Great quality food! Excellent salads, baked goods. cold brew and a few beers on tap. Darling place. Small place so not good for groups. I will be back!

Milk Glass Mrkt is one of my favorite cafes in North Portland. Everything I have had here has been delicious. And it’s all made in-house, with love and care(you can tell). I love the Earl Grey tea with frothy milk, which is served in a tall pint glass. The atmosphere is open, airy and light. The ambience is mellow and relaxing. Everyone here is friendly and sweet. The owner clearly has a vision and is truly invested in her business, right down to every detail, which I appreciate a lot.

I went for brunch on a Saturday morning. The place was busy and seating is somewhat limited, but we were able to squeeze four people on to one of the small tables without a wait. The«Eggs and Greens» was very generous and everything was quite fresh. The kabocha and trout were both very well done. My friends spoke very highly of their biscuit sandwiches, as well. Free refills on the coffee.

Such a quaint, adorable café that is the perfect destination for catching up with your bestie. The ambiance is charming. The menu is simple but classy and delicious. The breakfast biscuit sandwich was SO good. Can’t wait to make this a regular spot to share with friends. My favorite part is that it is a small space, so not ideal for groups or big families, which makes it an escape from loud, bustling cafes where it’s distracting having an adult conversation.

I am a judgmental chef and I loved my breakfast! I had the greens with eggs and a fig bread pudding with mascarpone and jam, and endless cups of self serve stumptown coffee. Everything was delicious.

This place is so delicious. I went yesterday for lunch and am taking my partner back today. I had the herb biscuit with smoked salmon and a peanut butter cookie for desert.

Not impressed. Lackluster food and service, overpriced, and pretentious. Why waste your time when there are SO many better options for brunch?

Simple. Elegant. Delicious. What more does one really need from a small neighborhood market? I do wish there was a touch more ‘market’. But all in all milk glass is a wonderful contrast to the 600 chicken and waffles joints in PDX. Nice to go to brunch and not feel like you need to take a nap afterward. The eggs on the breakfast biscuit are fluffy and perfect every time. The greens and eggs is by far my favorite thing on the menu… Proof that a delicious breakfast doesn’t have to be a huge plate of carbs and sugar… Speaking of sugar, that chocolate sea salt cookie is what dreams are made of… The special strata… Omg… Yum…

Cute interior, good coffee and drink selection. Extremely limited menu on which substitutions are not allowed because it’s «curated to perfection by the chef» so they can’t possibly make any changes to the breakfast sandwich. Let me remind you that this is a coffee shop/café, not a 5 star restaurant. When I go to Paley’s Place, I don’t mess with the menu. When I go to Andina, I don’t make substitutions. When I go to a coffee shop and ask for no cheese on a biscuit, I expect to have the cheese taken off — not to be rejected and given a highly pretentious explanation. It made me think their menu is all premade or frozen and that’s why they couldn’t make any changes. Again, ambiance was awesome. Service and menu were subpar, and completely unwilling to meet the customer’s needs. Just another example of the Portland Hipster mentality going too far.

This was one of my favorite meals in Portland. So much fresh, good food here. We shared the trout plate and the swell egg sandwich. Both were delightful. The onions and beets on the dish plate were the perfect texture and flavors to mix with the strong smokiness of the trout. The crème fraîche along with the fish plate was a great addition. The sandwich bread was a tad crispy on the outside and soft underneath. I wish this place was in my little neighborhood.

I went here this morning and I ordered the eggs with greens with the smoke salmon I believe, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life! Fresh greens, potatoes with a couple of eggs on top. My god it was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and the décor is awesome I wish I took a few pics of the food, but after my first bite stopping to take the picture was the last thing I was going to do, maybe next time.

