The sushi wasn’t fantastic but service was good and there was plenty of food to go around. The variety is also very good, and the price was very reasonable. I love being able to have a little bit of a lot of different things. This is pretty good for a quick lunch.

Yeah if you are here for the happy hour and for the cheap sushi, maybe it rocks your boat. But totally didn’t move mine. I came in at the time with regular rates and picked up a bunch of sushi from the belt, which totalled about $ 18 and the quality was maybe 1.5÷5 at best. You are mich better off going to a quality sushi place and getting one quality sushi roll instead. The service was not good either with noone willing to explain the concept. Will definitely not recommend this place.

Their service is rather good which was impressive for a train sushi place –most have the most tragic service ever. Their salmon nigiri was pretty tasty and I was impressed as to the freshness for a train sushi go round. Everything seems pretty fresh. Most of the rolls are pretty standard and good if you enjoy a lot of cream cheese and fake crab. Personally I was wishing they offered more on their train for that but you can order from the chefs.

Flies. Uncovered food. Flies landing on uncovered food. Dirty dishes. Dirty facilities. Slow service. Unattentive staff. Bottom line… won’t be eating here again.

Choose SUSHILAND if you want sashimi and«more traditional» sushi Choose SUSHI&HOTPOT if you want so so sushi and hot food such as udon, chicken katsu don or sukiyaki The food was decent enough for a quick lunch but not excellent. I had a couple of rolls and a tempura udon. The udon broth was not very nice, very salty and had no flavor. The staff and atmosphere was nice though. It was very busy at lunch

I was not impressed with this place. Was shopping in the area and craving some hotpot and found this place. It wasn’t busy so got seated fairly quickly and service was okay. Ordered the personal hotpot and was thoroughly let down. I was embarrassed for them that they serve this stuff. It was more or less a ‘hotpot’ than a ‘hotbowl’ of noodle soup. There was barely any meat and broth was salty. If you have never had hotpot before please do no think they are all like this and there is definitely better out there. Next, onto the sushi train. I went during the happy hour time so price of $ 1.10 for each plate was better deal than regular price because I would not come for regular price here. Sushi was mediocre and not the best. Some were warm and seems like its been out a while. I usually eat at least 10 – 20 plates when I go to sushi, but with this quality I only had about 5 here. I was really excited with the name and some good reviews I read, but in the end I was disappointed and left with displeasure. I do not recommend.

The«Everything for one price» sushi night is awful. First off its not very good quality and second it’s all the cheap things you would get at a sushi bar. If you want Hamachi or Unagi you order it special and then it’s the usual expensive price. It’s understaffed and overworked so expect a long wait up front to pay your bill and almost as long a wait to get service before then!

I can’t truly say anything bad about this place. Their sushi selection was a bit sub par on the standard fare(i.e. Nigiri, California rolls, Tuna rolls, Philly rolls…) but, the ladies that served us were super friendly despite being rushed by the amount of customers they had. I appreciated that they could remember our simple orders and when we got complicated on them, they took their pads out to note them. I felt that spoke volumes about their customer service. My drink never ran dry and when I encountered a problem with an item, they were quick to correct it. It’s the service that took this review from three to four stars Take the time to try one of their bowls of food and supplement that with sushi.

WORSTRAMEN&SUSHIINPORTLAND!!! RUNAWAY!!! I was tricked into eating at this bad restaurant after experiencing a horrible meal last time. Thinking that it would be safer to order a ramen dish instead of the days old sushi rotating on the 7 – 11 wiener assembly line, I made a very bad decision. I ordered the Kimchi ramen. The server who barely spoke English actually laughed when I ordered this peculiar item. What did she know that I didn’t? While waiting, I spent a few minutes watching the grotesque passage of days old fish and shrimp rotating on saucers before my eyes. The mood lighting, lets nix that, the cheap lighting in the restaurant is very low in illumination which works great when you are trying to determine in the near dark if the fish is either 3 days old or 5 days old. None of the people working behind the sushi counter were Japanese, a very troubling sign. They knocked out sushi rolls like McDonalds hamburgers, assembling them in seconds flat. Of course subpar rice, old fish, and seaweed that fell off the back of a truck are easy to miss mash together. When my Kimchi ramen arrived the first thing I noticed was the dishwater broth and nasty kimchi. Yes, kimchi has a funky smell and is an acquired taste, but this crap looked like it was from the bottom of a latrine. The 20 cent noodles and old onions did nothing to up the standard of food. I couldn’t muster a bite of the squalid filth. I left in a hurry never to return. STAYAWAY!!!

I was traveling through Portland and happened to be staying at a nearby hotel. After asking about restaurants I was directed to this mall area where there are plenty of restaurants. The driver told me about this place and he said, «Better than nothing if you want sushi» Well, that’s about right. It was o the lower side of fine. The happy hour was a great deal, but many of the items prob should not be on the carousel so long. I had a little sushi and a chicken dish. The food was not bad, though not sure if I was just going through Asian food withdrawals by this point in my travels… The service was excellent, so the lower rating is more for the sushi set-up than anything else.

Sushi wasn’t very good… But it was edible. the main reason why I am giving them 1 star is because my friend and I came here for a late afternoon lunch, & everything was fine. We sat there waiting for the waitresses to come and give us our check, for a long time, so we could go to the register and pay for our meal. I kindly asked one of the waitresses if we could get our check and with the most snobby attitude she said«uh yeah. Hang on.» We waited another 15 minutes or so, and we saw that she was writing other people their checks, & she obviously made eye contact with us plenty of times and stuff but wasn’t doing her job. She did not look happy at all, & she was really rude. She should get fired. It wasn’t until a total amount of 40 minutes of waiting, that we were able to get our check and leave after we were done eating. I will not be coming back to this place.

