The food here is really over priced can’t walk away without spending close to 20 bucks for one to eat but the staff is super nice

Came in at 11am on a Monday May 9th2016. The restaurant had 20 patrons including us. There was 3 waitresses. The waitress Connie took an extremely long tine to take our drink order(15 minutes) after our drink order was taken the manager brought out our coffee and waters. She then took another 15 minutes to take our food order. The manager brought our food out. Our coffee and waters were never refilled, although everyone around us had theirs refilled multiple times. We were never asked how our food was, everyone around us was asked multiple times. We then noticed that I was the only Hispanic in the restaurant. Everyone else that Connie had waited on was white A racist restaurant

There were 7 of us here for dinner, and we were all happy with our meals. Great atmosphere and excellent service, in addition to good eats, always make dining out a pleasure. Jubitz is located in an upscale truck stop. The menu is mostly comfort foods like fried chicken(so good!) homemade meatloaf etc. One person in the group got the soup and salad bar(just $ 2 more than a side salad with your entre‘) and it looked good, too. Reasonably priced

If you’re planning to visit the Oregon zoo with plans of having lunch there, I would recommend the cascade grill. First off, the restaurant is very clean and has a nice atmosphere to enjoy dining with your family and friends. Price: The menu prices are bit more expensive here than within the park at the African café however as I shared the atmosphere in my opinion is well worth considering. Price examples: a classic burger is $ 8.50 here and what I have found to be the same quality burger at African Café was $ 5.75 as I recall. Just an example. Service and friendliness of staff was good and the menu items that we chose were found to be very good overall. I give it a 4 rating due to the price of the menu items I found were at least 2 to 3 dollars more than the African café for the same type of quality and offerings. I also have taken into consideration the menu and dining choices at the zoo itself. From my experience a 4 rating is what you should expect I would think especially in comparing your options here. The one additional advantage for this dining option is that it also offers a few beer choices which are not available within the park itself that I could find.

Ordered a French Dip(minus the mushrooms) with lots of Ranch for my fries to go. Got home and they forgot to put the French dip in my bag but they didn’t forget to charge me $ 2 for the ranch dipping sauce. The ranch has good flavor but very runny. And I just noticed there is a pickle buried under my fries, making several fries very soggy and pickle flavored. Very disappointed with my order.

I found this place to quite pleasant. I had myself a shower. Got cleaned up and went to the bar. Now I have to drive so I watched the football game with a nice soda. I ordered the nachos and they came to the table nachos for four. The bar tender was running solo and was fairly busy. She was all over it I wanted nothing she had me covered as well as everyone else. Quite pleasant and gorgeous. I also washed my trailer out and repaired a flat today. Full service truck stop as well a mighty nice travel center.

Salty over priced food! Slow service. Filthy transit homeless hanging around begging for change, hookers in parking lot, then again… I am in Portland Oregon.

Love love love love this truck stop diner. They have breakfast all day. The have sooooo many different menu items. They do a good special every day of the week and it constantly is changing with other delicious food items. The eggs Benedict, yes please ! The hot wings, can I get a hell yeah! The artichoke spinach dip, pretty decent. I’ve tried so many things here and am never disappointed ! Service is alright. The ladies that work here or nice . Try this place

Disappointed… I’ve been coming here for a while at first the waiters, the food were great. Then they got this new waiter. She never smiles. Everytime we go in she takes our order. I feel like I have to repeat myself several times to get the right order of food. Then went food comes, there’s always something missing. She looks disappointed when we ask for something like sauce or water for kids. Food in general is okay when you’re hungry. Some dishes are overpriced. Not the best quality. Giving 2 stars because of bad customer service. Last time I went in there I got the Cesar salad with salmon instead of chicken. Was charged $ 8.90 on top of salad for 3slices of salmon. If they told me this I would never order it. The manager did nothing about this when I talked with her. Disappointed!

Typical truck stop ambiance, with a menu to match. Salad bar was scary, very scary. Have been craving some real good fried chicken so we went with that. The chicken was okay, it was fresh cooked but not crispy as I expected based on the servers description. Would go back only because I was there for an overnight stop but wouldn’t pull off I-5 for just the restaurant.

Thid place is like a compound for truckers. Its got the restaurant, gift shop and other things that could make a trucker feel right at home. We went to the restaurant so thats what my review is for. The restaurant is big in comparison to other places to eat. They have an extensive menu and I noticed that part of their menu has a section for big eaters, which none of us ordered from but we did comment on while looking at the menu. Hubby ordered off the breakfast menu. His meal consisted of 2 eggs, 3 pancakes, 3 sausage links, bacon, hashbrowns AND toast! What a mouthful! He said everything was cooked the way he ordered it and tasted great. I opted for a Denver Omlette, which was huge, had ham, onion and green peppers. It also came with hashbrowns and toast. It was a great value and was more than I could finish. I dont know what the fuss is all about with people thinking that truck stops are off– putting but over all this place had great service and a good vibe going for it, which is more than some restaurants offer. I was pleasantly surprized and will definitely return to dampen their doorstep! A win-win here.

