A consistently strong, positive, professional, courteous encounter. Hamburger is great. Fries are amazing. The attention to detail and the quality ingredients are evident and the price isn’t bad. The artisanal buns, fancy lettuce, stone ground mustard.
I’ve been back thrice in the past 2 months. Will continue to go back.
Feedback — Make sure your sodas are cold before serving. Maybe provide a little more ketchup with the fries. I always run out…

Best burger in town. The burger is juicy, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The bun is fresh, the lettuce is crisp and the fries are just simple delicious potatoes. This cart is fantastic.

Wow. So good. Totally worth the 15ish minute walk in the heat wearing jean, a black t-​shirts, and lugging a heavy backpack. I was craving a bacon cheeseburger and was not disappointed. The fries are pretty amazballs, too. There’s so much food you could totally go halfsies with some and still have something left over. You and a friend, could feast on some gourmet noms for less than $ 10 bucks. I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have a huge line like all the time.

Comfortably Yum exemplifies two prominent aspects of the Portland Restaurant Industry.
The first, and quite to the benefit of the little food truck, is the staple within many Portland restaurants to source their ingredients locally. The center of their delicious hamburger features Oregon’s Painted Hill beef, perfectly cooked (in my preference) to a medium rare glow complete with dripping, meaty juices. Filled with pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes, the sand which is flanked by a golden brown Grand Central Bakery bun. Local, sustainable, exquisite.
So why on earth did I leave a meager 2 star review? We come to the second of the two themes within the Portland restaurant industry, which often goes overlooked by locals, but never by out-​of-​towners or those of us in the industry: The hipster mentality in Portland restaurant service that in practice is the exact opposite of what true service is all about. Too many a time have I dined at a restaurant or food truck or similar establishment, and been served by someone who’s last care in the world is you, the guest. They simply have too much going on to be bothered by answering questions, helping with requests, or general politeness.
This is what I experienced today at Comfortably Yum. Both the gentleman and the lady working within the food truck acted as if they didn’t have the time of day to answer a few simple questions I had (what sodas did they supply, how large is the burger, etc — I am next to blind so I could not read the signs). The gentlemen helping me at that moment literally scoffed at me. There wasn’t a line. They weren’t working on any other orders. And when I asked if I could order the burger medium rare, the lady rolled her eyes and said «sure» in an unamused tone. This was one of the first times in a very long time that I did not leave a tip.
As someone in the restaurant industry, I know first hand how hard it is to get a job. There are too many people without jobs in our economy to be affording those who truly act as if they don’t want to work to have the positions. I loved the burger, but the service was awful.

Incredible burgers, especially for a cart. Add the mushrooms, they’re amazing. The grilled cheese is also awesome.

For my first visit… I tried the perfect B.L.T and Fries, I’m a bit of a food snob, being from San Francisco, but Andy of Comfortably Yum only uses the best of ingredients. The bacon is a perfect thickness with just the right amount of crispness and chew to satisfy your palette. The fries are perfect and you will want to return for sure !

Comfortably Yum, I’ve wronged you. I’d walked past this cart countless times and wrote it off in favor of the subpar Thai carts nearby. No more though. Today I was craving a burger and decided to swing by. First off, they actually use good quality meat (beef from Painted Hills) which is a rarity for the carts in this area. Next, it’s incredibly affordable! $ 5 for a burger! $ 2 to add fries (which are also delicious by the way). Lastly, they’re quick. 5 minutes from ordering to getting my food. It looks like they have a veggie burger too, so it’s not just for meat eaters, by the way. This place is my new favorite cart in SW. I’ll definitely be back.

They make the dankest burgers ever! I love the taste of their burgers. They are on the pricey side, but totally worth it in the end.