I was waiting for my friends to arrive, but found out their flight was delayed so I grabbed a quick dinner by myself. Conveyor belt sushi is good for going solo. Waited awhile to get seated since it was full but the ladies were nice and made sure I wasn’t skipped as more people trickled in. Pretty ok tasting sushi but I don’t like the prices. I think it’s a bit too steep for the quality they’re making. They do offer other Japanese dishes, including ramen, as well as Korean dishes. Service is really good here and the ladies are great. They’re attentive and can easily be flagged down if you need anything. The sushi makers are quick and effifcient. They make sure the belt is filled and will go out of their way to make a roll that’s not yet on the belt.

Take it from a sushi sensei, don’t go here if you like sushi. I was craving sushi, so I decided to give this place a try despite the 2.5 stars in rating. The only thing that was tolerable here was the unagi(eel). Why? Because it was cooked. If I ever have to eat here again, I will only be eating cooked items. I ordered salmon, eel, yellow tail, and squid nigiri… the yellow tail and squid were not edible. I took half bites and just stopped even trying to eat them. I ate a couple of pieces of salmon and gave up. The only thing I finished was the eel. I will leave you with this if you still aren’t convinced– raw fish is NOT fresh here. I stopped eating, because I was concerned for my stomach. If that doesn’t tell you how«fresh» the raw fish is here, I don’t know what will. I’m willing to give the cooked items a try next time. By the way, they take orders by the plate(2 pieces nigiri). I was ordering by the number of nigiri, which turned out wrong(got my order in double).

I’ve been trying to eat hear ever since this place opened and it always looks jammed and SRO so I pass each time. I finally found a way in. Get there when they open. Now, I didn’t go over to this side of town but since I was there I thought, why not try it. Place is low key and most of the seating, naturally, is at the conveyor belt. A lot of different plates and they have a pricing guide, based on the color of the plates. Fun stuff. It’s not the best sushi I’ve ever had but OK for the price and two of us got out of there for $ 20, so not all bad. I’d try it again, but as I suspected it would not be worth lining up at the door for. It looks like they have take out as well, so that’s always an option. I’d try it again.

We were hungry & the sushi was just ok. There is one girl that has great customer service. The other people were meh. They have a happy hour Sunday –Thursdays starting at 6:30 pm & are $ 1.10 per dish from the rotating track. They have gluten free soy sauce which is great for those that need it. They really need to scrub the floor because I felt like I was at a 70’s run down movie theater when my shoes were sticking to the floor as I walked to pay the check. I would like to see smiles on the people working and better customer service. Even if you are busy you should not slack on the service… ever.

Sort of bummed that their happy hour is now $ 1.10 instead of $ 1… It doesn’t seem like much, but it seems like they should have adjusted the price on their beverages(required to get beverage to get happy hour,) and kept the $ 1 plates. It’s your typical sushi go round, nothing special, but easy and quick. The whole reason I like cheap sushi go round is the sesame balls, I could eat those all day. But for happy hour they take the serving down to 2 pieces instead of the standard 3. A 3 piece serving is normally $ 1.25, happy hour plates are $ 1.10… Makes no sense.

My fiancée and I stopped in New Years Eve because every place else had a line and we couldn’t come to a compromise on what we wanted aside from sushi but since it was New Year’s Eve we didn’t want to drive because crazies are on the roads then… The place was near empty — something that should’ve called red flags at first but I ignored it thinking others might not want to drive bc crazies too… It was hot inside the restaurant, which conflicts with other reviews but I was shedding layers and comfortably in a tee shirt… When we sat down I noticed something… A stack of pre-made sushi. Granted it was almost happy hour so they might’ve been making them in bulk for a wave of people… But if *I* was sweating, I know that sushi isn’t good…(See picture) Half of the sushi on the track was uncovered and there were flies all around us. Also– the wait staff WATCHES you eat… A guy stood behind my fiancée and i nearly the entire time. My fiancée isn’t too good with chopsticks so I was showing him how to hold them and the guy who was standing 3 feet behind us snickered the entire time. My mango mochi ice cream was nasty and the ice cream itself tasted as if it had a powder in it… Pot stickers right off the track were cold as hell and all of the sushi was smothered in spicy mayo. Seeing that there was a stack of sushi I opted for the asparagus roll because there wasn’t a risk of getting food poisoning. I felt like we overpaid for warm mediocre sushi.

Typical low end revolving sushi spot. Went here for happy hour and tried an assortment of rolls. Can’t beat the value of their happy hour but the quality was below average as expected. Good for people and families on a budget. The staff does work hard here.

You will not find quality sushi here. Sushi during happy hour is even of less quality. The time to come, if you want dirt cheap, below average sushi, is Sun-Thurs 6pm-close. This is happy hour & it used to be $ 1 per plate, with drink purchase, but now it’s $ 1.10. There’s maybe 10 different plate options on the sushi track & that includes edamame, sesame balls, & cucumber salad. Options during happy hour are limited which makes sense since you’re only paying $ 1.10 per plate. They won’t roll out the fancy stuff unless you want to pay regular price. Even for the limited options, customers will wait in line for a good 30 minutes to eat this stuff. It isn’t a bad deal eating 18 pieces(six plates) of sushi for just $ 6.60 but there’s so much better sushi in PDX that paying a few dollars more is well worth it than what HPnS provides.

I’m so sorry but I just can’t… I tried to give this place a chance despite the reviews but eew. They got bad reviews on their service, so I got mine to-go. They got bad reviews on their sushi, so I got a «hot pot». I ate it immediately, and there was nothing«hot» about it. Cold chicken, cold soggy veggies, slightly warm rice. The chicken was tasty, but dry and seemed like it had been sitting in a bin waiting for anyone to order chicken.
