I tracked Left Coast down after reading way too many local food truck reviews. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and waited for about 10 minutes before it was ready. I have no idea what they batter their chicken with but OHMYLAWD is it tasty. The chicken was perfectly friend and the inside moist and succulent. The sriracha mayo gave it a nice little kick and the banana peppers in the slaw worked well. The only issue was the bun to chicken ratio – it might have just been my piece of chicken, but I had about 1⁄3 of the bun left by the time I finished all the meat. Minus one star for service. The girl who was at the window made me awkwardly loiter for about a minute before she even acknowledged me. Call me picky, but she could have at least said hello!

Left Coast’s chicken sandwich is far SUPERIOR to the next cart over called Schnizelwich. But I go here for the Fish n’ Chips. The batter is just right(not too much) the portions are great, the slaw is delicious(spicy), and I don’t even normally care for slaw!

Along with the crowd… I’ve been past this cart numerous times & been tempted but never stopped. Last week I did and I’m so glad! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and then saw a Brussels sprouts bacon special & got that too! I’m not always a fan of coleslaw on my sandwiches but all the flavors were just right! 2 pieces of fried chicken that is battered to order & I love me some crinkle cut fries! I will definitely be back!!!

I typically get the fried chicken sandwich which is an excellent balance of spice and crispy, tastiness. Add the fries for additional salty goodness. I have also had the fish and chips which was average, in my opinion. It is typically a one person operation, although sometimes a second person is there to help out. Hours are pretty regular, although I have had a few times where it seemed he was closed randomly.

The fried chicken sandwich is really really yummy. While it’s a tad disappointing it doesn’t default to coming with fries I can let that go based on the quality of the sandwich itself. Covered in sriracha mayo along with a very good spicy pepper slaw it does not disappoint. Top that off with a warm and toasty bun and I honestly didn’t find a flaw in this sandwich. Given the ingredients I thought it might be a bit on the spicy side but was happy to find it was just enough heat to warm you up a bit but not so much to detract from the flavor at all.

I love this chicken sandwich so much, I think about it all weekend. I’m sure my wife is a bit tired of me talking about it, but I really do think it’s one of the best fried chicken sandwiches around. Crinkle-cut fries are a bonus, but I can get by on the sandwich alone. It’s a tad pricey and will take a few minutes longer than your standard cart, but worth a visit once a week. Ugh, thinking about it makes me want one, I’m heading there now…

Arrived to find Left Coast swamped, which is unsurprising given its reputation. The fellow in the cart seemed a bit overwhelmed. He took my order eventually, and after a ten minute wait I had a large Fish n’ Chips. The fish was completely average. Beer battered? It’d be hard to tell that by taste, as there wasn’t much beyond the cod itself and the lemon I dripped across it. Fortunately the cod itself was tender and fresh. At least the batter stayed crisp after the walk back to the office. Sogginess is always a risk when picking up cart food. As for the fries, well… they could’ve been from Albertson’s for all I know. Floppy and virtually unseasoned, they didn’t taste like anything aside from lightly boiled potato. Fish and chips without decent chips is a real bummer. I should not the whole thing was eight fifty, as opposed to someplace like Frying Scotsman, where you’re paying at least 10 bucks for half the order. But you don’t get what you don’t pay for.

One of the best parts of working downtown is trading lunch with john at left cost. It’s the kind of food and place that cooks gravitate to. Always eat were the cooks eat.

I’ve worked downtown for about 16 years. Most days I get lunch at the carts. Don’t really want to do the math on that. Anyway, this cart is a cut above. The fried chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, and brussels sprouts special is the best meal I’ve eaten at a food cart. People are starting to notice, and I just hope they can keep up the quality as their order volume increases.

I love Left Coast. John is incredibly friendly, and his food is DELICIOUS. Without fail, I get the fried chicken sandwich and fries. I put some hot sauce on the sandwich and go to town. From time to time, there will be lunch specials. Last week, I had delicious shrimp, red potato, and sausage skewers with chili… so good. My tummy always leaves happy when I eat here.

First of all, I love the way this food cart looks. Second of all, get yourself the Fish and Chips people. This guy makes his own beer batter, in which he fries almost everything on the menu. I am a big seafood person — particularly when it’s deep fried, and even more so if the batter includes beer. This was seriously delicious. I couldn’t help myself and ate the entire thing. He also makes this really unique cole slaw, which seems to include giardiniera or something spicy. There were definitely pickled jalapenos an that cole slaw, and I didn’t hate it. I would totally recommend this place to other passersby.

I’m a regular food cart customer and finding fries at a cart is hard, especially good fries. Left Coast Cart has rockin’ crinkle cut fries for only a buck and it’s always heaping. I’ve tried about half the menu at this point and haven’t been let down yet. Awesome unique burger/fries join with some other Southern food too. And the owner John is friendly to boot. Left Coast is definitely on my cart rotation now(including 808, Noodle House, etc)

After failing to find Bro Dogs I came here looking for a good hot dog. The very friendly proprietor redirected me to another menu item… The fried chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo and spicy slaw was damn good for $ 6. Add some fries and a soda for a dollar each and *poof*, one the best food truck meals I’ve had in a while.
