Great resale shop in my neighborhood! It is my go to place before the regular stores especially when I have a special occasion. They have a great variety, but I think specialize in designer items. I got a fancy dress, heels and a necklace for $ 100. Less than I probably would have paid for a dress! And all like new! Great staff that helped me complete my look and give fashion advice.

I can’t believe I didn’t know this store was so close to my house… anyway, I happened to drive by it and instantly pulled over to check it out, as most of my wardrobe is from second-hand shops, including my work clothes. The store is bright, open and things are well-arranged into sizes/colors. They have VERY good brands and quality. This does mean their prices were not as low as you will find at, say, ReRun or Village Merchants. However, I also did not have to wade through lots of junk to find a pearl. I tried on a few items and one thing fit perfectly and I was thrilled to have found it – a pair of Banana Republic linen pants, grey pinstripe, perfect for work. Only $ 22, which is pretty awesome for a nice pair of pants that fit me well and look professional.(For what it’s worth, there were also two REALLY cute dresses that I was dying over, but one was too small and one was too big. Blerg.) THEN I got on their mailing list and got the goodie bag that included a darling, creatively made coupon, a keychain whistle AND a cute pair of earrings? Don’t mind if I do! I will not be able to come in here every week(like I’ll do with Village Merchants), but when I need nice work clothes this will be my go-to spot!

HWGA is absolutely the best consignment store in Portland. They are attentive and remember me every time I go in(ok, I go in a LOT but still…). Many of the peices I buy still have the original retail tags on. I have purchased numerous Coach, Banana Republic, Loft, Calvin Klein etc. peices from this store. Value added for HWGA is their email list and wish list program. I love getting their emails each week and it’s very easy to put things on hold that you see in the email. Wish list: I wear size 11 shoes which can be hard to come by. Each time HWGA gets new size 11 shoes in they send me an email with beautifully written descriptions and pictures. Tricks for shopping here: Go through EVERYRACK and look at EVERY item. Sometimes sizes can get mixed up, and different labels size differently. Try EVERYTHING on that you are thinking about(again, different labels size differently). Also, you have to go to both stores. Plan enough time for that to happen. It never fails that if I don’t see a whole lot at one store I clean up at the other. Love this store!

I had book marked HWGA several months ago and had time after work on Friday. The store is really cute, clean and organized. The young woman behind the counter was helpful but not pushy. I’m a fan of that. They do have some high end items but they have some reasonably priced things too. I found a Chico sweater, a dolman sleeve sweater, a fuschia sleeveless blouse and a lace cami. All for $ 60! I mentioned that I was a new customer and got a little goody bag. Nice coupons and a cute pair of earrings. I think this will be a regular stop for me. I like the store, selection and service. Keep up the good work, HWGA.

This is a well organized and clean retail store. They have many designer things and that seems to be their focus. I’ve went in there a few times and it seems that most of their sizes stop at about 12. And most of their shoes stop at about a 10. So, I haven’t purchased anything from there yet. I did take in a couple pairs of new shoes I received as a gift and they were returned to me as they did not sell. The first person I dealt with in there was very pleasant and happy to have my shoes as an addition to their inventory. Later, I took in some items, each item, only worn once and decided that they weren’t for me, some shoes and some sweaters for fall. The person I dealt with on that day took them in the back and brought them right back up and said sorry none of these items will work. When I was leaving I asked if they were not the right season. She said they are exactly what we are looking for only they are worn. I said, Ok, and left. I guess wearing them one time wears things out. I found that interesting as I was browsing the rack that day I saw a sweater for sale with cat hair on it. I guess that wasn’t too worn. I probably won’t make the trip back over there again.

Fantastic! Well organized, I came in on a whim and found some killer brand new boots and a gorgeous fall cream sweater that, perfectly enough, goes with the boots! As a new customer I got a free gift which was a beautiful pair of earring and gift cards! I’ll definitely return, VERY high quality stuff and wonderful helpful sweet gals! Yay!

I only live a few blocks away so I pop in occasionally to see if there’s anything cute on the racks. I have terrible childhood memories of shopping at Deseret for secondhand clothes so I’ve always been hesitant but now I wish I hadn’t waited so long to shop here! I bought two dresses for $ 20 each. One was Free People. Another resembles a dress Anthropologie might sell. They’re both in great quality… for all I can tell, they’ve never been worn! I love how this shop doesn’t have that musty second hand smell to it. They definitely do a good job picking out their pieces. It was fun to receive a cute pair of earrings for being a first time customer, too! There’s a coupon in the 2013 Chinook Book, too…

This is a great little shop with an upbeat vibe, and very friendly salespeople. The brands are mostly mid-range(Banana Republic, Nordstrom brands), with a few of the higher end labels(Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney). The day I was there was definitely a high-traffic-day, and it was during the week. Seems to be very popular.

I have shopped an consigned here many times. I’ve always gotten fair prices both on thing I’ve consigned and things I bought. This location is a little more business casual and high end than the other location. It’s worth a stop in if you’re in the area. It’s clean, bright and well organized. Their email list gives nice coupons once and awhile. I used to be an employee at HWGA but I continue to shop and consign with HWGA as a plain old«civilian.»

Yo don’t have to spend a fortune to be a Fashionista. Just ask me! I love designer clothes but my face is in the dictionary next to «Champagne taste on a beer budget». That being said, I’m all about trading in, and up. I’ve been taking my clothes to HWGA for about 5 years now. I never make a penny; spending my profit on more new-to-me clothes, but that’s part of the fun. Let someone else pay $ 100 for a dress they’ll wear twice, then sell it to me for $ 15. HWGA has a lot of Coach, D&B, Kate Spade bags. They have tons of designer jeans ranging from Seven to all Mankind to True Religion and shoes between Charles David to Jimmy Choo. They also have clearance racks that you must check out. It’s where I’ve found all my best buys! After all, true fashion doesn’t go out of style, it just goes out of season. My feelings used to get hurt when they’d turn away my fall sweaters — in the summer — so I had to keep reminding myself that I am not there to buy sweaters either. Der! You must bring in clean, stylish, «seasonally appropriate» items. There is also ton of free street parking so you take take your time browsing their racks without worrying about plugging the meter or moving your car.

Cute clothes and very updated styles. These folks are on top of their game. They will keep an eye out for you if you have any requests(shoes, slacks, tops, dresses, etc.). They’ll let you know when your size or color comes in. Their stock changes fairly regularly so it’s a good place to visit every couple of weeks or so.

I’ve been shopping at HWGA for years and highly recommend it to all my friends. I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I stop in often and find wonderful treasures and bargains. I appreciate the owners dedication to her business and to quality resale clothes. Thank you! Wendy
