pretty good pizza. the pizzas are personal sized, meaning one person gets one pizza. i shared a pizza with my friend, and half of the pizza made me full. although, my other friends looked dissatisfied sharing their pizzas with each other. if you have a small appetite, half of one pizza should work for you; otherwise, get yourself a full pizza. i judge pizzas by how closely they resemble italian pizzas. the pizzas were pretty close to the ones from italy, but they had a faint… soapy taste? that makes the taste sound worse than it actually is… it’s very faint, it’s the taste on the crust. aside from that, the pizza was PRetty Good! the crust was crisp and the sparingly distributed ingredients(aside from the spinach which covered the entire pizza) fused very well together. the garlic breadsticks were slightly tasteless, but dipped in marinara appetizing nonetheless. this place has homemade sodas. those are fun. we got the cherry soda, which tasted like a mix of cherry soda and ginger-ale. it was good, my friend thought it was good too. my other friends also thought it was good, and preferred the cherry soda over the apple cider.

This is a must-visit for anybody who comes to P-town! Stone-oven-baked all the way! Decent pricing, choices for various diets and tap sodas made in-house. Open late! Great staff too. I also especially like how the seating area got redesigned and there’re two fire pits added now. Tip: All the seating is outside only so make sure you wear a proper attire ;)

Hot and delicious personal-sized pizzas made to order! My personal favorite is the boring-sounding but delectable marinara style, but I also really like the pepperoni. Pizzas are usually ready in about 5 – 10 minutes, during which time you can enjoy one of their awesome homemade sodas(try the Arnold Palmer). They also serve salads and breadsticks, which I personally haven’t tried, but I have seen other people order them and they look great!

Great service and the pizza was awesome too! Such a good option for wood fired pizza when you don’t feel like sitting in a restaurant. They also have many handmade sodas that I loved. Nice bonus. This will be a pizza go-to for me.

Excellent wood fired pizza. Made exactly as it should be, and reasonably priced. One pizza and one of their salads is a perfect meal for 2. Their salads are actually worth it too. Score that it’s usually open until at least 3am too. I only wish they had a few more varieties and veg options.

Came late at night hankering for some pizza, was not aware this place was a food cart pod but nonetheless ordered. The guy and girl working that night were super nice, I asked if I could do half and half and the guy said sure as long as what I ordered had the same sauce base. I waited about 8 mins and the pizza came in a nice compact box which was piping hot. It was so good I gulped it down before pics(it was that serious) my mom approved and she is very picky. This place surprised me, I think it’s way better than some other popular pizza joints. The crust is thin yet chewy and crunchy, the sauces made each bite juicy; toppings did not lack anything — this was pizza harmony. I shall return during the day time!

Great pizza! Had the Spinach & Mushroom, it was fresh and delicious. It was also ready in less than 15 minutes so we didn’t have to wait too long in the cold which is always a plus.

The best pizza in town! Margarita is my favorite. Great customer service and great staff. My week is incomplete if I don’t go visit the Hawthorne location. Great ambiance! Great Portland cart food experience!

Pyro Pizza uses great ingredients in putting together their pies, which are cooked in a massive wood-fired oven. It’s not like other pizzas, but if you want a light, fresh meal that’s bursting with flavor, it’s a good option. I ordered the fennel sausage, which has mozzarella, red onions, basil, and pork-fennel sausage. Pyro makes its own mozzarella, so as you’d expect, the cheese is the high point of the pizza. The sausage is good, but could use just a little more fennel. The crust is kind of mixed – I love how it has just the perfect amount of char, but at its thicker points, it doesn’t have the same airy lightness as it does in the main body of the pie. The sauce is pretty good, and melds nicely with the savory sausage and rich, gooey cheese. I’d generally describe it as the kind of pizza you get at fancier pizzerias, not specifically NYC or Chicago style, but not at all like the generic stuff you see at fast food joints, either. One pizza at Pyro is a small meal for one. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it’s nice that it’s not overwhelming or needlessly heavy, but on the other hand, I usually like my pizza to err on the side of sloppy, caloric glory. I’d recommend Pyro when you’re looking to share a snack with someone, but as a meal for one, I’d definitely recommend getting something to go with your pie, or at least not ordering it while ravenous. Pyro Pizza puts a lot of care into their pizzas, from the ingredients to the baking process. It shows. Come here to see the Portland spirit of making things better and fresher than they normally are applied to pizza.

