Absolutely DISGUSTING. I walked by today and an Asian woman was letting her dog eat off one of the plates. Where was your staff to put a stop to this? I said something to her: «You’re going to let your dog eat off a plate that other humans are going to eat off of? You’re absolutely disgusting.» Not that I would eat here anyway. The outside eating area resembles the smoking area for a homeless shelter. Gag me.

They have the MLB chanel — food isn’t all that but a great sports bar… Owners daughter is really nice and personable

This place used to be great. Now the prices keep going up and you can’t get afternoon brunch on a Timbers game day. We frequent here less and less. The pancakes are still awesome though.

I’ve only been there once, today, and had honestly never heard of the place despite being born and raised here. However, I had the best experience! Alix, Kylee, and the rest of the staff I encountered were so friendly and absolutely on top of their game. We ordered a club sandwich to share and it was filling and delicious! I will definitely be back :)

5STARS for service! The rest, just ok. Allegra was our server a week ago and she was AMAZING. It looked like everyone was really good. It was a Timbers game Sunday so the place was packed! I couldn’t get over how great the service was for how busy they were. The food and drinks were so so. we had the nacho, tots and onion rings. There’s only one cook(the kitchen is too small for more) he must have been working his butt off back there. I would recommend this place for the service and watching sports. LOTS of TV’s. Thanks Allegra for the great service!

I usually try to remain unbiased in my reviews, but I am giving the Kingston 4 stars not because it has great food(it does not) or because it has great service(it’s hit or miss). I’m rather giving it 4 stars because this is my go-to spot to watch football and enjoy a hotcake every Sunday morning. There are many TVs throughout the restaurant and I’ve never had a problem getting my game on one of them. Their menu is that of a basic dive bar, with nothing remotely healthy to be found, but good hot cakes and damn good German pancakes. As someone who doesn’t drink, I’m not educated on their liquor and beer selection, however, it seems vast. There isn’t anything remarkable about the Kingston, but it is steadfast and relaxed. No need for reservations or getting put together, simply waltz in and feel at home amongst fellow football fans. And don’t worry about where you’ll eat during the next Snowpocalypse; The Kingston remained one of the only places open through the entire snow storm of 2014. My hats off to you, little corner dive bar.

Not being from Portland, I don’t feel this is the place I should have tried out with only 2 days to taste the deliciousness the area has to offer. However, it was the first place we saw and I was hungry dammit! It was pretty typical for bar type foods… hamburgers, sandwiches, loaded potato skins… you know, heavy and fatty, drink a beer with your grease. But I will say, for the typical menu items, they were above typical taste. If you’re right outside the door, I say you can give this place a shot… or take a shot at this place…

Eggs Benedict was fantastic and the Corn Beef Hash was pretty darn good too. Coffee was much better than we expected. Service was friendly and the view was nice. All around great breakfast experience. We will be back.

somewhat overrated, always a bit crowded. Not too much to choose form either.

A staple. Decent brunch, strong drinks + sports on the TV. A fan-fave on Timbers game days. Some would consider it a dive bar, it’s definitely where the locals meet.

This is my neighborhood bar and I feel more at home here than anywhere else in Portland. The bartenders are the key ingredient that make this place. They’re charismatic, magnanimous, accommodating, friendly, and smart. I come here on a really good day to celebrate or a really bad day to find comfort. They have a great selection of beer and whiskey and a lot of screens showing Portland’s teams kick ass. The Kingston is one of he reasons I love living in this neighborhood.

Honest food, good drinks, bad coffee. Actually, it tastes like good coffee made in a pot where someone burned bad coffee yesterday. Service is dicey, when it’s good it’s very very good and when it is bad it’s actually so bad that you feel pity for someone so clearly in the wrong career.

Kingston Bar and Grill or K-Bag as my friends and I call it, has often been a destination of mine– long before I moved so close by. Though I’ve never tried the breakfasts there myself, I’ve heard they are pretty great. But given what I have tried, I know I won’t be too disappointed. I would definitely recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich– the ultimate in comfort food decadence. A cheesy, meaty soft grilled san on thick sourdough, covered in a heavy dusting of powdered sugar for good measure. Their menu has a wide range of yummy treats like this as well as the usual burger bar fare. I only can give three stars, however, as the service is quite slow to noticing you. Granted, they are often busy, especially on a weekend, but, I find that the servers and wait staff get caught up helping people in the bar area and forget about us hungry folk waiting in the dining area. All in all, you definitely won’t go hungry. Three stars also because their prices are a little steep.

I have no idea why I came here a second time, AND basically ordered the same thing. They have the worst hollandaise sauce that I have ever had. Be sure to ask for no pepper or at least on the side because I could hardly recognize my eggs bene with the ½ pound of pepper they poured on it. The Bloody Mary’s are sub par. The staff weren’t extremely attentive but they were nice enough. On a brighter note, they have a lot of TV’s and video games to entertain yourself with. If I come back I will get a beer and play big buck hunter or something.

We live very close to the Kingston and come in once a month or so to watch a game. The big TV in the back and the ones in the lower section next to the booths offer the best viewing. The crowd is always interesting and usually a fun mix of folks. The servers are always friendly and cheerful which can be a challenge because the food is atrocious and often slow. Granted, I am a foodie, but I respect and honor a good greasy spoon. This is not that. I will not eat here. The wine list is weak. It’s all pretty cheap, but stick to the beer!

The Kingston was the third stop on my trek through NW Portland on the Rugby Bar Crawl with the Portland Pigs. It was a quiet little spot, until we all showed up. All 60 – 70 of us… It’s a small and narrow place and yeah, they weren’t ready for the onslaught. But beer and beverages made it out to us. $ 1.50 for the cheap stuff. Can’t beat that for a quick drink. The one server(a stunner herself) managed to keep track of most all of us and no one waited really long for anything. Some got food, most got pitchers and somehow a group of Timbers fans with a «cup» were with us for a short time… our goal was to «relieve» them of said«cup» but it didn’t quite happen. Still a good time here. Oh well, on to the next bar.

This bar is comfortable. No pool table pin ball arcade games and lottery. It’s a DAYTIMEBAR. I love the menu, it has a range of the all American classics that you would find on a country club menu. Hell yes

SHITSHOW after a Timbers game… at least they poured my drink strong as hell since I needed it dealing with the epic bar line and taking a good 40 minutes to get a drink. Seriously if you come here after a game you will need something sharp to get even into line since rude men cut right in front of you… though they are probably sauced on beer from the game. The bar just ain’t that great and I think people come here for the convenient location post games and that’s about it.

I was always slightly iffy about this place… but upon entering was delightfully surprised by 1) How clean it was 2) it was a large place with tons of seating and 3) plenty of decent beers on tap and TVs everywhere. Why had I not been here before??? It’s like an awesome somewhat undiscovered place if you want to grab a beer at somewhere other than Marathon, Bitter End… the usual fan favorites. Best part? 9−10pm on Thursdays are $ 1 pints of whatever is on draft. Seriously. Cannot beat that. I will be back. Oh yes, I will be back. Plus, the bar staff is prompt and friendly. I’ve heard they do a pretty decent breakfast.
