We got a slice of Pepperoni Pizza from here after cider-tasting at the Portland Cider House across the street. Oasis Café did not look like a place with amazing food, and probably did not need to have amazing food to cure hangovers and entertain a tipsy crowd given its proximity to the bars in the area. But man, the slice of pizza we got was so good. Greasy? Yes. Mind-blowing? Definitely yes. I regrettably did not use the check-in discount. But for how affordable(~$ 3.5) and delicious the pizza slice was, I had no complaints.

Meh. Nothing special, but it will get the job done. They only had cheese when I went in and it didn’t impress me. The crust was too thick, mushy and greasy for my liking. I have a feeling due to my timing it had been sitting out for a bit.

Best by the slice gluten free pizza in PDX. Great for a simple date night. And super affordable

Portland is not a pizza town, or at least is not a town where pizza is(a/the) defining dish. As such, I cannot fault other pizzerias for having sub-par pizza. But in my humble opinion, OC serves Portland’s best slice: It is not definitely New York or Chicago in style, but simply superb in combination, toppings, etc. A bit pricey for just 2 slices, but well worth it.

Gluten free pizza that is totally good and sold by the slice! The music is good, the service is quick and there is pinball while you wait. The least pretentious place to eat on Hawthorne. *vegetarian *gf

Stopped in for a slice & a pint before a concert at the theater, and I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in town. Delicious food and friendly staff!

Aside from homeboy with a perm being slightly socially inept the lady at the counter was very nice. Pizza isn’t terrible, probably wouldn’t put it on my list of pizza to try before you die though. Seriously though, perm dude, not gonna have people breaking the doors down to get in with that iPad and terrible personality coupling.

I guess if you’re in the area and are hungry this isn’t a terrible place to stop, but this place just didn’t blow my skirt up as far as pizza is concerned. I love pizza by the slice, but $ 4.20(see what they did there?) isn’t what I would consider a good deal for one slice. I got the ham and pineapple pizza, which again was not terrible, but the consistency of the dough was a little too mushy for my liking. I’m a dough and crust kind of girl. The ambiance is what you would come to expect for a street pizza joint, with booths, a couple tables, and some nice window bar seats. The staff is friendly and quick. Not bad, not great, and definitely not the cheapest slice of pizza you’ll eat.

Pretty overpriced for an average pizza. Definitely not worth getting. The only thing I liked about this place was the cheese and pepper shakers.

Hungry on Hawthorne and in a hurry, this is where I go. Very tasty pizza, with lots of good slice choices, usually, As with many places, could be a little cheaper. Great people working here. Sit at the window and watch the world whirl by.

10% Unilocal check in discount! My daughter and I stopped here for lunch on our way up to Washington. It serves pizza by the slice. I had a spinach salad, which was very good.

We had a great time visiting Hawthorne Ave and thought we would try some Portland pizza. I will say we were a little disappointed with the product. I did like the dough but for my taste they use too much tomato sauce and not enough cheese.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. The love: food is always tasty. I’m very happy with the vegan choices. Food has never been a problem. Employees have always been polite. The hates: SLOW. They don’t have ready-made vegan slices which is a huge bummer. Their sign says 8 – 10 minutes, which is fine. But every time I’ve ordered food it’s taken 20+ minutes for me to receive it. And when I only have 30 minutes for lunch, I see no incentive to eat here. That, and today I waited in line to purchase a cookie only to reach the counter and find out there’s a minimum purchase requirement for credit cards, and I saw no sign anywhere that could have informed me of this. It’s the 21st century. This should not be an issue anymore. Not to mention that a slice of pizza costs less than that minimum amount, so maybe they just want you to spend more money. I probably won’t be back for awhile.

Dropped by for some pizza and was really disappointed. Slices are over priced and the pizza was barely warm from the heat lamps. I agree with a previous poster that there are too many of these types of pizza joints in town. It’s standard cheap pizza fare yet it’s $ 3.40(.60?) for a slice of pepperoni pizza. The slice was soggy and soft. I don’t get the high praises or price point. I wouldn’t mind the price if the pizza was actually good, but it wasn’t and left me feeling disappointed. I say if you’re looking for a good olé slice of pizza skip this place.

I’ve been going to Oasis for years now but I think it’s time to move on. Went there for lunch today and was treated very rudely. As I walked in to the restaurant for lunch i was stopped straight away at the register. Wanted to wash my hands first. The girl working there said«you can’t just come in here and use our restroom. You’re gonna have to buy something!» I know I look like a homeless skeleton right now having been sick for three months and having lost 40 pounds, but that pissed me off!!! I told her I’m well aware of your policy. You have a huge sign at eye level on the front door and I am literate! Portland has plenty of restaurants. No love lost here!

They only care about yuppies and money . Spend your money else where

Surprise! There’s decent pizza around Portland if you can find it. Yes, I have ranted on the overhyped places that were let downs, the hole in the walls that were good and those with New York or ties to the city in their names that need to go back to New York and taste what pizza should be. I’m tough about it. I’ve passed the Oasis on a number of occasions. It’s a pizza joint for people watchers, but on first glance, one might think it’s just another coffee shop. Oasis Café doesn’t exactly scream pizza place. I was at Powell’s selling books and saw the $ 5.00 special. A slice and a soda/lemonade. Works for me. The slices looked good but that doesn’t really mean a whole lot. It could have tasted like cardboard. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. I had a nice slice of pepperoni that tasted like pepperoni. Wow. What a concept. The pizza was above average. Pepperoni was flavorful and the cheese and sauce were spot on as well. The crust tasted good and the outer crust had a pretzel quality to it. The downside? It was too thick and not crispy. The taste was there, it just need more time in the oven so it wouldn’t be doughy. The folks running it were very friendly and they had the slow jams going on. This is a spot to return to. Don’t just follow the crowd, try other pizza places, they may surprise you. Enjoy.

One of the best Pizza slices I’ve had in Portland! I’ll definitely be coming back. Loved their vegetarian option as well.

Excellent service and custom pizza by the slice. My wife and I stopped by here on a whim with our dog. They set up a table outside and made a custom vegan slice for my wife. Pizza wasn’t «top shelf» by any means but they are generous with the toppings(very generous). We will keep this one on the top of our quick-pizza-on-a-sunny-day list!
