If you wear a lot of black, grey, navy, and the like– you’re covered. Also about 8 or so years back these guys must’ve hired some proper designers with a fondness for the best quality fabrics and unique styles. I hate boring clothes and these are not boring. If I’m going to spend a decent chunk of change on a funky mohair sweater it better last. The silks, the beading, the cashmere– it’s all amazing here, it’s expensive but worth it, if you have a good eye you can put together an outfit that takes you from Audrey Hepburn, to Talitha G with a few vintage bits you may already have. I wish sometimes that the the brighter colors wee more deep than the jewel tones, but I’m grateful to this place for basics. Yes it’s expensive but the colors don’t fade and the quality is worth it. Trust me, it’s worth the drive — even if you hate snooty malls like I do.

Eileen Fisher(the brand) makes clothes and accessories in a good range of colors, often gorgeous! The neutrals are always available in EF stores and departments everywhere. This store carries a painfully small range of colors. No doubt it’s orders from above. I’ve been stopping in since the store opened over 5 years ago and, except for a rare exceptions, am always underwhelmed by the grey, taupe, brown, and black choices. The people who work here are reasonably helpful, will check sizes for you and help with whatever you want. My gripe is the painfully limited color choices.
