We ate here for dinner last night and it was borderline 3.5 stars. I have had better food at other places, but for what else was in the surrounding area this is a good pick. My chicken Kabob was pretty tender though almost flavorless. A bit pricey too for the portion that you get, but this is Bridgeport after all. A few pieces were a little dry, and luckily the sauce that was served with it was plentiful to make up for it. The falafel was the big disappointment. I was really looking forward to having yummy falafel. It was pretty charred on the outside and dry inside. The components that make it up were tasty though so it was a shame they absorbed the burned flavor. I ate them anyway. What was really nice though is that I could substitute the side of rice for falafel without the waiter batting an eye. Props there! He was also a really nice server with no complaints from us. I was going to try the baklava to go, but passed on it as it looked a little dried out in the dessert case. I will go back and try a couple of the other things I have seen people review. Blue Tangerine beats any fast food and for sure PF, and California Kitchen, type of fare that is otherwise offered at Bridgeport. I recommend them for sure.

We love Greek/Mediterranean food. My folks came to visit, so we thought we’d try here. Bad idea. The wait staff is indifferent. The food — bland and boring. There are so many good restaurants in Portland, why bother with mediocre?

We were all ready to celebrate a birthday at Blue Tangerine. I checked the web site for hours of operation and it said open until 9:00 mon-wed 10:00 thur-sat(same as Unilocal lists) We showed up after a movie on a Thursday to have dinner at 8:45. We were told they were closed, would not seat us. When I mentioned that the web site stated they were open until 10:00. The response was«Yea, I know we should change that» I explained that we had planned a special birthday dinner we were just told«oh well» I cannot patronize or spend money at an establishment that treats customers that way.

I am on a roll… nearly all reviews are average of late. What’s this world coming to? Ok, 3.5 stars because they are local. Blue Tangerine is average. Considering we only have 1 restaurant attempting to offer Mediterranean type food in this area, it’s pretty good. BUT if I had to compare to SEPDX similar cuisine, this is just average. Food is a bit bland and the meat has been Sahara(desert) dry on 2 trips to this place. Seriously in need of spoonfuls of Tzatziki on the kabobs to avoid Heimlich Maneuver. However, There are a lot of choices for meza/starters which are pretty good. They also offer quick service if you need it. I just like my food with more flavor… but that’s me. Maybe we hit this place on a bad night(during the week)? We’ll try it again when the plethora of people are filling up bridgeport at(gag) the chain restaurants(you know who you are: Calf Pizza Kitchen, PF, Romano’s)! Why we EVER let those crap chain restaurants in Bridgeport, I’ll never know. (oh yeah, buck$…from strong economic corporations) Ok, so those last few lines had nothing to do with this review, but bridgeport, in general. Then I give you permission to stop reading 4 lines ago. :)

I found myself at the Blue Tangerine without hearing any reviews, and I was pleasantly surprised. They served good Mediterranean food for a decent price. My companion and I shared the Falafel Sandwich, the Mina Caesar and the Margherita Flat Bread Pizza, and we enjoyed all three items. With the average entrée price of $ 10.00, the food quality was definitely worth the price. Unfortunately, the server was not very attentive and the ambiance was bland, but overall it was a good experience. If I happen to find myself at Bridgeport Village again, I would not hesitate to eat at the Blue Tangerine; however, I would not make a special trip just to eat there.

Good food for the price. Decent Service. Bland atmosphere that could use polish, but still clean and pleasant.

Recently I had been to Blue Tangerine for dinner with my office colleagues. The food was good, however, I have never experienced a worst service like this before! There were only two servers with no coordinating uniform! I have never seen before a server taking order from one end of the table from a person who is sitting on the other end of the table(we were 10 people)! Absolutely no friendly smile. Our first three choices from their wine list was not available, so we have to go with whatever they had(no choice our part)! It was a bad service!

Wanted to try a new place for quick lunch and was bold enough to attempt Bridgeport traffic and parking at lunchtime to finally try Blue Tangerine. I chose the lamb souvlaki and it was wonderful. Service was OK, but not exceptional. My friends who come here more often say this is typical. Although, I have to compliment the guy, because he immediately offered to set us all up with individual checks(cool move since there were eight of us). Nice décor as well with a faux tent draped from the ceiling. One wall is dominated by a large mural of the Mediterranean and I just daydreamed about all the places I’ve already visited and those I still want to see someday… Also, keep your Bridgeport movie ticket or shopping receipt handy and they’ll give you 10% off your meal.