«Breaker, Breaker 1 – 9, got my pedal to the metal, with a smokey on my 6 and breakfast on my mind, gonna make good time to Cascade Grill and Jubitz!» I know a few truckers and they’ve always said that Jubitz Travel Center is one of their favorite stop-overs in the country. It’s a well appointed truckstop with a movie theatre, a store, top-line mechanics, the ‘Portlander’(the center’s hotel) and the Ponderosa Lounge. The«Pondo» is particularly well known with locals and is a venue for A & B List country artists. As a former DJ in country radio, I can say proudly that I’ve gotten shitfaced and forgotten several shows from some of the biggest names in the genre. Inside the main lobby at Jubitz, there’s a museum that tells the story of the truckstop and is somewhat of a shrine to trucking. It is here that you will find the Cascade Grill. I strolled in about 7:30 on a Saturday Morning and the diner was already filled with those that transport America’s cargo up and down I5, I205 and I84. I was met with a huge smile and a «good morning» and had a hunch that I had made the right choice. My menu selection was already made as I am on a «grail quest» for the cities best chicken-fried steak. The Cascade Grill’s opus was served within 5 minutes of my order and included a side of bacon. The hashbrowns were(sadly) cold and dry. The steak itself had been deep fried in a crispy, light batter and was drowning in a dark, thick gravy that tasted of Jagermeister. It was delicious. I would hit the place on a Saturday or Sunday morning because it’s big enough that you’ll be seated quickly, regardless. Jubitz is an empire unto itself and is easy to find as it’s right off of Interstate 5, just south of Jantzen Beach. Jubitz and the Cascade Grill cannot be seen from the road. Take the Marine Drive exit and look for the signs. «Roger that, Bandit!»

For the restaurant and lounge alone, I give 4 stars. The food they serve is consistent each and every time. I’m not a fan of the rotating seasonal vegetables which they say changes quarterly. The sautéed, seasoned green beans were wicked awesome with either steak they offered. Then they went to steamed broccoli, which was ok, but I didn’t enjoy any of the squash/zucchini offerings on the plates since then and they won’t offer an alternate. Staff is friendly, prompt and experienced. Pro servers here. They’ll leave me alone or chat me up after gauging my mood. Not at all happy with the sheer number of local Vancouver/Portland trucks hogging up the parking spaces needed for long-haul drivers coming in tired and hungry and not being able to find a single parking spot. For that alone, I’d give Jubitz a single overall star. They have guys running their business out of their property and parking at will, yet guys coming in to spend money and eat/sleep have to park under an overpass somewhere to sleep. I can’t count the number of trucks I see come in each night and leave with no room because of the local trucks parked there. What Asholes!

The truck stop as a whole os top notch. The restaurant food is over priced but fairly good. Not great. Just fair. Better than most any truck stop. They bake fresh vegtables whis is awesome and rare. Salad bar is $ 6.00 to add to an entrée which is ridiculous. However there is a lot here for truckers including a movie theater that shows 2 movies. An old time cabover. A shop and a post office and a clinic. It’s a real treat for a truck stop. The review is for the restaurant and so are the 3 stars because its jist as average restaurant. But the truck stop gets 5 stars.

Took my class here today for lunch based off their recommendation. All of us ordered a variety of different dishes. I ordered the hamburger and found it good. The fries were okay, but nothing great. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well, so this is a solid comfort food place that is not overly expensive.

Beautiful looking salad bar. Would be nice if there was a way to add it to your meal for less than $ 8.50. The smoked salmon with penne, olives and tomatoes was fabulous. Very smoky, fresh and perfect for summer.

I’ve gone here a few times over the past few years and almost always have had a good experience regardless of the time of day. I could not speak for their service during peak hours, but most of the other times service has been pretty good with one or two exceptions. The menu is pretty good, the portions are kind of large and for a truck stop, the prices are very fair. Normally I eat either their breakfast options, or a burger/sandwich item. Can’t speak about the rest, but those were awesome! But I have to say after reading some of the previous reviews, sometimes you may get a server whom just doesn’t seem to grasp the idea of special orders. Order a French Dip without mushrooms(it’s their only menu option, with mushrooms) and it kind of throws them for a loop and starts a long conversation about the whole idea of ordering something a little different than described on the menu. Not all the servers, but reading these reviews make me remember I have encountered that problem more than once there. But overall, good food at a good value and almost always good service. You can be prefect all the time.

Great place to eat in Portland /Vancouver cooking it up since 1952! I’ve been eating here for years and it never gets old! Quality food at decent prices. Willie Nelson has ate here a few times while passing thru on tour! If it’s good enough for Willie well it must be good then! Willie knows…

Terrible! I asked for medium. She asked if I meant medium-rare. No, medium. I got bloody, cold in the middle raw. I don’t care what she eats, cook what’s ordered. Halfway through she asked if I wanted them to cook what was left while the rest of my food got cold. Here’s an idea: cook it the way you’re told in the first place. Who’s cooking, Dexter?

For a truck stop restaurant, this place is great! Our server was incredibly friendly. The prices were reasonable, and the food was yummy! The whole feel of the place didn’t feel like a truck stop either. I really liked it.
