This is an outrage. How can this place only have 5 reviews? Yet you call yourself well-read. Harumph, I say. I can(and have) easily spend hours upon hours here. Absolute Browsing Heaven right here. You don’t even have to be looking for a book to enjoy yourself in here. Just roll with it and let Time take care of it’s own self. I know it’s not at the ‘busy’ part of Division but it’s more than worth a little side trip. Oh. Hey. Look. A parking spot. Woohoo!

This place is great! Has everything you’d want in a privately owned bookstore including a resident feline! The owner is extremely nice and treated me well even though I was a tourist! I’d totally come back to Longfellow’s!

Longfellow’s Books somehow turned up as I walked down SE Division. The bookstore is in a corner store. The place has a musty book smell. It wanders in every corner. The books are stacked on a shelf and on the floor. There are older versions of the books. The books range from 1980’s and earlier. It’s a surprise that it just sits there on SE Division Street. There are old postcards, old books, older editions, and there are no other words that can cover how an old bookstore can offer to a customer who just discovered it.

I totally came across this place by chance! I love exploring used bookstores, and I u-turned to stop in as I was driving through town. I was surprised with the selection and that the shelves are categorized and alphabetized. There are lots of quirky interesting books. There’s even a shelf of vinyl records too, and some old posters, postcards, etc. Nile(the son of the owner) was fun to chat with as I perused the aisles. I walked out with two funny books to add to my collection.

This nook of a used bookstore nestled into the border between Division St. and Ladd’s Addition is crammed full with books ranging from beautiful, old, and antiquated, to outdated editions of literary masterpieces in paperback. Although I didn’t purchase anything at Longfellow’s when I visited for the first time, I browse for close to forty minutes, impressed with their massive collection stored in a small, tight, labyrinth. The proprietor is friendly and happy to talk to customers. If it’s something in particular you’re looking for, do ask; I get the feeling that there are more books hidden in piles and secret shelves and he can navigate their intricacies.
