Fantastic subway franchise. Above and beyond any other I’ve been to. Clean space and friendly staff were welcome and appreciated. So glad I came to this one on my trip through Portland.

So there is that guy who works late at night with a neck tatt who has that greyish goatee. I’ve seen him harass so many people. Especially gay people. I keep my head down. He’s rhymed fajitas with vaginas. The chicken fajita sandwich. He’s called my roast beef sandwich a beef curtain. He’s had the cops called on him for harassing gay people but as he said, he serves all the cops in the neighborhood and as promised by him, they did nothing cuz cops are cops and they said it’s a private business and he can refuse service to anyone. It seems like a blatant and no brainer lawsuit. Anyone with similar experiences, please contact me so we can put something together.

I was the manager of this subway for a month and I thought I’d share to the public a little bit about this location, first off the owners are shitty and don’t care about their store or their employees. Their subway manager who would go check on all their franchises would have the employees write fake temp log temperatures due to the food not temping at safe temperature zones which could result in a customer getting sick. They failed 2 store inspections due to that and the store is on the verge of getting shut down, the cold wells that keeps the food cold was made in Mexico in the 1990s and can’t be fixed because they don’t make it anymore. I am not writing this out of anger just thought the public should know about this problem. Great employees but I refuse to work for a store owner that doesn’t care about their store, customers and their safety, and also their employees. Hopefully the store owners get their shit together

I called a Subway in Portland OR that is open 24 hours a day, and they were extremely rude!!! Seriously, Just because I asked if the location did the sub of the day, I know they are a franchise and wanted to make sure what their specials are for this location. Not all subways have the same specials in some areas. The man remarked, «you just called 8 times for that, that is a silly question, you could have seen that on the website.» What if I was blind? What if I was too drunk too read the screen, or not thinking straight because I am hangry. I was so not rude. I will not eat at Subway again. Used to be my go to late night night snack. Also, one of the remaining affordable and kind of healthy late night or all night spots in Portland. I was not feeling well and was sending my boyfriend. It was my birthday also! This was my first time to try this location. I usually go to other 24 hour ones here and yeah, this didn’t rub me the right way. Please don’t bother messaging me either! You could have made your smart a** comment when we got off the phone. JERK

I went to this subway for lunch today. I ask for soup and six-inch bread, which I always get. They recently changed management. Now they won’t sell me just bread. Whatever happened to pleasing the customer? Every other subway I’ve been to has sold me a 6″ piece for $.50. I’m so disappointed, I will never go there again!

Good shop with friendly service. One peeve though — when I’m the only one in the store why make my sandwich with the speed of light like there are 40 people behind me? In haste to get me out of there my bread was cut an inch and a half too short to constitute a 6″ sandwich. Subway goes to a lot of trouble to measure just the right ingredients to pull a profit so give me what I pay for. All I know is someone out there got a 7 ½″ sandwich today for a 6″ price and it wasn’t me. LOL.

Definitely a fan of this Subway location goes. It’s typically very clean and the line isn’t ever too terribly long either. Aside from it being a typical Subway restaurant, it does have a couple of little perks that I should mention: 1) There are some real comfy chairs in there(like how Starbucks has a couple of really nice, comfy chairs in just about each restaurant). 2) Again, very clean(which some Subway restaurants don’t seem to be sometimes). 3) It’s right next to a fantastic froyo place. So grab a relatively healthy sandwich and some froyo for dessert!

I eat at so many Subways I can’t keep count and this Subway is a good one. I’ve been to some bad ones and I’ve been to a couple that tip the scales higher but this one is really good. Michael on the swing shift KICKSASS! That guy is ALWAYS cleaning when no one is ordering and he’s ALWAYS chipper. OMG I’ve never seen a nicer Subway guy that wasn’t cheesy fake, and the guy works. They all make a good sandwich and the food is ‘usually’ fresh — the reason I say ‘usually’ is because it always is but they’ve got a problem with the late afternoon sun spoiling their cheeses and spreads and some of the meats almost daily in the summer. GETSOMESHADESMAN! If they invested in a shade just for ONE of their big windows it’d save them so much money in food they have to throw away monthly(which IS wasteful so that part of it sucks you Subway guys!)… that’s the GOOD news for you though — that they throw it out: they don’t let it sit there and get on your sandwich! These guys are really good about watching their food, and the bread is always soft, a HUGE one on my Subway needs! One cool thing about this place is that the décor is a step up. Lots of Subway sandwich shops go with the bare minimum because they know they can, and lots of other sub shops are skimpy on style too, but this place is nice. They’ve got high tables & barstools and have even got a couple lounge chairs in one corner and comfy booths for families on the other side &2 patio tables outside with umbrellas. Wood trimmings, tile floor, marbled wall paint, and the ceiling is high too, so it feels bigger than it is. One thing this Subway is missing that a lot of others have though is a TIPJAR– sometimes I want to throw a couple bucks to the fun guy that makes my great sandwiches 3 – 4 times a week & it’s a little embarrassing to hafta ask«um, where’s your tip jar? Can I tip you?» — It makes a patron timid and doesn’t allow people that are timid by nature to feel like tipping.(I’m NOT timid at all so I just do it.) All the staff is pretty friendly, they remember me AND my sandwich as well as all the«regulars» that I see… oh yeah, they have a lot of «regulars» — that’s always a good sign!

Yeah, it’s Subway and Subway can blow me, buuuut it’s open until midnight. I can’t complain too much about that.

It’s so nice to know that there is a Subway in the hood’. Being surrounded by places that serve more expensive food is nice, but sometimes it’s nice to just have a little fast food love. The biggest plus is that the location is brand new and really clean — unlike some other places I’ve been in the past. Now if they can only put a Taco Hell in the hood…

Meet my new BFF, Grand Central Subway… I welcome you with open arms. I’m happy that I have cheap, fast, and pretty good subs place within two minutes of walking from my work. I can eat Thai, Bunk, teriyaki all the time, but I love to have the option of having $ 3.256″ meatball sub or the popular five dollah foot long subs. Not only that, this Subway is nice and cool(with working A/C) inside. They have comfy chairs and not to mention the free sample cookies right there when you are going to place your order. You can nibble on those little devils or you can also buy those fresh baked cookies. I’m addicted to them like crack. $ 1.25 for three Macadamia nut cookies, it’s not a good thing for me. Can’t quite give five stars because they don’t take the Subway club card, they said it’s only«downtown» Subways deal. Hopefully, pretty soon you will accept the club card because I will cranking up some points in no time. I can’t believe I said this, but this brand spanking new Subway is one of the highlight of 2009 for me. Yup, I just said that.
