This is my favorite bike shop in Portland. The staff was very helpful and they are really knowledgable. I’ll definitely be going back with all of my biking needs!

Very nice and relaxed staff and environment. Treated kindly when i asked to have a flat tire fixed and if they could teach me how to do it myself.

My daughter had a flat on a 30 mile loop we often do. After changing the tube we stopped into Revolver and the graciously topped of the last few psi. Thanks!

I bought my Kona Dew Plus here about 5 months ago. Have had it serviced by these guys a couple times. They are friendly and know what they are doing. They value their customers. I have had nothing but a good experience here. They go above and beyond.

This shop has the nicest, most helpful & knowlesgeable staff with zero bike nerd elitism. I am lucky they are right down the street, one of the staff actually taught me how to change my tire. I stopped in for a wierd small piece of hardware & they just gave it to me. Stores like this are what make Portland great.

My friend Kronda, does this bike shop’s website as I understand it. It was by happenstance I think that I ended up buying my Surly from these guys, but Kronda said when I told her where I was buying it «They’re really good guys.»
I think it goes beyond that.
These guys make me feel like I’m the only one in the shop all the time. Their attention to me, to my bike repair questions/​issues and to my bike are top notch. Today is an excellent case in point. I took my Surly in for a 6 month service, which was included as part of my purchase. When I picked it up today, it looked like a brand new bike. Hell, it was even a different color! (ok, I made that up). But what isn’t made up is that the bike not only sparkles (metaphorically speaking) so does the entire drive train. It’s as if they disassembled the drive train and soaked it in solvent. Indeed, that’s exactly what they did. Needless to say, I can’t wait to ride my Surly again, nor can I wait to bring my Surly back to these guys and experience their knowledge, friendliness and first-​class customer service.

I Am beyond satisfied with my experience. The employees are honest and well experienced. I called in ahead of time before stopping in to get a quick bike check up and replace a flat. Eric took the time to answer all if my questions thoroughly and said they could help me out right away. I went in thinking I might need to buy completely new tires since I have a 15 mile commute daily and they didn’t pressure me into buying any. In fact, Eric said my tires were in good shape still and there wasn’t the necessity to spend all the money for new ones. He didn’t even recommend a tune up when I thought I might need one since I had gotten one 3 months prior. I only spent what was necessary and it was cheaper than taking the time to do it myself on this busy day! Thanks Revolver!

Very friendly staff. I looked all over for my next bike. This store is small compared to some but a good selection and prices. What kept me there was the personalized experience and the knowledgeable and friendly staff.

These guys are the real-​deal Neighborhood Bike Shop. I was recommended to them about 7 years ago; I had just started bike commuting and they are right on my MAX line. They are helpful, very knowledgeable, great bike mechanics and good folks. Yes, the workers do look like I’m at a casting call for «Portlandia», but I feel the same way every place I go in Portland. It isn’t how they dress; it’s how good they are at their jobs, how much they like what they do, and how well they do it. For that, and for how well I am treated when I go there, they are My Bike Store.
That’s a big claim in a town like Portland. I love the folks at Bike Gallery, and have always had a good experience there. But Revolver is My Store.

Got a tune up recently. Did a great job and the bike is riding smooth the way it should. Thanks guys!

Update: I reviewed this in August and didn’t have a great experience with a flat repair. I gave the review 2 stars. However the shop owner contacted me recently and took an effort to understand exactly what happened. I knew the people at the shop were friendly, but I like dealing with people who have integrity as well. Maybe I’ll stop in again.
Original Review: Took my bike in for a flat fix and had to take it in again one week later for the same flat. They returned the bike with the seat 6 inches above where I had it. One week later the same tire was flat again. I’m putting my faith in someplace else.

Fixed my tire issue for free an gave excellent advice.
They helped me figure out an economical plan for my most recent purchase which was very awesome! So glad this is my neighborhood bike shop :)

Love this little place. Came here for the first time yesterday to get my little brother a bike. The guy that helped us was definitely an expert. I mean come on, he was able to explain to a 10 year old about the bike and had him understand. They’re super nice and even helped me load the bike inside my little sedan.

Thanks guys for fixing my helmet. The adjustment mechanism was broken and I figured I would be out helmet shopping this afternoon. My boyfriend brought it in and you fixed it!

Excellent shop! I’m an admitted bicycle newbie in the midst of what could be the most 2-​wheeled intensive city in the country. Employees were super friendly and patient as they walked me through all the basics I needed to get me underway. A definite two thumbs up!

I went here to get a tune up for my new ride last summer. These guys really know what they’re doing. Sure, it might be kinda expensive. But that’s to be expected. And it’s not any more expensive than any other bike shop. They will treat you right and won’t make you feel dumb for not knowing much about bikes. I was greatly impressed by their knowledge and expertise. Plus my bike rode great afterwards. Thanks, Revolver Bikes!

MY A2B bike pulled up lame with a flat on my way to work. While they didn’t have the correct size tube, they where able to patch it up and get me on my way.
Even though they where quite busy, they expedited the work.

It seems that bicycle stores are very similar to coffee shops here in Portland: there’s at least one on every corner. Not only is it a saturated market, but there wouldn’t be so many if there weren’t such a high demand. The problem is trying to pick the right one.
I view bicycle shops kind of like doctors. You should go through the process of finding one you like by asking your friends or researching online, assessing what you want in a from a bike shop, and finding one close to home. Fortunately, the bike doctors over at Revolver ended up being my top choice.
I was looking to purchase a new commuter/​touring bicycle, and I started searching around at some of the bigger stores. At these stores, you don’t really get the personal attention that the smaller ones give so it can be quite difficult to find what fits your bicycle needs. I moved to a few other smaller stores and most of their offerings were in the racing bike department.
Finally, my final stop was also the closest to my home: Revolver. Just a meer 3 blocks away, I should have made it my first stop but I had the entire «bigger selection is better» mentality. Revolver’s selection may be small, but if you’re looking for a cyclocross, touring, or commuter bike then this is the place to be!
A lot of the bike shops have that cyclist pretentiousness about them, but Revolver is more than happy to answer any newbie questions you may have. Furthermore, their prices are really fantastic for both equipment purchases and service. In fact, they’ve done a number of smaller repairs for me at no charge at all!
I highly recommend this place if you live in the area, or if you’re looking for one of the better Surly selections in town.
