baby is involved it is more like, «happy baby… Everybody’s happy. unhappy baby. Nobody is happy» and this van was too small for that nonsense. He was 11 months old when we decided it would be a good idea to have him get to know all of us and all the sides of us on a trip from Oregon to South Dakota and all states between.
I shopped a bunch of stuff out online and Amazon had several things cheaper but apparently everyone in America needed a carseat tray for their road trips as well because they were sold out, as was the disposable table covers we were looking for. Babies R US had the next best prices, but they hid the car seat trays and not one employee even knew what it was, despite two of them looking on their own website. They didn’t even have a general direction for us to go in. Finally, we found them with high chairs.
They also had a good sale on a stroller we wanted for the trip, so that is why that got that extra star. I don’t really care for them and they are the last place I generally think of but my DIL has been out there a few times for stuff.

Very rude people working there. I got a baby walker. 2 months ago for my baby shower. It was on my registry + I had my recipt it clearly showed it coast $ 70 I can to return it (unopened box) because I got 2 walkers and obviously I didn’t need both. So I went to return it for a In store credit. They told me they will only return me 2 pennies for it? Like what the hell seriously? She didnt even want to hear it. Even when I told her here is recipt here it is on my baby registry she said she does not care that’s how much she’s giving me. Thank god I didn’t believe her bull I called customer service told them about her and what she said. They asked to talk with her. I don’t know what they told her. But she gave me my money back. And also I got a 20% off discount of my purchase that day. I really hope they fired her. She was just plain rude and disrespectful

We found a crib model that we liked. When we went to buy it, the person helping us said that it was out of stock and oversold in the warehouse, so we’d have to pay an extra $ 40 to have it shipped to our house. It just seems strange to have the model out on the floor, and then tell us we have to pay for shipping because they oversold it. The sales person could not explain it, so we talked to someone on the way out. This woman immediately started arguing with us in the most unfriendly way. I had to stop her berating my poor mom, so we could leave the store. The place is just as expensive as the local places, but babies r us sells the most rickety looking baby stuff, and then tries to charge you extra for their error. I will never enter another babies r us again.

I’m going to give this five stars for one reason, Jessica the manager! She personally walked my wife and I around the store and helped us buy a crib and car seat. She gave us great deals while being super customer orientated! She has kids herself and she was able to give us insight on what to look for in certain products.

First I want to say is this place is amazing! I’ve been continuously shopping here since my daughter was born over a year ago. When we started our registry Carol was really great she explained all cool promotions that were going on and what could work best for us. While we were walking through the store the employees checked on us periodically to make sure any questions we had were taken care of. On our most recent visit we were looking for a new car seat, which is no small purchase. We had an employee, Catherine walk us through the whole decision process and we are thrilled with the purchase we made. I know some people might think they have a strict return policy but I like knowing that I’m not using or letting my daughter have something that someone else took home and possibly messed with. I mean really people how hard is it to make sure you leave the store with the right products. This place is definitely a one stop shop for baby stuff!

First time on a quiet week day night. My wife and I have been searching for the perfect glider and ottoman. We are greeted by and helped by Amanda. She went above and beyond to ensure our glider made it home safely. She even help us get the glider into the car.
It’s a shame the color didn’t work out for us but we will shop there again based on our experience.

Have you ever felt that a store was simultaneously indispensable and appalling? If you’ve never had this bipolar type of experience and wish to, become a Babies R Us customer.
There’s no doubt that I would be bummed if Babies R Us closed, considering it is the best source for «normal» baby stuff at a reasonable rate outside of amazon (yes, you can go to the boutiques for higher-​end, locally-​made or crafty stuff, but sometimes you just need a Nose Frieda for a halfway sane price).
That said, it ASTONISHES me how poorly trained the staff is. I’ve never met a single person there who wasn’t a manager and knew where anything, ANYTHING, is. Need a sound machine? Yeah, we have that. At least I am pretty sure we do. They’re over by… uh, let me check with someone about where they are… [ten minutes pass, you flag down another associate] Sound machine? Uh, I think we may have some… what are they exactly?
The following are items for which the employees were not sure a) what they are, b) where they are located, c) whether or not they are carried by the store, or d) all of the above:
Nursing footstool
Sound machine
Crib projector
Baby mobile arm
Last but certainly not least, A WAY TO HAVE FURNITURE DELIVERED.
The latter item was the most bizarre experience. Three different employees all thought that it was possible to have furniture home delivered, so we wouldn’t have to rent or borrow a pickup truck. None of them knew how to select this option. We spent over 45 minutes sitting at the furniture counter while they figured it out. Seriously?

I went last weekend and as a ftm with baby on the way had lots of questions. Both girls I talked to were very helpful. I would most definitely go back.

