Brenner’s Restaurant

First off, I’d like to say I don’t want to completely blame our server. because I don’t know what kind of day she’s been having, but at the same time. I’ve been a server and everyone knows in customer service you can’t bring your problems to work and expect it to go well. We ordered chicken wings, and after a few minutes of eating we noticed they were raw (bloody, raw. they were so covered in sauce we didn’t notice right away) we sat for a minute and no one came over so I grabbed the other server on the floor and told her. she did not react seriously at all and sort of laughed it off and took them to our server, our server then took them to the kitchen and we could clearly hear her say (from our seat on the other side of the restaurant) «they said these were raw» like we were making it up or something. then she came to our table and asked if we wanted another order of wings? We obviously said no. a few moments later she brought out our meals, I ate a little but my husband barely touched his, another few minutes go by and we asked for a manager, she said there wasn’t one and asked why we needed one, we told her we were just kind of surprised no one apologized for our wings being raw (it wasn’t her fault but the server should always over apologize for something like that, right?) and she said that she did and she took it off our bill. Anyway, then my husband asked why he didn’t get his salad he ordered and she was extremely rude and sort of acted like he hadn’t ordered it earlier. once she brought it out he picked at it then we left. we spoke to the general manager of the hotel and he apologized which we appreciated but it didn’t do much about our service or for the fact my husband and I may get food poisoning on a business trip. just a really awful experience all together. There goes our first night in Portland.

The best chicken fried steak, and great service!!! Not much to look at from the outside, but the food is very good!

This is a hotel restaurant, so I didn’t have high expectations. I was therefore that much more impressed by the great food and service I received! I’m staying at the red lion which is a 5 minute walk away. The walk was well worth it! My server, Terry, was fast, attentive, had great suggestions, and was super accommodating when I told her that I have a gluten-​free diet. Everything is made from scratch, to order, so it was no trouble adjusting the menu for me. I had a huge spinach and dark leafy green salad with green and red bell peppers, mushrooms, bleu cheese, olives, and medium rare sizzling grilled rib eye steak along with a glass of Pinot noir. Total bill: $ 16.95! If you’re staying near the airport, this is a surprisingly great find. HIGHLY recommend.

Absoutley wonderful burgers! However, there was only one waitress for over ten tables. We found this place on Unilocal and decided to give this «little gem» a try. Glad we did! Only downside is that they are not open for lunch.

Brenner’s restaurant is nestled inside the country inn & suites in portland near the Airport. We had a long day of travel getting there and it was our last stop before heading out the next day back to ATX. We order room service, while sitting in the bar. The only person working was busy but super nice and accomodating. She helped me put our order together to carry easily back to our room and I enjoyed a few beers while she was doing her thing. I would def consider this location for food if I knew I was staying at this hotel again. thanks.

I had the salmon dinner. The fish was a bit overcooked, and I pulled out about eight long bones. The only seasoning on the plate was a tasty roasted pepper jam on top of the fish. Accompanied by unseasoned steamed veggies and an okay wild rice. The food was average but the service was very good. My server was very customer oriented and personable. I bet she would have stood on her head if I asked!!! (She got them an extra star in the rating.)

This restaurant is like finding a needle in a haystack. Of all the restaurants around the neighborhood — airport area — you didn’t know there was one this good, close to the airport! It was by accident that we saw this one. We were going to go eat @ the Pacific Grille Red Lion Hotel by the airport but the Open sign wasn’t lit, so we drove on and found Brenner’s instead!
The service was fast, the waiter friendly. .. he was all alone and he was doing everything. We found out later on, he was the manager for the Food & Beverage area, but that was AFTER we’ve gotten our food and almost done eating. No wonder, we were treated right!
I ordered the Northwest Wrap, but one tiny negative I found a sharp bone from my chicken. see photo. I was told they get their chicken from a distributor. I was able to eat only half, it was large, and I took it home. It came with a good serving of fresh fruits and a large half of pickle. Their chicken soup, that hubby got with his hamburger was THE BEST! I could taste a touch of curry, even though I don’t like curry, I could taste it, but that’s what gave it that extra zing, and they always made it from scratch. I will NOT minus a star for my rating, for that sharp part of a wish bone found in my wrap. I didn’t break a tooth, and it didn’t go in the wrong pipes, but I’m glad I caught it before it caused an injury.
He also told me about their complimentary breakfast.
When I mentioned to him, I’m trying to get donations for our church Annual Auction for Feb., he gave me calling cards of people I should contact. I’ll update when I get that donation. With our receipt, he also punched in two meals for future Free Meals card. What more do we need? We’re taken care of, not only for future rooms but meals and TOUR — if we’d like.
Update: I emailed their General Manager, a nice letter about our church auction, also included a Tax Form but that was a week ago. I then did a follow-​up by calling him and leaving him a message. Still NO RESPOND. I’m deleting 1 star. They should at least let me know their reason why or why not they can’t and I will stop badgering them!

They have really great service and excellent price for their quality and quanitity of food they provide. The staff there are extremely nice and friendly, great wait service!
My first experience w/​them was amazing! When they heard what company i worked for, they gave us a box of cookies to bring back to my co-​workers! They even gave us 50% off lunch coupons to use and so i got my entire lunch for only $ 4! Now, that’s what you call a really great deal.
They have an extensive menu and full bar as well as catering options for on-​site events. They’ll work with you w/​prices for meetings, banquets and any functions you wanna throw there. Not only is their menu selection excellent, but they have really great service. More ppl should come here for lunch because they’ll be extremely surprise how good their food is from being inside the Country Inn!