I swore I wasn’t going to tell anyone about this place, so I’d have a secret brunch place with amazing food and no wait. Then the second time I got there, boom, a million* people were there. Was the food still as delicious? Yes. Was the wait mitigated by the fact that you order at the counter before you sit? Yes. Did the mimosa taste weird? Yes, but I had just brushed my teeth and I’m sure that was why. It’s not like it’s a complicated recipe. That biscuit thing is amazing. The sweets are yummy. Stay away! * +/-999,978

Absolutely fantastic breakfast. After never finding a truly beautiful biscuit in Portland(I detest that one particular hipster chain btw, sooooo overrated), I am definitely beyond content with these folks’ cheddar biscuit with bacon! My husband had the big huge breakfast sandwich with provolone and red peppers and loved it as well along with his blueberry scone. Good coffee and good hot chocolate, matched with fantastic service and a cute interior(props for selling Australian ginger beer, my Melbourne hubby’s fave). We’re definitely returning very soon!!!

Milk glass market rocks! Reading Unilocal sometimes is like reading chicken soup for the whiners soul. Unbelievably delicious, fresh, homemade baked goods thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented. A good hit of caffeine in the morning. Delicious salads and lunch items. Great choices for a little wine, beer or cider in the later afternoon /early evening. Wonderfully decorated, warm and inviting atmosphere. The music is always great — every time I’m either reminded of some great tunes or turned on to something new. So if you’d like all your senses to be delighted, quit reading this and go try it out. I’m wondering now if Milk Glass is so popular because of all the things I’ve listed or if the neighbors just have so much extra money from the low rent their paying? Hmmm — well go check it out and decide for yourselves!

Best veggie sandwich… ever! I happened upon this place while waiting for my car to get fixed. It’s my new favorite lunch place in North Portland!

Just stopped by on a recommendation from a friend. Immediately you can see the attention to detail. Everything is organized, clean and tidy. Great service and my breakfast sandwich was too notch! I would highly recommend and what a great addition to N. Killingsworth. Try the cheddar biscuit, herbed egg with applewood bacon… oh ya!

This place was excellent. I’m a foodie born and raised in Seattle where there are so many great hidden gems. This is one of those places. Great price point and the food was great! I’m disappointed there was no espresso but perhaps over time they’ll get one. I’ve been back 4 times since the first visit and while the food is great, a few things are missing: I came in this afternoon and ordered the salad and asked for light dressing. I don’t like my lettuce drenched and I feel that t takes away from other hidden gems in the salad itself, such as the beets and dates. I was told the owner doesn’t allow this. Allow this? I’m a paying customer, why should I not have the option? As a business owner myself, I wouldn’t have gladly put the dressing on the side or just put light dressing on it. Where is the customer service? I waited for my salad for 25 minutes on top of that. No apology, nothing. The food itself gets a 5, but my overall experience is a 3. Need to work on customer service skills and getting the food out at a proper time.

Cute place, small, very nice attention to detail. I was expecting a value-driven venue given the lower rents in the area. Nope. I’m usually one to gloss over Unilocal reviews that focus on price, but what you get here for the $ just really stands out as a negative. Service from register guy and manager/owner was friendly, conversational and patient. Portland has so many options for handheld breakfast items, the fried egg biscuit here was average with an above average cost($ 8) and below average size(borderline tiny.) The Blueberry Muffin was moist and good. The $ 10 special was a shallow dish of potatoes in an overly milky sauce, but with a nice crust. We only finished half, a definite pass item. The small almond tart looked inviting, but not for $ 7. No espresso(sigh), but a well-made Café au Lait. The downside is it’s $ 3.50 and served in a soup bowl. I’m a small cup java guy, not into volume. I’m not sure what theme they’re after as there is French inspired offerings, Northwest flare, and cans of Thai coconut milk for sale. In the end, Milk Glass Marrket is a nice meeting spot, definitely adds character to the neighborhood, but it won’t come to mind for recommended small breakfast venues like Sweedeedee and Arleta. My rating is more like 2.5 Stars, but I’m trying to stay true to the definition of a 2-Star, i.e., «Meh, I’ve experienced better.» That is, 2 Stars is not the same as a «D.»
