Cute store! It’s really a one-​stop-​shop for gifts, cards, wrapping paper, notebooks, and Maine-​related merchandise. Also great if you’re looking for a more specific card, like celebrating retirement! Much cuter selection of birthday and thank you cards than the typical drugstore Hallmark selection. Go local!

I liked Old Port Card Works. If you’re looking for a birthday card, this store makes it really easy because they’re all in the front. But not me, I was looking for a get well card and they were in the back. I found the guy working there to be really friendly and helpful, and there was an amazing selection of novelty stuff. I really should have bought a handful of miniature rubber chickens but I didn’t, and this means I have to go back soon.

The 2 people working there who I think are the owners were rude and obnoxious. I had just overpaid for 2 hats and no one was in the store. The woman was on the phone and when I finished paying the man (husband?) came over and was extremely rude and dismissive. This is a gift shop, there are many like it in Portland, so don’t go to this one unless you like supporting mean and unfriendly owners. No one is like this in Portland which makes it all the more strange.

Chock full o’ cards, wrapping materials, Mainey goods, and gag gifts.
The cards range from artsy to jokey, but they’re all of a higher quality than one might find at a convenience store. I was actually surprised by just how many gag gifts this place had. It’s a veritable Spencer’s Gifts in there!
I went in there needing a bunch of supplies for my wife’s birthday, and I left with everything I needed and more. The store is dense with product, but it’s organized well and fun to browse.
Oh, and they also sell helium balloons!

Cute store! We wanted gummy lobsters and this store delivered! I also ended up getting some chocolate-​covered blueberries, which made me totes happy.
