Not only were my friends jealous I found such a tasty, and abundant dish, but the price is what really got them. They ladies are very friendly, and Portlandish. The food creativity is on point. I am still surprised that in getting low budget pricing for so much good. I loove this cart! Try them out!

I’m not sure I «heart» this cart, but I do «like» it. Would round up to 3.5 stars. I Heart This Cart is located among the other food stands located on Washington St and 3rd Ave. They offer a variety of different comfort foods. My partner was drawn to this place because of two dishes: tater tots and mac-n-cheese. For $ 8, we ordered the jalepeno popper mac-n-cheese. The portion was really big for the amount we paid. I’ve never ordered mac-n-cheese and have gotten a portion this big! They used spiral pasta and the cream sauce was rich and dreamy. I really enjoyed that this mac-n-cheese had an after kick of spice with each bite. It actually did taste like a jalepeno popper, and the bread crumbs on top really added a nice textural crunch. I would say the mac-n-cheese here is definitely a delicious comfort food and something I would recommend! We also ordered a small loaded tater tots. It was $ 4 and we got a lot more than we paid for. The portion sizes here are pretty large! The tots come fried and then smothered in a variety of different toppings like cheese, bacon bits and green onions. They also give you some thousand island dressing to dip it in. To be honest, despite the loaded tots being an Oregon fan favorite, it didn’t make it to my favorite list. The tater tots didn’t seem that special. My partner didn’t find the toppings wow-ing him and the thousand island dipping sauce was just«alright.» It’s still a good dish if you are craving some tater tots since they are standard. The thing that really ruined it for us was the wait time. We were in a bit of a rush and were hoping that the food stands would hand over our food quick. This place took about 20 minutes for the food to come. I appreciate that it’s homemade comfort food and that the mac-n-cheese/tots would take some time to make, but 20 minutes felt a bit long. Overall, the place still offers a selection of comfort foods that are worth trying. The mac-n-cheese was worth getting but I will skip on the tots next time. The lady who took our order was nice and friendly. The price is reasonable and the portion size is great. Maybe next time I’ll end up «heart”-ing this cart.

I got the chicken Caesar wrap. It was excellent. Choice of tasty fried or grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, tomatoes and dressing in a wrap. Very filling and good pricing. $ 7 for the wrap, which was enough to fill me up for the day.

Not only is the food amazing, but the service was impeccable! I highly recommend this cart to anyone who loves food. The style is one of a kind and I haven’t found anything quite like it anywhere. You must try the loaded tots and pulled pork sliders. The tots are a topped with a healthy portion of bacon and cheese. The pulled pork literally falls apart, and the slaw is also killer. Essentially if you love food at a good price look no further.

I only recently started eating here, but I have fallen in love. So far I’ve tried their jalapeño popper Mac N cheese, the Hawaiian chicken, and the grilled portobello cheese sub, and all have been excellent. They take slightly longer to prepare than some of the other carts, but I’m assuming that’s because they have to add in the awesome. The only reason I didn’t give them a 5 star is because they took off Monday because it was sunny, and I’m super jealous. ;)

Takes forever. Don’t waste your time. I waited 20 minutes for a chicken club sub. They assured me they hadn’t forgotten about my order after several who ordered after me had been served and then later said they hadn’t even started it. I got my money back and eventually the food, but it was still a net loss.

Pork sliders? More like a huge delicious sandwich cut in three pieces. You even get the option of coleslaw on the sandwich or on the side. YUM.

I Heart This Cart is near a wide range of other food trucks on the same lot that it stands on. I went here looking for some comfort food, which is the basis for their offerings which interestingly take the idea of comfort food associated with local, in this case American, ideas of comfort food and applies it on a more worldly basis. After looking at about five equally delicious options, I ordered the small Philly Cheesteak and the Loaded Tater Tots. It took about seven minutes to receive my order. The sandwich was $ 5 and the tater tots were $ 4, with the soda being $ 1 for a total of $ 10. Both items had a large portion. The cheesesteak was still hefty and the tater tots were as well. A napkin and a fork were provided as well as the appropriate dipping sauce for the tater tots. The cheesesteak was fairly good. It might have too many peppers and onions for some, but the taste was wonderful. They use as much meat as firm quality at that price would allow. The sauce was good and it fit well with the tender beat and delicious bread. The tater tots were amazing. It had lots of bacon and cheese with some great spices. A fork should likely be included even if it isn’t immediately visible, as I did not see it until after I had the tater tots because it had been wrapped. The value in I Heart This Cart is clearly exceptional. One very low-priced item should do for a typical lunch break. The flavor is very pronounced. I Heart This Cart is a wonderful addition to Portland.

