20 years ago this place opened and was excellent. Primarily because the pizza as different than the typical cheese and meat pizza you would find anywhere and everywhere. They had previously unheard of lamb and blue cheese and artichoke and at least a dozen other weird and wonderful toppings. And it was good. And service was good. And super fresh. Oh they still have many of those same ingredients. But the freshness not. The service not. The last time we ate here we hoped for the last time that maybe things had turned around. But sadly no. The whole garlic cloves were so old and bitter I couldn’t finish one piece. People who work here are not happy and it is reflected in the service. They haven’t ruined the beer so one star for that. But with all the great pizza spots around why bother with this place.

Was my favorite pizza in portland. The spinach and prosciutto pizza had no equal. Very sad to see it closed :(

Apparently I never reviewed this place. Best pizza in Portland. Hands down. I just drove by and see that it is now closed. SAD.

The boyfriend ended up getting food poisoning here and we spent the night in the ER… if you were wondering we haven’t been back since!

Vincente’s has recently been bought out and they are about to go through a remodel, so when my fiancée and I ate here for lunch yesterday(New Year’s Eve 2014), the waitress opened with«we are out of a lot of stuff. Like a lot.» I was nervous! We ended up ordering a large half pepperoni/half hawaiian pizza. It was priced at $ 25! Daaaaaaaamn! We also ordered a medium Caesar salad to split. The Caesar salad was iceburg lettuce, crisp yes but not satisfying, with a shit ton of tangy caesar dressing and some croutons. Not impressive, especially for $ 7. When we got the pizza, it was pretty large. It had lots of toppings and was piping hot. The pizza was pretty good! My fiancée did not like the grilled red and bell pepper on his hawaiian pizza. The pepperoni was solid, but not mind blowing(i.e. not worth $ 25 for a basic pepperoni/hawaiian). The service was also great! Our waitress was friendly and polite. She explained about the buy-out and why they had limited options. She said they will re-open as Blackbird Pizza. It was the price that left me not wanting to come back as well as the salad. I would have much rather had a by-the-slice option.

The good news: Good beer specials, bar toys for the kiddos, pinball, nice staff, football on TV, and crisp peperonis on your pizza. The bad news: Soggy pizza. Too much sauce and cheese for such a thin crust makes it into a pizza mush. Don’t get me wrong, I still finished the pizza, but at $ 14.00 for a medium pie, it was a bit pricy for the quality.

This is one of our go-to pizza places. We happened upon it during lunch and were not disappointed. Great quick service. We sat at the bar and ordered slices and pints, which were not overpriced. Ambience is typical pizza joint– casual, a little funky. Staff are friendly but not pushy or intrusive. The pizza is solid. We usually just get whatever slices they have available(they usually offer three kinds of slices per day). On Sundays they have Session beer bottles for $ 1.50. Great place.

Grunge Pizza? Yes, but on top ot that it is nice, friendly place that serves a good slice with good service. The crust is thin and very crispy. It tastes like the oven needs cleaning but there is something grungy and good about that. Try the special — red onion, spinach and tomato.

Why does this pizza consistently taste like cinnamon or nutmeg? Not into that. The Sicilian-style around the corner at Hot Lips is so, so much better. Just make sure you get the Sicilian-style. And use a coupon.

Real good service, fast, beautiful place, nice people, organized, clean. I always feel super good when coming here. The pizza here is different than anywhere else I’ve ever been. Super good.

Always good pie here, well over a dozen times never a bad slice or pie. Good beer selection at decent prices. Still one of the best in se.

I’ve been driving by Vicente’s for the last 10 years and finally found the time and opportunity to check the place out — after a movie at the theater next door. I thought the bar — which you enter on the corner — was it, but it’s much bigger and continues on to the Winking Toad, where they have an upstairs billiard room. For a pizza/Italian joint, there’s a lot going on. For the sports enthusiast, they had the game on. For a beer lover(me) they had plenty of good beers on tap. For the hungry patron, they had a fantastic«Daily special» slice of spinach and feta cheese pizza by the slice. My brother ordered a slice, but IO got my hands on it, so he had to order another. For the drunk idiot that was hassling our very cool bartender, there is a pool table upstairs. This is a very unique restaurant and bar, totally suited for the Hawthorne neighborhood. It’s also the perfect place to go before or after a movie at Cinema Magic, a half block up.

This pizza joint is a truly local fixture on hawthorne blvd. I’ve been eating this pizza for years and the quality is always there. Great ingredients, tasty crust and fabulous salads. My favorite salad is the spinach salad with a spicy honey mustard dressing and feta cheese. Very addictive!

They have a full bar and good beer choices very limited wine for an Italian place. The wait staff forgot us and the food was very very late and we didn’t even get water refills. At the end, the staff made up with a free round of drinks, but the mood was broken and people were very frustrated having to sit around and wait for everyone to be served.

This place gives you the quintessential Portland experience. Open late, you can show up for a tasty, cheesy bite and enjoy one of the dark booths at the bar. You can get pizza by the slice here, which has a great crust. Also, a simple salad with sweet poppyseed dressing is quite addictive. It’s not a 20-item salad constructed from rocket science, but all the vegetables are crisp and fresh. This place is whimsical with lots of clutters decoration and bar paraphernalia. If the lights were on brighter, I’m not sure of it’s cleanliness on the inside, but sometimes things are just better with the lights out.

I chose this place to dine at thanks to a recommendation from a co-worker and brought my family here. I was delighted by my experience and the pizza was excellent. We ordered a half-and-half of two different kinds of pizza, and went with the Cordon Bleu and their Pepperoni Classico. Both pizzas were great, and now I just have to try them all. Vincentes also has a lot of beer options, making this a fantastic place to indulge on the worlds greatest combo of pizza and beer(yes, it is better than milk and Oreos). Oh, and definitely order the breadsticks. You won’t regret it!

Every time that I come here, the service is super slow and it takes forever to order something. That could be a small thing as people get busy at times. Apart from that, everytime I get anything I get a side order of ATTITUDE from the waiter or cook. Never have I not. Food and drinks get slammed on the table and their facial expressions are always something like«i hate you». They have not once given me good service, and it seems to be the same case as with a lot of other people. When a female friend comes along, no such thing. Theres good and friendly service to her. Apart from all the bad attitude, they also love to mess up my order. Making me pay double and for others. Instead of this place, go to barly mills nearby. Good friendly, and fast service, unlike this place…

Two words, spicy thai. One day my boyfriend and I were so hungry we called our order in walked over and our pizza was served to us BEFORE our beers got to the table.

Lots of beer options and really interesting pizza choices. Tried two kinds of pizza. The BBQ chicken one was AMAZING. The other one wasn’t great, but still okay. Prices were good, and service was great. Giant space, with tons of different areas to sit. Cool off the radar place, I’ll be back.
