I took the 4-week class and was not happy with the instruction provided. The instructor did not check us for proper technique and alignment. She did not check in with us on using proper muscle engagement. I expected this to be a very high quality, and safe class. The instructor was also late starting class. I do not recommend this class.

I took a Mamalates class after the birth of my first son, four years ago. The class was a wonderful and effective way for me to learn how my new body functioned after the birth of a child. Wendy is a patient, authentic trainer who encourages you to be kind and thoughtful to yourself. I have had two more sons and while I haven’t been able to take any more classes, I have been able to do her DVD workout for postpartum moms here in the comfort of my own home. Thanks, Wendy!

I was a 9 month postpartum mom when I started training with Wendy. My child was a little old for the Mamalates class so I participated in the Pilatesculpt class for 8 weeks. In this time I was able to increase my flexibility immensely. While bending over I could only reach my arms half way past my knees and toes before I started and now I can touch the floor easily just from learning how to move in this class. My core has been strengthened and my abs tightened. I had abdominal separation after two c-section three years apart and have learned how to move and exercise safely without disturbing those areas, and have built incredible core strength to get those muscles back into shape. I have enjoyed working with Wendy as she inspires and encourages with words and hands on help. I have learned how to use the foam roller to ease muscle pain and balance and move on the abdominal ball to relax and work my pelvic muscles which take on such strain when we carry and have our children. I highly recommend any pilates class taught by Wendy.

Wendy is the perfect blend of motivation + compassion. Mamalates is the first fitness program I suggest for post partum moms because pilates helps repair core muscles that are overextending during pregnancy AND you can take your baby with you! The Mamalates classes get mamas back into using their bodies and gives them the chance to meet other new mamas. Community and getting those abs back into shape – I love it!
