Very delicious and the people there are very friendly! Overall, great experience. The house made teriyaki is bomb!

This place has great Korean BBQ. Went there for lunch but they are also open late in the summer. I had the half chicken half beef bulgogi and it was really good.

Got the bi bum bap and the veggies were really cold and soggy like they were just frozen and there was hardly any chicken… bummer :(

I’ve been to this food cart a few times and it was one of my favorite food carts. It had been awhile since I’ve been here but I visited today and it looked like a new owner took over. I was utterly dismayed at how much had changed. None of the signs were changed so I assumed it was the same food. I ordered the spicy chicken bento expecting the usual. On the signs it specifically says that all bentos come with Japchae(Korean Rice Noodles) and a salad. When I received my order neither of those two items were included, when I asked about them, they just shrugged it off saying we don’t include those anymore. Okay, so I’m a little annoyed at this point but I what I really came here for was the spicy chicken and rice. I didn’t think it was even possible to mess this part up, but somehow they managed to. The chicken was burnt and almost cooked to a rubbery texture and the rice was hard and stale. At this point I’m starving but I couldn’t stomach it anymore and had to toss out the rest. I don’t understand how this place is going to stay in business anymore, the food is so terrible and they won’t even honor what’s on their menu. If they had made the excuse that they had ran out of the sides, I would have been more understanding but to blatantly have false advertising puts a serious bad taste in my mouth.

Definitely didn’t have a great first experience here. The service and food combined is not making me want to come back ever again. My brother wanted to buy me lunch since he was downtown so since he was buying, I let him choose the spot. Normally I don’t even like to eat Korean food, but he likes the food at this cart so I decided to give it a go. The one Korean dish I really like is Bimbimbap. I saw that they had it and decided to see how it would go. My brother had ordered a curry dish for $ 6.50 and on the menu displayed on their cart, my Bimbimbap was also listed as $ 6.50. It explicitly says choose chicken, beef or tofu. Chicken apparently already comes with the meal(per the employee). That’s not explicitly stated either. I was irked when the total came out to be more than expected without a warning that choosing a different meat would cost something(an additional $ 0.50). I can’t read minds — you need to tell customers if they choose a different option that there is a price for it! DONOTDECEIVEYOURCUSTOMERSTHISWAY. I know it’s only $ 0.50 but that’s not what bothered me. When I brought this to the lady’s attention inside the cart,(she spoke and understood English just fine) she just turned around and went further inside her cart. An apology for not listing price differences would be ideal in such a situation, right? Our food was being prepared and when it was time to pick it up, I brought it to her attention again. This time, I got a very fake sorry and I told her she shouldn’t be charging more for something if she didn’t put that on the menu. When it came time to eat, it was very different than the awesome Bimbimbap I’ve had in the past. The rice was unusual and purple. Hot sauce just DRENCHED every aspect of my order. I can tolerate a little bit of spicy, but that was excessive. I threw about ¾ of it away because it was just not edible. It would’ve been nice to be asked what level of spicy I would’ve wanted on the food I was about to consume. I’d rather eat McDonald’s than this again.

I remember trying the food here, their bimbimbap was so mouth watering and ono that I wanted another plate of it. I even heard their chicken dishes are great as well. They give a generous portion and give you a bag with utensils. Food trucks in downtown Portland are worth the experience. If you are staying in Portland, try some of the food trucks. you won’t regret it. If I ever come back here, I try their chicken katsu.

I had my first food cart experience in Portland at Taste of Korea and was very pleased. I’ve had my share of Korean food so I was happy to see all the crowd favorites were on the menu. I thought the servers were nice, the menu has plenty to choose from, they’re open super late(2am), and the prices were very reasonable(less than $ 10 for just about every entrée). The only knock on them is they’re a cash only business but that’s expected for a food cart in my opinion. We ordered the bulgogi plate and the spicy chicken splate. Very satisified and I would definitely come back.

I had my first encounter with Bibimbap today at Taste of Korea. It came in a healthy portion, with all of the individual veggies spread out in a lovely array. There was a beautifully cooked egg that waited until I arrived back at the office to be popped, which I was at my leisure to have coat all of my food. Liked the red sauce, didn’t like the kimchi. The rice was smooth and buttery with teriyaki chicken given as the meat. You can also sub in a few different options, but you’ll need to ask first. It came for a smooth $ 6.50, and delightfuly quick and friendly service. I’ll be back for more!

Walking down the row of food trucks on 3rd street, it was hard to choose which place to stop at, so I let the throngs of people outside this cart decide. The two young Korean dudes inside were busy busy and the food looked healthy and yummy so I decided to give it a try. They were out of Curry Katsu, which is my secret goto comfort food, so I went healthy instead. The bibimbap was very tasty and full of fresh veggies like pickled cucumber, carrot and cold cooked spinach. The diced chicken was plentiful and nicely seasoned with blackened sesame seeds(a warning for those with allergies) all on a bed of rice. The egg adorning the top was already cooked through by the time I got to my hotel, but that’s what happens with takeout. I also ordered the traditional Korean noodle soup, Ramyeon, which always fills me up with yummy broth and noodles. Again, as it is takeout it is slightly less yummy than when ordered in a restaurant.

