Ok I really want to like this place but they just keep screwing up. We can bring kids, we can’t bring kids, we have food we don’t bring food. We have this beer we don’t, etc. Today, my wife and I had a rare date away from the kids. We called to see if they had food today, they said yes. We walked down there and ordered our beers only to find that they actually don’t have food today. They didn’t even offer to comp our beers. Now we don’t have time to get food before getting back to our kids so they ruined our date out. Also, personally I found their house brewed beers pretty mediocre. Good beer selection, horrible customer service. Be warned.

Great place to grab a beer and watch a game. Lots of taps of good beers, including ones brewed on premises. 20+ taps of good beer. Sadly, I’d rate the Uptown Market beers as average. I want to like them more, but they just come out middle of the road.(attention beer geeks:) Red tasted like some chocolate or roasted malt was used for color, Berliner Weiss was a decent rendition of the style, IPAs and session IPA/pale ale needed more pronounced bitterness or hop presence(sulfate?) to really hit the high notes but had decent flavor from the dry hopping. Guest taps are good choices. Good selection of bottles, good wine and cider selection, and they even have homebrewing supplies. Average prices and selection on the homebrew supplies. Food is from their food truck outside, with a decent selection of pub food to soak up the beer. Worth checking out.

Babe was craving bar food, so we went to Uptown Market. We went on a Friday night, so looking for parking was not an enjoyable experience. They have about 10 stalls in their lot, and all of them were filled when we went, so we had to find parking in the residential area across the street. The setup is a little weird too. You go inside to order drinks, but you have to order food outside at the food cart. It kind of sucks especially when you have an open tab at the bar. Food takes a while too.(I felt bad for the poor guy working the food cart.) Our food took like 20 minutes to put in an order, and then another 20 minutes to get it. The food tasted amazing though! We loved it. I had the burger, my partner ordered the Tacho. Soo good. Overall I’d say this is a place worth checking out with coworkers for after-work drinks. They also have an awesome selection of beers for you to choose from. If you’re looking for a sit-down dining experience though, I’d avoid.

I’m completely disappointed in this place, it’s has been overrun by douchebags! I’ve visited this spot over a year ago with a beer loving friend and since then I’ve been telling the BF that he needs to check it out because it had initially left a great impression on me. The clientele was douche-y and loud talking about who had the«better car», the beers on tap were unappealing, 75% of the bottles on the shelves didn’t have price labels, we ended up grabbing 2 bourbon barreled bottles to go with no idea of their cost. While standing in line, this class-less broad cuts in front of us to get cashed out and the bartender lets her even though we’ve been in line for 10 mins. And to top it off, the bartender places my receipt to sign on top of a puddle of beer on the counter. The crowd here is awful, thanks but no thanks. Never coming back.

They have ruined this place. Just a heads up, they now charge you a dollar to open up a beer for you, claiming a cork charge.

Solid brewery, gotta love $ 2 house points on Monday. The guest taps vary quite often and give a good selection. The only place I have seen to carry Striegl Goldenbrau, an amazing Salzburg brew. Not a wine drinker myself, but I hear the wine selection is good too.

I remember when this location was a 7 – 11 a zillion years ago when I was in the 7th grade and I stopped in and bought a root beer as I was walking home from Whitford. Times have sure changed, for the better no less. A great selection of beer on tap and in bottles which makes life difficult for someone as indecisive as me. The staff is super-friendly and helpful if there are any beer questions. I only wish that I lived a wee bit closer so that I could visit more often. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area and are looking for a place to relax for a bit.

Came here last night with a bunch of friends. We sat on a big table outside and all orders different tap beers and ciders. I tasted pretty much what everyone got and did not have one that I didn’t like. Staff is super friendly and the market inside has plenty of beer varieties available for purchase to take home.

This place is awesome and I’m really grateful that it’s walking distance to home. My favorite form of exercise is walking back up the hill lugging a mixed 6-pack in one hand and a full growler in the other. True that it doesn’t look like much from the outside and I thought for a long time it was a convenience store so I never bothered. Thank God for the day I wandered in looking for a bottle of water after a run… No water then(they have it now, and some other softdrinks) but damn, what a beer selection ! Bottles & cans of every variety from all over the world. In the ~3 years I’ve been a loyal customer the place has constantly improved. They have pared back the floor displays of home-brewing supplies, though I’m sure it’s all still available, and improved the indoor and outdoor seating. They increased their rotating tap selections from 6 to about 18 beers and added Cider and kombucha taps as well. They have added on-site brewing facilities and produce several really good and nicely-priced brews in house. As other reviewers have noted, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and give the place a great relaxed vibe. They will let you sample many things until you find what you like and give good descriptions for things you don’t recognize. They have some fun events and brewery tastings often. The pizza truck has been a little spotty lately but I hear they are planning to add more consistent, possibly even permanent food options soon. Highly recommended for a pint, a snob-worthy bottle selection selection(chilled or not), growlers, kegs and even a decent wine section. And for frequent customers they have punch cards for pints and growlers. Gotta love that 11th one freebie.

