This place has closed down. I tried going today but no go. Had to go to the other pupusa establishment on SE82nd, which was a first time experience for me and it was highly disappointing. You can see my review under their Unilocal page.

Going to the Pupuseria Factory is like a very short trip to Central America. It is authentic and delicious. We had 3 different types of pususas, a patacon and maduro for desert. Don’t let the basic décor fool you. This is top notch food. Cooked to order. It is fresh, hot, and tasty. Please go and support these great people.

Hit and miss for me, with the edge going to the hits. Their version of Huevos Rancheros is very good and a deal at $ 6.95. The same goes for the Pupusa offerings; then again, most Pupusas taste the same to me. One of their marquee items, the Bistec is okay, but not for $ 9.99. Love the rice here! Drink offerings need to be advertised a little better. I look forward to trying some of the other, more creative dishes. The Owner and staff are very nice.

First visit everything was delicious the gentleman who helped is was delightful! So much so My daughter went back the very next night at a few minutes after 9pm, same time we were there the night before and she was told they were closed. I called and a gal answered the phone asked if she could help me I tried to make a take out order at 9:15 and was told they are closed. When I asked about the 9:30pm closure time on their website and menu I was told it takes 30 minutes for clean up… Wouldn’t that mean they close at 9pm!!! For a small restaurant like that they should probably take all the orders during business hours as possible! I’ve worked over 15 years in the service industry and every establishment I’ve worked in serves up until close… 5 stars for the food and service on 12/4, 1 star for the non-service on 12÷5…

Heard alot about this place through various media. We decided to go today and check it out. Ordered our food and after a 30 minute wait for two orders of pupusas our food arrived. The masa was soggy and the fillings were non existant! What a disappointment. Also the silverware was filthy which tells me that their water temperature is not hot enough. Tables were not clean either. If we don’t get sick it will be a miracle. Not sure what all the hype is about with this place.

Finally got around to eating at Pupuseria and so glad I did. I’ve had pupusas before at a mexi joint in downtown PDX. They were more corn masa and cheese, and thick like a hockey puck with little flavor. Do you ever eat a place and halfway through can’t wait to go back even though you’re not even done with what you ordered? It’s that kind of place! The papusa here are somehow lighter and 10 times better. They have VEGAN(Soyrizo!) and vegetarian papusas, plus plates, burritos and tacos. I had a vegetarian papusa with cheese, loroco(sp) flowers and beans I think. It came with a side of warm tomato sauce and killer cabbage/jalepeno slaw. My partner had 2 vegan papusas, and we split a fried plantain with honey(hold the cojita, plz). It was a sweet plantain and not sure what they did — deep fry it? Very sweet and even after sitting for 10 mins still too hot! As other reviewers said, they serve Columbian, Honduran, Mexican and El Salvadorian food. I want to go back and try more!

I ordered take-out for dinner on a Saturday night and had trouble deciding what to order on their varied menu. Everything sounded delicious! I ordered 5 different dishes and though the wait was pretty long(I think it took 20 minutes) the food was very tasty with great flavors. Not to mention it’s the only place to get latin food in the neighborhood. I will definitely be going back!

I was so excited when i saw that this Pupuseria opened up like 1 block from my house. Since one of my best friends is from El Salvador I about lost my mind and so did she. Now honestly this place is small and its like the hole in the wall type of joint. If you are looking for fast quick service and things to be like a high end Andina or some other South American joint that’s not going to happen here. This is the, I saved 20 thousand dollars while working my ass off pumping gas at Arco and I am really good at cooking my countries ethnic food so everybody in the family, lets open a Pupuseria type of place. It is the type of spot you want to support because these are everyday people like you and me living the American dream~ The service is O. K, i mean they are really nice, its like a family thing and I don’t think they understand the entire order execute type of service style, however the food is REALLY good. I took my friend Jeannie there(who is El Salvadorian) and she was so impressed with the food and said it tasted just like the food in her home country. If you are going there for something other than the Pupusias then don’t go. The Carna Asada tacos are very good, my daughter loved them and the fried plantain is off the chain good too. They are new to the restaurant biz, from an other country so cut them some slack. This isn’t Taco Bell people… duh~ Try it you might just like it! I have been back three times…

My bf had grabbed one of the to go menus last week and we kept looking at the pictures of the food, wanting to go so badly. We walked in on a weeknight about half an hour until closing. The menu that is printed on the wall and the photos of the food are really nice. I ordered the 2 taco dinner — i wanted a shrimp and steak taco, but was told I had to choose two meat tacos, so I ordered the carnitas and the steak with a shrimp taco on the side. I actually wanted to try the pescado taco, but when I asked what the fish of the day was, the girl at the counter didn’t know — when she asked the woman who was cooking, she answered — filet. Filet of fish??? What kind of fish??? They just simply didn’t understand… My bf ordered one chorizo taco and a flat doughy corn cake(I forget what it’s called) with eggs, chicken and cheese. We sat down at one of two tables that was available — the other table was right next to a cart filled with bus tubs of dirty dishes. The table we chose, happened to be dirty. As a server myself, I hate when people sit at a dirty table, but we had no choice. We had asked for water and 1 soda, which we never got, so my boyfriend had to get up and get them. Our food was brought out pretty quick, but the girl behind the counter delivered our food with dirty hands. It looked like she had been doing dishes and scrapping leftover food off with her hands and didn’t clean them off before she brought us our food. I ate the steak and shrimp taco, which were ok, and the beans. The carnitas was so dry, we brought it home for our dogs. The rice was tasteless and dry, even salt and hot sauce didn’t help. My bf didn’t like his food at all. The corn cake had so much melted cheese on top of it which looked like it had been stuck in the microwave because he could peel it off and throw it like a frisbee if he wanted to. We boxed the food up anyway and took it home — we ended up giving it to our chickens… One other thing about this place. The way they have the tables set up is very strange. It’s not a very relaxing or inviting dining atmosphere. I would have expected a more homey feel, but I felt like I was in a cafeteria. We will not be going back.

Finally someone opens a place that serves Colombian food. They also have dishes from El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico. We have had the Pupusas which are excellent and the Arepa con Todo which was very good. The Empanadas are worth a try. Make sure you spoon on plenty of the colombian salsa. Give this place a try. You may have to wait but it will be worth it.