I Heart This Cart!!! This is not only the cutest cart I’ve ever seen it’s also the most flavorful! The menu is full of dishes that will give you that«homemade cozy feeling.» On rainy days the soups are perfect! And the desserts… oh man! My favorite are the toasted coconut cupcakes! Everyday there is a new treat to try! This cart is definitely an undiscovered gem!

I got the pulled pork and grits even though I’m not a big grits guy and was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it delicious but the serving size was large enough to stretch into two meals. Honestly, I think the thing weighed 5 lbs. The pork was savory and the grits were very cheesy, which is the way to win me over. I had no idea the portion would be so huge so while I waited I ordered a small order of tots. These were fried to golden perfection and served with a side of homemade dipping sauce that had a little kick but not too much. I’ll definitely be back to sample more of their menu.

This is one of the top three carts I frequent. Not only is the service excellent, but the portions are huge, and the food is delicious. I am a big fan of the southwest mac & cheese and find myself craving it on a weekly basis. Because the portions are so big, I can share a wonderful meal with a friend for less than $ 10.00. Also, don’t eat here at lunch and expect to go back to work fully functional. I couldn’t eat the rest of the day!

Amazing food cart providing filling American comfort food amid a sea of Greek and other more«exotic» cuisine offerings by PDX food carts. Along with Billy, I also indulged in a Philly Cheesesteak and loaded cajun tots. Seriously, give this cart a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

I mostly get soups and baked goods here(I have a hard time *not* getting Mexican food every day for my main, that’s the only reason I’m not usually getting other things here: p). They consistently ranging from super good to blew-my-mind amazing, especially on cold winter days. Be warned: the cookes n’ brownies and other pastries are generally HUGE. So expect to share, or revel in gluttony: p Staff is super friendly, and the pricing is right. I really like these folks.

This place rules. Friendly folks run the cart, and the food is awesome. I had the loaded tater tots and a Philly cheese steak sandwich, both of which were perfect. Next time I’m downtown in PDX, I’m going to go back. You should go, too.

Serious comfort food for the hungry, wet Portlander. The Southwest Mac and Cheese is to die for and, for a guy like me who can really eat, is still more than I can handle in one sitting. Cory’s demeanor is great — very friendly and accommodating — and I love how socially savvy he is(check out their Facebook page). The sandwiches are OK, but I would stick with the prepared foods like mac and cheese, risotto and other specialties he concocts. Lots of calories and, hence, «bang for your buck».

what is this cart exactly? not sure it offers a variety of food that doesn’t really go under any rigid category. i tried their pork sandwich($ 8) and i loved it. got very full off of it. i came back and wanted to try something else but the owner had a new version of the pork sandwich so i got it again. nice guy, all sorts of stuff on his menu. want to try some other stuff but i crave the pork sandwich too much to try anything else he’s also open late nights on the weekend

Went by and had a half of a philly cheese steak for 4 bucks. The bread was light, fluffy and tasty, the steak wasn’t greasy, just the right amount of cheese. Needless to say I was impressed, anywhere I can fill up and tip for 5 bucks is cool with me =) I’ll be back to try out the chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese and whatever else these cool folks decide to whip up.

I do, I DO heart this cart! I’ve past them many a lunchtime(usually on my way to Built to Grill), but fate brought me to them this cold Friday. One bite into the seasonal pork belly sandwich, and I had to pause to literally say out loud, «Wow». Pretty much sums it up(that I’m typing one-handed while scarfing this bad boy with the other just to tell you foodie fiends all about this sandwich’s deliciousness). Stop by — you won’t regret it!

I don’t normally review places I’ve only been to once. That said, I walked up to this guy’s cart and ordered the Chicken and Dumplings, mentioning to him that it couldn’t be «as good as my Dad’s.» I was wrong. My dad’s is different; much heavier and more creamy stew, but this was… Amazing. Excellent(perhaps a little salty, but I could cope) broth with well seasoned dumplings consisting partially of some tasty cheese and good veggies. There were three or four fried leaves inside, each this weird thin little happy chunk of flavor. I was obviously fundamentally a fan. Upon second tasting, in which I tried the macaroni and cheese, I was not as impressed as with the chicken and dumplings. The mac was good, and had pretty unique flavor combined with more vegetables than normal, but not as crazy salty cheesy as what I’m used to. More my own taste than anything.