Extremely fresh food that’s full of flavor, exceptional service, relaxing décor, no wait for a table(we got a booth for only 2 people!), open kitchen(I like to see what’s going on in there), reasonable prices, and healthy eating to boot… what’s not to love? I had the chicken kabob with saffron rice and shirazi salad. Everything perfectly prepared and mouth-watering. My husband had the gyro and he actually moaned at first bite, a very good sign. We’ll be back for hummus and dessert!

We really liked our dinner at Blue Tangerine! Yes, there was a wait but it was 7pm on a Saturday so we had expected that. They seated us much faster than they originally predicted, I think we waited about 10 – 15 minutes. No biggie. It is small inside but not so crowded you feel uncomfortable. We had ample room and didn’t feel rushed even though it was crowded. It is decorated really cool inside, I loved the mural. I got the hummus and falafel appetizer along with a bowl of lentil rice. Everything was so good, quite spicy. The hummus had a nice kick too it, I couldn’t identify what was in it but I thought it may have been paprika. They give you a lot of pita, that was nice. The falafel was quite good, very fresh, not greasy at all. The lentil rice was really great! Paul got the chicken stromboli which he liked. He also had quite a bit of the lentil rice, he really liked that. His meal came with a salad which I had part of and it was quite good. It was a nice meal, I would totally go back there.

Why do I expect when I go to Bridgeport Village on a Sat night that I can eat anywhere without a 1 – 1.5 hour wait? Stupid. PF Changs 1.5 hr wait Ca. Pizza Kitchen 1 hr Blue Tangerine 15 minutes! Hurrah. A smallish Mediterranean restaurant with food in cases, but table service at dinner and a full kitchen. Not a full bar. A wine selection that fit the size of the restaurant with options from Greece, Italy, Australia. Excellent hummus, I could have eaten that all night. Greco Stromboli — 2 huge puff pastries filled with ground beef, red onion, feta; cucumber sauce; olive and tomato salad on the side. Slightly spicy and yum. 3 slices of baklava(1 slice too many post large meal): Lacked pistachioness for my taste, and the honey was a bit overpowering. The service was quick and friendly. We were in and out with plenty of time for the movie. No Country For Old Men — a movie that will leave you disconcerted no matter how satisfied you were with dinner.

Blue Tangerine is inside the Bridgeport village and the ony reason I was there for Crate and Barrel. BT stood out from all other Bridgeport dinner options so gave it a shot and it worked. I started with the hummus and that immediatly put BT on my 5* Unilocal line. Gyro was equally impresive and BT clung on to 5* line. I was stuffed but didn’t wanna pass on a dessert so I got the Tiramisu to go. After a 45min drive back to the hotel, I turn the TV on and open the Tiramisu, it smelled funky and tasted not good so BT lost a star and ended up on 4 star Unilocal line. I get a(-)ve star for not getting the Baklava. Hummus Gyro Tiramisu /\ /\ /\ | | | | | | X________X____5Star Line ______X | | | |____4Stars O | . — — . –|– | |”” ””””‘| O /\ __| L —O — — O– | –|– /\ Me at BT Me at hotel I was confused as I entered since I could see all the cold appetizers in a buffet bar but it’s no different than any other restaurant, you sit down and order, wait for your food, eat, pay and leave! I guess they used be like cafeteria style like Elizabeth pointed. Next time I am in Bridgeport I will go back here for hummus and gyro and will not get the Tiramisu.

Blue Tangerine makes for fun visual imagery and is a pretty unique concent – this is exactly what you get when you enter the restaurant. The atmosphere is fun and casual but maintains a nice classy feel. For example, the menu is posted high on the wall and you place your order at the counter and then sit down and its table-service from there on. If you order an appetizer, they hand it to you immediately and you bring it to your table. However, this is far from«cafeteria-style» dinning. Instead, there is an incredible attention to details in the decoration, the planning of the unique style of service, and to the ambiance. Aside from that though, the meditteran food was divine. Divine(I’ll say it again just in case you thought I was being dramatic the first time, but this re-emphasis of «divine» is intended to prove that I really really mean it). If hummus is even remotely your thing, you should try the hummus appitizer plate. The portions were huge during lunch and I could have easily split my entrée with a friend(I probably should have actually – but its so hard to stop eating something that tastes SO good). I did split the dessert though: a perfect rendition of baklava with honey drizzled over the top. The food was fresh and delicious, the service was friendly – our waiter even made a few helpful suggestions, and the overall experience was fun and relaxing.