Portland is know for there food stand culture. This was one of the stops during our food stand tour. The food portions are generous, most of the items are cooked fresh to order, the service is very friendly, the prices are reasonable. We order the Katsu Chicken Curry and Spicy Chicken, both were excellent and had lots of flavor. I wish we had this in my hometown. Only downfall, there is no seating area to sit and eat.

This was my first food cart experience in Portland when I was in town for World Domination Summit last summer. Since moving here in January, it’s my go-to spot and a place I bring friends visiting the area. Every time I go, I get the same thing — the tofu bento box. It’s a pretty big portion of food for about $ 6.50. You get a little salad, rice, tofu, and noodles. It is delicious. There’s no place to sit down and eat, so it’s a great place to pick something up to go. Or, if you’re like me, you hang out and stand around, people watching and enjoying the vibe of the food cart area.

My lunch, Bulgogi Bento, from this place is my very first food cart experience and the best so far, and in fact, one of the best, satisfying meals I’ve had in months. Friday afternoon late lunch, there was a moderate wait but the chap who took our order was very quick and efficient, and we both got our lunch in no time –my friend got Teriyaki Chicken Bento-. I was pretty much blown away with the value for money, and both my bulgogi and my friend’s teriyaki were cooked very well, and everything that came with the meat –rice, lettuce with light dressing, side kimchi, and potato noodle– was perfectly fine as well. In Sydney I have to pay twice the price for same or less of both quality and quantity. This place is a winner for me, and I’d love to go back for a second time before bidding Portland goodbye.

This is a solid cart with good prices when you are craving some K-food. I had the Bi Bim Bap, which is a street food item with actual vegetables. That included thinly sliced cucumber, shredded carrots slightly spiced and crunchy, daikon, kim chi, spinach, bean sprouts and more. I would improve the dish by requesting the egg sunny side up rather than over. They do use plastic containers, room for improvement there. The unique brilliance is their house made hot sauce. It looks like Sriracha, but is not as vinegary and doesn’t have the harsh bite. But it does have red bean paste. It is a great addition.

My mom’s from Korea, and I’ve had better Korean food in my life. However, I very rarely have Korean food this good at the $ 6 price point.

i was visiting from seattle with my husband and baby this weekend, and we stopped by taste of korea. for no reason in particular. we were hungry, there were few options open this late. and we’re glad we did! talk about right place, right time! the food smelled amazing, looked amazing, tasted amazing, and on top of that, we had GREAT customer service. you know how you can tell how someone is a nice guy just by looking at him? the guy in the window here had that quality. he was super patient with the gaggle of teenagers before us, and you would expect him to be agitated with indecisiveness. but he just trucked right on through. overall, fantastic experience.

Meh, I’ve had better, but it’s okay. I ordered the spicy pork which came in top a pile of(dry) rice. It was small bits of pork instead of larger slices of discernible meat I’m used to in a restaurant. Flavor is pretty good, although it could be spicier, but I understand they cater to masses’ taste. The mayonnaisey salad dressing was a bit off putting, I ate around it. Only 4 days later, it took me awhile to remember what I ate. Definitely not memorable. And with the plethora of carts around, I would skip this one.

Portland is the place to be if you LOVE food carts! They’re EVERYWHERE! You can’t get away from them! Buuut… not only are they everywhere, most of them are honest to goodness 4 or 5 star foodcarts! And you can find different types of cuisines each day. Taste of Korea was a God sent for a morning hangover! On the way to pick up a rental car, my friend and I stopped by Taste of Korea to grab a kalbi rib plate which included a generous portion of kalbi ribs, steamed rice, kimchi, and glass noodle salad. I loved everything and at a cheap price of $ 8! Only bummer is that when i see food carts, I think faster than fast food food carts. It took about 15+ minutes to get the food. Not too bad but on an empty stomach + hangover morning, time is of the essence!

I was the designated moderately sober person babysitting my drunken bestie who was out getting over a bad break up. I confiscated her cell phone and took her out for drinks. And drink she did. I figured I better feed the poor girl so at least she wouldn’t have a horrible break-up hangover the next day. I walked, she stumbled, arm-in-arm down the sidewalk on Third Avenue perusing our many options. Mmmm anti hangover inoculation at 2AM. God bless food carts. Taste of Korea has quite the menu to choose from. We settled on the spicy chicken and the nice woman fixed us right up. I threw myself in front of a taxi and took bestie home and fixed two very full plates. For a mere $ 6.00 we were sent home with a huge pile of supremely flavourful chicken, several sides that I as a non Korean food expert could not identify. I can tell you this: it was awesome. I was really impressed that bestie still had the dexterity to use chopsticks. I could not finish my portion. It made for awesome leftovers and bestie, she felt pretty good Sunday morning.