Excellent pizza, friendly staff the Seppember was an awesome pizza. We actually went back for seconds on that one. Crispy crust and chewy on the inside. An Italian delight:) The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was bc as we were eating we noticed the two cooks taking a break and smoking cigarettes right out the back door. At least hide guys.

We stopped by Cartopia after a few hours at OMSI. We were hungry and craving pizza and maybe poutine. The menu here is pretty simple, a handful of pizzas with various delicious toppings. Over half of the truck is dedicated to a giant wood burning pizza oven, which is really neat. The night we visited there were 2 guys running the truck and at one point they had to stop taking orders because they were pretty swamped. We went with the pepperoni and the mushroom spinach. The guy warned us that it would be about 25 minutes, which was fine considering we were going to have poutine as an appetizer from the truck next door. After about 25 minutes they called us over to pick up our pizzas. The pepperoni was good and the meat had a little bit of heat to it. I liked the meat, but I wouldn’t necessarily think of it as pepperoni, it was interesting. I moved on to the mushroom spinach, which I barely got a piece of because my 2 year old ate 4 pieces of it! It was covered in mushrooms that were super tasty and had a ton of spinach on top. The spinach was fresh and hadn’t been cooked. I wish it had at least been put in the oven for a few minutes because it was just too much on top. The dough was great, a little charred on the outside, but really good. I was impressed with the quality considering it came from a truck! I know a few people have complained about the service, but we had a great experience. The guy at the counter was personable and friendly. I know where I’ll be coming next time I have a pizza craving!

Next to Potato Champion. They make fresh, hot out of a wood-fired oven. The wood-fired oven gives the pizza a unique taste and an amazing crust. We got the pepperoni one and it was really good but nothing amazing. The crispy crust and smoky flavor is definitely a hit. Next time, I should try their sodas!

First off I would like to state that I have been a long time dedicated customer with Pyro pizza and my one star review has nothing to do with the quality of the food. However, the quality of service that I experienced last night was on par with what I would expect in a prison cafeteria. From the second we approached it was obvious our cashier did not want to be there and that customer service was not a priority at all. After ordering our vegan pizza he noticeably rolled his eyes, and(unknowingly?) forgot to give my two dollars change. Upon asking for it he aggressively slammed two dollars on the counter. At which point I took one dollar back, leaving a dollar for tip(based on quality of food not service). He then swiftly swiped up the Dollar without a Thank You or any sort of appreciation. Again rolling his eyes in the process. Also neglecting to stamp my loyalty card in plain sight. The attitude continued as my sister placed her order. After completing the transaction she asked for a water cup. It was then he rudely stated«DON’T EVENTRYTOTAKETHESODA… I WILLKNOW» I was appalled that he would insinuate this. Disrespectful and out of line to say the least. Continuing on, when our Pizzas arrived we noticed none of them were in To-go boxes, something we specifically asked for. Bottom line I love Pyro Pizza but the owner needs to seriously revaluate his hiring standards for his current and future employees. As for me I would suggest making the extra drive to division and staying far away from the excessively aggressive and rude staff on Hawthorne.

PLEASEOPEN A BRICK-AND-MORTARLOCATION. PLEASE!!! I can’t believe I’m pleading, close to tears, over pizza. PIZZA! There are no words to describe how incredibly chewy, charred, and light the crust on this pizza is. And all from a food cart? Unbelievable. It’s the best thin crust pie in Portland. You can put me on the stand, in front of a grand jury, on that statement. I’d go to death row for this pizza. WOW. *standing ovation*

Awesome wood fired grill pizza. I am surprised I had not tried this pizza before. We had the fennel sausage pizza with some basil on it. We love thin crusts and wood fired grills, so the pizza crust was one of the best ones we have had recently. The pizza was not too heavy but still very tasty, and it was gone in no time. Homemade sodas: this place has wonderful homemade sodas, and you can taste all of them before you can choose which one you want. I loved the ginger ale and the lime one. But they also have vanilla and cola with other herbs in it. Definitely worth a try. We will be going back for more for sure.

I think I can safely say this is the best pizza I’ve ever had from a food truck, cart, stand or pod. The sausage & fennel($ 9) is just plain amazing. I don’t know how they crammed that pizza oven in there, but it’s working some serious culinary magic. As if that wasn’t enough, the soda fountain is also pretty cool; it’s a bunch of organic flavors that are all super interesting — organic cola, cherry phosphate, organic ginger — and they pair extremely well. I’m talking organic cherry cola here, people. If you’re famished, you can probably take down a whole pie yourself, but otherwise it’s fine to split between two people. Worst case, you can grab dessert from the crêpe truck across from Pyro. :-)
