Sarah rocks! She is smart, funny, and fast. Knows whats happening around her and a comic to boot. I would gladly see her every weekend.

A cute lil gem of a ‘dive’ bar on Sandy! I’ve been here a few times now and both bartenders I’ve encountered treated me and my friends like gold. Might be one of the best phillies I’ve had in PDX as well? I can name the number of bars on one hand that take care of business this well in Portland.

Really don’t understand how this place has 4 stars. I’m guessing they told their regulars they’d get a free sot if they rated them on Unilocal. My fiancé and I stopped by here because the food looked good in the pictures. However, everything came out looking like it came from a freezer. I could’ve walked over to Safeway and gotten something better from the frozen food isle. 2⁄3 of the place was closed where the lights were turned off. Things were so dirty I felt like I’d step on a nail. The regulars stared at me like I was an Alien. I would’ve rated this less if I could’ve. The only nice part was the bartender who also looked like she was uncomfortable for treating us like humans.

The atmosphere is fantastic and not what you expect at all. The gentleman behind the bar was easily one of the nicest bartender I have ever encountered in Portland. We came in bombarded with Chiefs fans and were warmly welcomed despite having on rival gear. Plenty of TVs plenty of tables and plenty of attention. We only had room for drinks didn’t try the food. Will make this a semi regular pit stop from now on!

Portland’s verified Hawkeye sports bar. This place is sandwhiched in a stretch of businesses on Sandy, mostly nondescript… exceot for the giant Hawkeyes banner they fly out front for big games. It’s a local bar, not very large, with a little kitchen stuffed into the corner behind the bar. A large shuffleboard table and some video poker machines flank the walls, none of which you’ll be able to get to during an Iowa football or basketball game. Selection is alright, with your domestics(call it comfort beer for midwesterners, who don’t have many craft options back home) and a handful of local micros. Plenty of tallboys and cheap rail liqour, and some better mixers on the back wall. Don’t expect anything too fancy, this place is a working bar that gets stuffed to the seams with black-and-gold wearing transplants on a good weekend. They have rotating food specials during games, like super nachos and pulled, for a decent price, and worth it. *non-Iowa transplants are also welcome, but be careful when trying to compare the PAC10 to our boys in the BIG10. Yeah, go Ducks, we get it…*

We came with a big group and they were amazing! Good service and we ordered pizza that was amazing and they even brought us extra meatballs just cause they were nice and amazing. Not enough good things to say about this place!!!

Wednesdays are trivia night. Do not come to it because more participants can only make it less likely I will win, not more likely. Also there’s a great priced happy hour before 2 pm.

Good food, good beer selection and great staff. No reason to not spend every free minute at this bar. Check out their breakfast and lunch specials, you won’t be disappointed.

Very good Burger and hand cut fries! I was surprised to see a hand formed patty instead of the cheaper frozen hockey pucks that most small taverns around here sell. This place is a winner hole in the wall place in my book.

Great neighborhood bar to watch Chiefs, Hawkeyes or Royals games. Bartenders are friendly and the beer prices are extremely reasonable. If you are looking to watch a game and enjoy a couple beers with some great loyal fans, this is your bar. If you care about how great they pour Guinness than your the one with the problem and you came to the wrong bar. Great people and beer, that’s D’s. Also, high fives encouraged!

D’s is a wonderful place to hangout! They have great staff. They also have karaōke on Saturday nights. You can also watch all sporting games there. Their ribs are amazing! I highly recommend!

I recently discovered D’s while waiting for my Brickhouse Pizza. The owner is the son of Brickhouse and he runs a fine neighborhood bar. Full bar, darts, pinball, and now on Wednesday nights trivia. There are plenty of regulars who make you feel welcome. The only drawback is that they are not within walking distance to my home. Well, they are but most likely I would get lost and stumble into a random yard for a nap.

We saw this location and decided to meet up with another couple to watch the college football final. I got there first and ordered up a simple Coors light. «Sorry keg cooler is out and we have no on-tap beer». No problem, I’ll have a Coors light bottle. «Sorry out». Miller lite? «Sorry out». Okay — let’s change it up, I’ll have a Beefeater tonic. «We don’t have Beefeaters». Just a well gin and tonic perhaps? After one sip my weakly poured gin & flat tonic didn’t impress me. Say it’s cold in here can you turn up the heat a bit? «Our heating is out too». Maybe the bar owner should consider a call to Jon Taffer?

Horrible. Worst bar ever. They had one option on their game day menu. When I asked to order off the regular menu, she said no, and then proceeded to serve the table next to us food from their regular menu. I asked again if I could order from the regular menu and was again told no. They were rude and I will never ever go there again, I was appalled with this place.

Definitely an essential pinball location for Portland, one that I don’t think gets its due. I have only been a couple of times when I lived up in that area but always felt welcome. The place was usually deserted, perhaps with a regular or two slowly disintegrating at the bar. It appears this place is some kind of sports bar but I have never been there when a game was on. At other times, though, you’ll probably have unfettered access to a pretty good Addams Family machine, as well as Twilight Zone, plus a couple more rotators. The bartenders may be earthy or gabbing to their friends but with $ 4 microbrews I had no complaints. Check this place out!

Great sandwich and cold beer! D’s is one of my default lunch spots when in the area. It’s like hanging out at a friend’s house instead of a bar. That’s how I like it.

This is a great little bar. The people were friendly, and the service is good as well. They have plenty of games to entertain yourself with while you drink, and college sports stuff everywhere. I’m assuming that’s what the play the most on the big screens. The best part for me was the pool table they had for 50 cents a game, as well as the darts, and pinball machines. Their beer selection could use an improvement, but their liquor selection is decent. I don’t drink Guinness so I can’t verify if the previous reviewer’s rant is true, but they poured my Blue Moon, Jäger, and Jack just fine… I ordered some food while I was there as well, and they got it to me in a decent amount of time. It didn’t taste bad, but you shouldn’t expect a 5 star restaurant style dish from a small bar anyways. This place was a lot better than I had expected. I mainly only went because the sign outside caught my attention. It was however a little confusing when I went inside to find out that it is called D’s Bar instead of Driftwood Tavern like the sign says.

This is a great neighborhood bar in a sea of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai places. Small and friendly, eventually you will get to know everyone in the place. Yeah, it can be chatty there, even with the bartender on duty, but just dive right into the conversation. Really, it’s usually ok to do so. Food: It’s awesome! Good, American food. They have menus, however its always a good idea to ask if they have something on special, cause a lot of times they’ve made something yummy. Oh also, the pizza place next door is owned by mom, its really good and you can bring it into D’s. Hopefully this summer, we will be able to take out drinks outside and sit at tables!

The bartender poured the Guinness draught into the glass in one go. This is absolutely not how you pour a Guinness draught. Like to the point of being blasphemous. It should not be in my hand 5 seconds after you grabbed the glass out of the cooler. As expected the $ 4 Guinness is disgusting. I feel like they should be stripped of the privilege to serve it. Aside from the crime against humanity and beer, the bartender/waitress spent the duration of our time there loudly gossiping with three of her friends, unabashedly serving them free drinks.
