Decent gelato, lots of turnover. Never seemed to find their footing in running a business… revolving menu/vendor changes. Now as of 1/18/2011…Out of Business

I heart this place. If I am ever detained by a super secret, three letter government agency and tortured by being repeatedly dunked in a water tank, I want it actually to a tank filled with the coconut Gelato from this place. At which point I will eat it all and the awesomeness of the Gelato will grant me super human powers to escape and kill my captors. Sort of like Ironman, I guess:) Gelato was Italian authentic, great prices and the staff is super friendly. They just need to move this place to Vegas so I can get a part time job where I will not EVEN consider eating half of what I make. Yum.

the best gelato that i have ever had in the US, and some of the best i have had in the world. 5 stars all the way!

Nice gelato joint, and comfortable enough to take a break and sit awhile. The caramel gelato was really good, but even the smallest size was too rich for me to finish. Nothing crazy unique flavor wise, but a solid taste.

Aww… sad…we took the Mother-in-law here on a recent trip she made up from Salem to see us. No more pizza at this location. The gelato and sorbetto are still there and yummy though. When the Mother-in-law comes up for visits, she never leaves without a trip to Mio Gelato.

If I lived in this neighborhood, I would walk here all the time, but I would also probably drive a much nicer car. The gelato is fresh tasting and they have a great selection of traditional flavors. The prices are totally reasonable, and I like the outdoor patio seating. They also have a wonderful assortment of other sorts of treats, definitely a great place.

Only three reviews!!! This place is always packed: kids, old people, walkers, bikers, dogs(outside)… Very smooth authentic tasting gelato. One of the few places around that has stracciatella.(if you don’t know then you need to try it, it’s like chocolate chip but not) Always a wide variety of fruit flavors that are all fat free but are as thick and creamy as the milk based gelato. For those that don’t know gelato is lower fat than ice cream. It is smoother, more flavorful and creamer but still lower in fat. I won’t even eat ice cream anymore. Check them out — plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and nice clean bathrooms. I want them to stay in business since they are a little over a mile from my house. If we walk it we really deserve an extra scoop. P. S. how come the spell check doesn’t know the word gelato?

Yes. Yes. Yes. Mio Gelato gets a five-yelps review from me. Get the good stuff – handcrafted gelato made with fresh quality ingredients, made up fresh in small batches, daily. I can indeed walk here, and while I try not to do so TOO often(I would become very large, indeed), I often do find myself strolling along with my two dogs, just a little further than our usual walk route – just so I can get a fix of Mio Gelato. They will let you sample a taster spoon(or two, or three…) of what’s in the case, but honestly, I have yet to try a bad flavor. I can’t usually help myself and go for a double-dipper of two complementary flavors at the same time(hey, if you’ve made it this far, you might as well get what you came for and go for the gusto). For me, this is usually something chocolate, and something fruity like blackberry or raspberry. Or rum raisin. Ah.ah.ahahah.hahaaa…(drool). The panini’s are delicious, as is the coffee(Illy brand). The people are nice and patient and friendly(even though they must build up Popeye arms scooping out frozen gelato all day long.) I am simply delighted that they are here.

Sour! That’s what I like… Sour! And outside of a great Sicilian gelato stand in Florence, there’s only one place I know of for sour; Mio Gelato. The lemon gelato is a cold and puckering delight that will banish the summer heat from your tongue AND your mind. With just one small dish you will be adrift on mouth-numbing clouds of citric delight. Oh, yeah. They have lots of other good flavors, too!(But who cares?)

The thing I like best about this place, other than walking distance from the house, is that the offerings are inconsistent. By that I mean what’s good and fresh is what’s in the gelato cooler. If mango is good and fresh, it’s there. So, if you want really good fruit sorbeto, or classic gelato flavors, good coffee and a nice place to hang out, this is the place. The panini are also quite good.

The gelato here is awesome. Some purists may complain, but I’ve never tasted better sorbetto in my life. It seriously tastes like you are biting into a perfectly sweet whatever type of fruit you get. The marionberry is wonderful, and I heard they also do plum which I’m excited for. The gelato is also great, I tried a few and settled on chocolate coffee, which was a perfect balance between cold, sweet, and just a little bitter. They also have great coffee, and free wifi, which means I can spend my afternoon eating gelato, drinking coffee, and applying for jobs.
