This panda is now closed! Don’t go here! I drove all the way here and come to fine that they have closed down!

I went to this panda after a long horrible day just wanting some quick Simple Chinese food it was late so my choices were limited 9:30 pm at least as far as restaurants so I thought anyway. I walk into this panda and immediately notice there is literally only four trays left of chicken and then some rice and old nasty looking chowmein! OK first of all the most annoying part was NO selection and you are open for another 30 minutes at least have enough of each entrée for a serving good god and then the entrees they did still have none were labeled correctly which made knowing what they were a pain! I ended up getting something because I had not ate all day and wanted Chinese but the gentlemen who helped me was rude and hardly said a word to me! I also find it annoying that you don’t put silverware and fortine cookies and soy sauce in the bag for me like at other pandas I just feel the worker is getting off easy and shouldn’t be payed to hardly do NOTHING! Please have a selection or close earlier!

Arrived at 11:30 for lunch and most of the trays were empty. There was only one cook on duty and we had to wait 14 minutes for several of our entrée items to come out. I foolishly chose the Orange Chicken as one of my entrees and it was dry and chewy and stale tasting as if it was leftover from the day before. I love Panda Express and there are several great ones I could visit instead. I’ll be skipping this one from now on.

I have never been at a panda this horrific. I didn’t know that a chain could have food that is so removed from the chain’s norm and stay open. But yes, it is possible. You probably think of Panda for quick oriental food, pretty fresh ingredients, lots of food. Well then you would be WRONG about this location. The food was so overcooked I couldn’t tell what the different selections WERE. I asked for them to cook fresh, the server agreed, but when they went to fill the order(does this sound like Panda or WHAT?) it was another server doing it… so he began to fill the plates with the old food I couldn’t recognize. When the orange chicken came,(three members of our party ordered it) it was TERRIBLE. It tasted as if the chicken were bad. They re-cooked it, but they didn’t take the old stuff. Yuck. I finally went up and got an egg roll figuring those are ordered in. It was not cooked in the middle. If you want Panda Express… there are other locations close by. Drive on by this one.

I’ve been to this Panda a few times, generally nothing special, nothing terrible. However, this last time almost all the food in the trays looked like it had been sitting there for hours. It was dry and GROSS. The employees aren’t too bad, nothing you wouldn’t expect from a Panda Express, but the food this time seriously made me question eating there ever again. If the people working there think it’s alright to serve food that looked like that, then what else do they think it ok to do when customer’s aren’t even in front of them?! Also, I’ve noticed that the water spout on the soda machine sprays water all over your hand when you try to retrieve water from it, and the trash can is generally overflowing. I won’t be going back unless it’s one of those fun days where Panda gives out free food to celebrate a new entrée. If it’s free I guess I’ll put up with it.

The off-kilter logo is very avant garde. Kudos, PE!

Food and service were excellent, staff very helpful and pleasant. Some staff training going on, so thought they needed another crew member, but maybe in these economic times that is unrealistic.

Had a snack here today. Uuugh! Safeway Chinese is better than that.

This one is across the street(sort of) from PGE Park, so if you aren’t in the mood for a burger and nachos and such you can get in the ballpark and want a fast meal, it’s a good place to eat. I think the food is ok and is not that terrible for fast-food Chinese, though they can be kind of greasy and/or too sweet(or funnily dry in case of the fried rice and noodles). If you’re working from PGE Park, though, you’re sure to pass a few people smoking cigarettes on the street so be prepared to inhale some smoke.

i roll into panda express once a week at 15 minutes to closing time, and i typically get my food cooked fresh. it’s really awesome that they do that, and it makes all the difference. the food tastes really good when it comes right out of the wok. also you can get tons of veggies and a reasonably healthy overall meal if you order the right stuff(NOT orange chicken). 5 stars because it succeeds in its niche.

It’s official. JW is trying to kill me. I won’t speculate as to the why. In exchange for a bounty of moving boxes I was convinced to consume the entire brine contents of Avery Island disguised as a plate of Chyneez food. Shrivelled and desiccated, I guzzle water to no avail. My teeth taste like the ocean.

I’m not sure why this place has such good ratings. I live just a couple of blocks away, and because of the convenience and price, I stop in more often than I should. I like Panda Express well enough, although I find their food pretty tame and generic. But that’s not so much my beef with them. The problem with this Panda is, their food is very hit-or-miss. They’re real big on reconstituting things that have been sitting in the steam tray for too long. Sometimes I go in, and the food is in great shape. Other times, the meat is chewey and the vegetables are mush. When the breading on the orange chicken requires some serious biting to get through… well, it’s time to replace the tray. Now, whenever I visit, I take a quick look at the Kung Pao and Orange Chicken and whatever«seasonal» item they have… if I can find two entrees that look to be in good shape, I’ll go ahead and order. Otherwise, it’s over to Fred Meyers and a little cooking at home.

This is why people eat fast food. There’s no chefly fussiness, no servers whining about their tips, the place is laid out to be customer friendly and the food is always the same. That’s called consistency, folks. This was the third place I tried to eat at tonight. I’m not finicky or demanding. I just want to sit down and get my food. I’d thought of the Panda right away and in the end my instincts were correct. And those baby panda orange chicken vs Beijing beef boxers? How can you not love that?

The Call of the Panda Panda Express, no matter where it is located, gets a 5 in my book. I’ve been obsessed with their americanized chinese food ever since that delicious orange chicken ignited my taste buds for the first time. The chow mein, with the glistening flavor crystals and tastey sprouts compliments the orange chicken perfectly. And for a second entrée, you know I get the kung pow chicken! Since college, I have seriously spent at least $ 1000 on their food. It is good hangover food, good lunch food, alright dinner food, and an all around amazing experience. Whenever my Pandar(panda radar) goes off in a new town, I have to try it. It’s just a shame they have to kill all those cute pandas to make my stomach happy… :(
