Chase Bank

i went to the branch inside fred meyer.
i didn’t feel the rep was able to do his job to open an account properly; or allow me to keep things like online password or pin# secret just to myself. this is not good security.
There seemed to be some kind of confusion about proper cultural etiquette also, such as trying to get a handshake out of you the second you first meet the rep. NOOOOO. not for just plain old everyday banking. That’s too much familiarity at that level.
new checks were poorly printed with extra info where it didn’t belong.
Online billpay also puts extra info on same line as the payee name– a «description» they force you to type in or the form won’t submit. (but we can’t actually see the final check that will be sent).
not only that, but they don’t really guarantee arrival of your billpay to the payee. Only under limited circumstances that don’t include covering a late fee if they didn’t allow enough mailing time apparently. The billpay actually goes out at 8pm on the day you have set for the payment! REALLY? that’s awfully late, and won’t go out in that day’s mail if it goes by paper check. This is quite inferior service, compared to my last bank.
The online system messes up your login too many times, if your IP changed etc. Very inconvenient and labourious process to get back access and control of your own account.
I do not feel that this bank has good security-​ensuring and general competence or respect for their customers. they think that denying access to those with the right password and username is somehow the essence of good security, but it’s NOT.
imo, they allow their employees to have too much access info about customers’ accounts, that’s their weak point.
chase Terms of Service makes me feel like they are really looking out for themselves, and not for me the customer hardly much.
I got the sense of them cutting corners, and poor training of employees.
All of this gives me a distressing, unnerving feeling of distrust, so i probably won’t be with them long.

Service, service service. This bank needs some!

It’s a little Chase branch wedged into an armpit of Fred Meyer. Since the Chase ATMs that are more convenient for me don’t take deposits, i have to go here whenever i have checks to deposit.
It’s clean, the employees are friendly, and i’ve never seen a line for the tellers.