If you’re looking for a good quality sandwich, this hits the spot!
I ordered the BLT combo, $ 7 for fries and a soda. They use Grand Central Bakery bread, YUM, and the sandwhich otherwise was very good. The bacon was thick and well cooked, chewy not burnt. They used a fair amount of mayo and ketchup, which was nice. They were heavy handed on the lettuce, but I’d have to remove extra lettuce vs wish I had more…
The wait was very reasonable. The prices are also very reasonable. I like that there aren’t too many choices, as they’re able to make what they make very well.
Very happy with my experience here, excited to try other things on the menu!

best french fries in town! I crave them all week long at work and practically run there during my lunch break on Friday’s (the only day of the week I allow myself to eat out for lunch) Also really fast and cute service.

Honestly one of the best burger places in Portland.
Everybody swears by their mushrooms. All my friends who don’t like mushrooms, like them from here.

I go here for the french fries. Don’t get me wrong, their burgers and sandwiches are awesome. But I mainly go for the french fries. It sucks that they don’t make orders of just french fries during the busy time of lunch, but I get it. It’s worth the wait for just french fries after it dies down from the lunch rush. The service is awesome, and it’s definitely one of my go to food carts.

Great burger with pasture raised beef. Happily put it on a lettuce bed for me. Highly recommend the fries.

Best food cart burger I’ve ever had! Burger was complimented with a fresh bun, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato and onion. I ordered fries, too but expected regular russet and got sweet potato (they tasted like sweet potato). Not usually a fan of those but they were good with lots of ketchup. Will try this place again!

5 stars. That’s really all you need to know, right?
This burger was simply delicious. I added bacon and cheese, which I would say was a really good decision on my part. The beef is antibiotic free, which makes me feel good about myself. Also, there was a ton of lettuce and very yummy tomatoes on it. The bun is all fresh and local.
You just have to try it for yourself.

When my boyfriend told me he found an amazing burger joint we have to go to I wasn’t very excited. I’m not fan of meat and will only eat a burger every now and then.
I ordered a cheeseburger with mushrooms and a fry and it was BOMB.
Probably the best burger I ever ate. Makes me wish I was friends with the owner so I can show up to his cookouts and eat amazing burgers for free! :)
The burgers are very flavorful and are served on a delicious fresh bun from a local bakery. The fries taste amazing and are fresh cut. Knowing that the owner uses local organic products makes this place even better. Additionally you cannot beat the great price.
I would recommend this place to anyone. well actually I do.

Everything is great! The taste, the portion, the service, the price, the location. Fries are supper yummy, and so is the mushroom. A great place to get that kind-​of-​but-​not-​too greasy burger you crave.
Plus the people working here are very efficient at taking order and preparing the food. Lunch time at PSU food carts can be quite busy, but I usually have to wait only 5 mins to get my burger here. If the wait is longer, they would let you know before you order. As a busy college student, I find that very helpful.

You know, it lives up to its name.
My friend decided to stop here between Ultimate game and Scrabble games, so I tok his recommendation, as I’d been craving a burger anyway.
I went for the standard ¼ lb. hamburger with fries (very cheap — about $ 6.50 or so!)
Took our food elsewhere, and dug in. Burger was nicely cooked, really fresh bun, and the patty had some good flavor.
But the star of the show was the fries. Holy moly were they good. Freshly cut, just out of the fryer, and a whopping portion size to boot. I ate one fry and knew I’d be a return customer. Good price, good food, good eatin’.

OMG, just went back again today. had a cheeseburger with bacon and mushrooms added. Man, the parmesan mushrooms for $ 1 is a total must for mushroom lovers and for not being a fan of bacon on my burger it was pretty scrumptious as well. Wanted to write an update because I didn’t really touch on how friendly this food cart is. the guy working is really awesome (last time he gave us free mushrooms since it was almost closing time and he didn’t want to waste anything!) this time he remembered my order (with only going there twice) and that’s not an easy feat as the order consisted of 3 burgers all with their own additions and exclusions. I just can’t see buying a burger anywhere else for the time being. I doubt you could find a better burger for under $ 10 anywhere else in portland ($ 5 dollars no cheese, $ 6 with cheese).
