I’m one of the biggest fans of Stephouse. They offered me internet service where Comcast and Century Link couldn’t reach. I get the speed that I pay for and I am just really quite happy with how hassle-free my entire experience with this company has been. Keep it up Stephouse!

A local ISP that provides excellent service! I’m so glad I was able to get Stephouse at my office in St. Johns. I wish their area was bigger, so I could get it at my apartment too. Everything is simple. No contracts, great service, simple pricing. No extra ad-ons or miscellaneous charges on my monthly statements! Isn’t that how it should be? Two gentleman came to install everything at my office. I like that you don’t rent a modem from them, and can use your own! I haven’t had any issues with my connection or bills since I signed up. I am recommending Stephouse to everyone that is upset with their current internet provider! Please expand your service area so everyone can experience your awesomeness!

For anyone that hates Comcast or their ISP let me share a ringing endorsement for a local company: Stephouse. I have been with them for about 5 years and have a connection at both my home and office. They deliver internet via LOS or Line of Site — meaning they transmit data from antennas downtown to a dish that is installed on your home or business. As long as your location is within direct site of one of their antennas they can deliver high speed internet to you. Their price is very reasonable(plans start at $ 45/mo. — I have the 10mbps plan for $ 55/mo.) and their service is amazing! Any time I’ve had a problem I can call up a tech with no wait. If they need to replace or reconfigure the equipment they can usually come out the same day or next and give me an exact arrival time. not a 4 hour window. Their people are very knowledgable and genuinely want to resolve the issue. If they say they will follow up… they do! Of course with LOS there can be issues with interference and such, but their track record of service with me is just amazing. I walked in unannounced to their office downtown yesterday to replace my POE device and Tyler, the president, personally helped me and even followed up by email this morning to see how things were working. I will never give another nickel to Comcast or Qwest… errrr…Century Link… and neither should you.

Stephouse is amazing. I’m so glad that Portland has a local, small-business alternative to the Voldemort-esque evil of Comcast and AT&T when it comes to internet service. To set up your internet, Stephouse sends a tech to install a satellite on your roof(or on the side of your house/condo). Then they run a grounded ethernet line into the room of your choice, on that side of the house. The satellite acts as your modem, so all you need to have is a router, which many of us already have anyway from our other internet travails. The installation tech showed up at my house exactly at our scheduled appointment time, and he was clean, professional, and very polite. Answered all my questions and made sure everything was working/the signal was strong in all rooms before I signed the invoice. But what about the SPEED, right? Absolutely comparable to Comcast and AT&T, whose services I’ve begrudgingly used at my previous residences. Stephouse’s prices are very competitive with(if not cheaper than) the big-name providers. I selected the«10 mbps down /1.5 mbps up» plan for $ 55/mo. because I wanted a super-fast connection for movies, gaming, Skype, etc. There’s no contract with Stephouse; you just pay month-to-month. I’m not sure if they serve all areas of Portland — from what I gather, it seems to be based not only on your neighborhood but also on your precise street location and whether they can point a satellite towards a certain location downtown and have the signal be uninterrupted by trees and other buildings. Anyway, you can just call them and give your address, and they’ll tell you whether they can provide service to you. If you want to get the H-E-double-hockey-sticks away from the inferno of Comcast, I’d highly recommend Stephouse.

So far, it’s good!!! Been using Stephouse Wireless for the Portland office for 2 months now and I’m happy. In my opinion the 3MBPS package at $ 35 per month is a solid solution to replace Comcast internet. All except… I had to bump up to the $ 45 per month 6MBPS package because wasn’t working for online meetings with the 768 kilobytes per second upload speed. If I didn’t need to use for work, I’d stay on the $ 35 per month plan.
