Good coffee, some nice gluten-free snakcs and a nice little play area for your kid(with good seating around the play area to allow you to watch your child while you drink your coffee and they have fun!) and the staff was helpful and friendly.

One of the best places for great coffee in south east Portland. Consequently it can get packed in the morning. But if you can get one of their overstuffed chairs, and you usually can, it’s the best for hanging out and people watch and take advantage of the free wifi.

Comfy chairs and friendly staff make this a nice neighborhood spot. It’s also very kid-friendly, with a kids area and kids drinks. The downside to the kid-friendly aspect is that this place gets packed on weekends, and is not a good study spot for the easily-distracted at all and you have to make sure you don’t trip over a fast traveling small person. Drinks can be hit or miss– the blended mocha is delicious, and always well-made but I’ve gotten espresso drinks with grounds in it twice. Overall it’s an enjoyable spot to visit.

Always stop here with my grandson when visiting from Cleveland. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. Coffee isn’t bad either. Love the bagels!

The coffee was not good. My friends and I liked how cheap it was but it’s cheap for a reason. Not only did I get the wrong size drink, all of our drinks tasted watered down. One of us also ordered a hot chocolate which was barely hot. Do not go here

Great people, good but speedy drinks but filthy dirty place. Have to clean table and chairs floor covered with food and dust.

I should have written this review a while ago. I used to be a daily customer at this establishment $ 15+ a day for over 4 years! One day I was treated very rudely. I wrote a letter to the owner where I included bank statements showing how much $$$ I had spent in just 6 months. The letter was returned! I’m now a happy customer at The First Cup right down the street. Coffee is consistent and way better. STUMPTOWN, enough said.

My hubby came here for a coffee date while on vacation. Pretty cool atmosphere, good coffee, interesting flavors… everything we’d expect from a local coffeehouse. We’ll be back on our next visit to Portland!

Coming here for years. A really great low stress venue. Great coffee too. Jess

They make a great«London fog». The place is a little disorderly(newspapers lying around everywhere and dirty tables) and because there is a kids area, it’s pretty loud(lots of excited screams and kids running around). The bagels are middle of the road, but the donuts are always fresh and tasty!

If you’re an early riser like me you’ll enjoy a really decent $ 1 cup of coffee right when they open. I enjoy the murals and friendly service. This place feels very Woodstock: slightly gritty yet practical, convenient, inexpensive and satisfying.

Good service and decent coffee. I couldn’t quite pinpoint why I didn’t care for this coffee shop… I think the amount of children that was presented on a Sunday morning or the dated décor. Distracting! It wasn’t a relaxing environment that I felt I could sit at and do work or enjoy a conversation with a companion. They didn’t have very many options in terms of pastries either. I got my coffee to-go.

I had the papa mocha and it was good. It’s a large space with colorful murals on the wall. It has lots of comfortable seating such as arm chairs and couches but also has tables and chairs for working on lap tops or reading. The staff was friendly, answered questions and were quick at getting drink orders filled. I’ll go back and try the cereal bar next time.

A super comfortable place to relax and work or chat with friends. I also really appreciate the kids area. As a mom of two young kids, there are definitely times that we need to walk over there so I can drink a coffee and take a breather while the kids play. The coffee is mediocre and the service is the same. Not bad but not great. Either way, I will continue to visit for the space itself and to support a local business!

Good coffee, friendly service. Not the best place to try to get work done(on your laptop). The neighborhood is filled with families with young kids so the owner has catered to that demographic. And rightly so. So it can be bit distracting at times with kids running around a bit and loud conversations. However, it is bright, open with plenty of comfortable seating. Very nice neighborhood coffee shop. Owner is friendly, employees are efficient and nice. Just don’t expect to sit in one of their comfortable chairs and get lost in a good book or to quietly work on your laptop.

Inspired coffee! What a great neighborhood coffee place. Great for families too. Plenty of tables, comfy seating, play area for kids, and a Woodstock cornerstone. I’m always impressed when coffee places strive to be more than just a simple sit n’ sip, and creating atmosphere is the key. They do that really well here, and you can tell just walking in that it’s a local favorite. Only thing that keeps it from more stars from me is simply the edible offerings. I had coffee and a bagel with hummos. Coffee was great, but the bagel was on the stale side, and not tasty, nor was the hummos. The other baked goods didn’t look appealing, and looked rather old. I don’t want to fault the place, it’s just my opinion and perhaps it was just an off day. With so many sandwich and coffee places, I don’t think I would come here to eat. However, I do think this is a great place, especially if you have kids, and want to relax and enjoy a coffee.

This place is so cute! Wifi available. Excellent food and coffee/tea options. A clean bathroom. And a play area for the munchkins. Great ambiance, friendly staff. Overall happy with this! And the pumpkin latte is excellent too.

Very comfortable space! I sat at a large shared table with a dude who felt comfortable enough to walk away from his computer several times. Do I look super trustworthy? Or is this place super safe? Very nice baristas! Who made me a delicious chai, and who did not get attitude when it was 5 minutes to closing and there were still several people there. Did he have faith that we would on our own clear the place with minutes to spare? Because we did. Very easy parking! A row of parking right next to the space, plus the attached Safeway lot.