We can’t say enough about this place. Love Eldon and Herb(don’t write on or steal his signs please). Comfy, fun, good service, lots of ciders for me(gluten free) and they let us bring our hedgehog gwenny(Apperently unofficial mascot now). :)

This place is one of my favorite after work happy hour spots! Monday $ 2 off their drafts and Wednesday Ladies Night $ 1 micros until 6, $ 2 after are my jam! I was skeptical the first time I visited because it looks like it used to be a Plaid Pantry/7-Eleven or something, but it’s amazing the outdoor seating and indoor content you can cram into a building like that! Anyway, great bottle shop options, awesome in-house brewing, and a solid guest tap list make this place a slam dunk even without the great specials.

A little gem in Beaverton near the Fanno Creek trail. I come here every Friday after work with my coworkers for a celebratory beer. The service is great, the beer selection is amazing and there’s plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. People bring their dogs while sitting outside. There’s a janky bike rack but I just put my bike to the side of the tables unlocked. Meh. There’s virtually no parking for cars though, be prepared! They accept card and cash, too even if you’re buying just a pint o’ beer. They have food too — pizza — but I haven’t had any yet. It’s a little cart just outside which is pretty cool. I have yet to get a growler filled. When I do, I will update my review!

I have never even heard of this place but a friend suggested it for a cool place to grab a pint together and they were right! When I went up to order I asked the bar tender how long they had been open because it seemed so mysterious and he laughed and said 3 years. Then he made a joke about the amount they have spent on advertising which I am guessing was very little. They have a phenomenal beer selection and this is a great place for beer experts and non alike. I love the super casual atmosphere. It is not super trendy — just all about the beer. I guess they usually have a pizza cart outside that you can order from(and that was one reason my friend suggested it)…and nd for some reason it wasn’t there on a Friday night. That is the reason for 4 stars. Perhaps you could call ahead if you are looking for food too to make sure pizza is available.

I like my beer but I’m no beer snob and the one thing that turns me off to bottle shops is trying to ask questions to the emloyees and getting a few eye rolls. I’ve been to uptown several times and have always been impressed with the service and laid back attitude of those working behind the counter. They have a great selection of bottled beer and a fairly small but still good draft choices. 2x points for the food carts that regularly park out front for a quick bite to eat as you get your growler filled. This is also one of the few bottle shops in this area of portland!

Super friendly and chill upon entering. Of course, an amazing bottle selection had me walking at a snail’s pace down the aisles. Friendly clerk, offered assistance and input. Busy enough… People in and out while I enjoyed my delicious pint. Knowledgeable staff… Not surprising but satisfying. Comfortable environment. If i lived on the west side I’d come often.

This place surprised me. A few friends had mentioned it a number of times, so I finally made a point to stop in. Outstanding selection of beers and ciders. Pretty mediocre selection of wines. Great rotating taps. Food carts periodically park themselves outside so you can grab a bite to eat as well. The best part is that they are extremely well-priced. I have been to many a bar, bottle shop, beer garden, etc. and Uptown definitely sits in the top 3 for prices. It can be as little as $ 10 for a growler fill(depending on the day and beer). I saw bottles as low as $ 1.45 and I believe my pints were ~$ 4. Highly recommended if you’re in the area. If you’re closer to Lake Oswego, a new shop like this has opened up(and is still growing/developing) called FlyBoy. Also recommended.

I’m so «J“ealous when it comes to groovy things PDX has. They excel in urban planning, green initiatives, community activism & revering beer on a spiritual level. This neighborhood bottling store is a home brewers sanctuary with refrigerated hops, equipment & of course not all work stuff but play. Therefore available brews on tap, chilled(or not) for immediate consumption, complete with outside bench tables. Selection is ample as I was able to find my once hometown Salzburg bier Stiegl, ja genau das ist ausgesichnicht! Wine selection was darn decent. Friendly & helpful staff. Outside looks like a divey liquor store, but don’t let that stop you as inside has the liquid goods you’re looking for. «J» I certainly am as I’d roll the red carpet if this popped up in my neck of the woods, seriously! And as if this wasn’t enough there’s a guy in the parking lot that makes incredible pizza in his brick oven trailer. Pizza and beer? Don’t even start!