Came in here not to long ago looking for a stroller no one was around to help I went to customer service and asked if some one can help me they said someone would meet me there went there stood there for ten min workers were walking around no one helped I kept asking they said in a second I just walked out left called to complain to the manager she said if I came back she would help me. Thanks I was there for 30 min got no help not wasting my time! Horrible customer service!

Store is almost always understaffed, and you have to wait a long time for customer service up front. They often have great sales on baby food, but BEWARE that they also consistently ring you up wrong. I have been overcharged almost everytime I shop there, and when I go back to point it out, they treat me like a criminal or a trouble maker for not just accepting the overcharge. It’s a huge waste of time and effort. Better to pay a little more and shop elsewhere.

They use to have really outstanding customer service. They use to have a wrapping station. They use to have more than one person check. Wish there was another place to shop for baby items.

Never, ever, EVER use the In Store Pick-​up option for Babies R Us when shopping online.
A few weeks ago our car was in an accident, destroying our car seats (they were empty at the time). So I needed car seats stat! So after clearing it with the insurance I jumped online, and saw that Babies R Us had the seats I wanted and offered an optioned where I could pick them up in store within three days. Sweet! Or so I thought.
It turns out we have a friend who had a car seat base I could borrow. So I went to return the base I had picked up the day before. That is when I was told that In Store Pick-​up online orders can only be returned for store credit.
Say What?!! You mean I have a reciept, I have never opened the item, and I bought it less than ten days ago and you aren’t going to honor my return. What?!!
The clerk tried to mumble off something about not knowing what I had paid for the item because it was purchased online. Right… except for that line on my printed out receipt where it shows my purchase price. And how would you give me store credit if you didn’t know the price I paid?
When I asked if I could ship the item back to the online warehouse for a refund, the answer was no, because
considers In Store Pickups to be in-​store purchases. Wait… So online thinks this was an in-​store purchase, and the store considers it an online purchase. Am I being punked?
So I asked to see the manager, and was refused! Apparently, the manager had been the lady on the next register over who a few minutes before tossed off a comment about my clerk being right about the return policy. The manager then retreated to her office having seemingly nothing more to say to me.
So several calls to customer service later I did get my refund. But this was a total customer service fail. If I can’t buy something local, I am now hitting Amazon.

There is no reason for you to ever, ever shop at this Babies R Us.
I don’t care if you are pregnant, your mom is pregnant or your best friend just popped out a baby. Literally every item in this store is $ 3-​$ 100 dollars more expensive than any where else. They get away with charging more than Target, Freddies etc by offering you the guise of «one stop baby shop». I would highly suggest taking your dough elsewhere when the stork comes a’ flying by.

And the first place to start researching the high-​dollar must-​have items is Babies R Us. I am fortunate that this one isn’t far from my house.
While the store is a bit overwhelming upon first walking through the automatic doors, if you go there enough, you’ll get the lay of the land pretty quick.
If you’re only there to buy a gift off a Registry list, print it out there, and use those aisle numbers to your advantage, and you’ll be out of creepy Baby Land quicker than if you hadn’t printed out the registry list.
They have the basics, but along the lines of those niche items I absolutely MUST have, they are without, or they are only offered on their website. Good thing there’s universal wish lists where I can add my needs and wants from multiple retailers.

The moment has arrived! The babies are arriving in my group of gal pals and of course Babies R Us is one of the destinations that are on their babies registries. Because I was busy with other things, I ended up putting off present purchasing until the last minute and many of the items on the registries would be too late to order online so it was much to my surprise that we had a BRU Superstore located off of 82^nd Ave. I was able to get in and get everything I needed right away with the help of a sales associate and get out in under 15 minutes. They have everything you could possibly want for a baby and is my new favorite baby product destination.

On August 3^rd, 2009, D Christopher «Twisted» Lister’s wild and debaucherous mojo passed away due to the sudden onset of incurable baby daddy adulthood. Chris was 37. His mojo was 22.
Close friends say his desire for debauchery fought hard to the very end, but knew maturity was inevitable once he willingly signed up for a Babies R Us rewards card. Family members say that towards the end he was actually making frequent trips to the 82^nd avenue location, and seemed at peace with his impending fate of evenings spent shopping for car seats, crib mattresses, baby monitors and the all important breast pump. When 15% off coupons for diaper bags, sippy cups and strollers brought measurable joy to his life, his mojo was officially declared dead.
Best known for all night acts of depravity and Hunter S Thompson impersonations, his departed mojo is survived by single friends, Hefner’s stamina, Kate Moss’ nasal passages, Courtney Love’s liver, Magnum P.I.‘s mustache and David Duchovny’s libido. Known for its philanthropist side, Chris’ mojo made regular donations to the college funds of Sapphire, Cinnamon and Fantasia, while local brew pubs and organic growers of medicinal herbs were frequent beneficiaries of his generosity.
In lieu of flowers, Chris asks that you please make donations in the memory of his mojo to strippers’ G-​strings, dive bar jukeboxes and your local free health clinic.
