Great service and solid equipment. Rented a touring bike and went for 30 miles around Portland. Great bike city.

Super nice folks running this place. We walked in to rent bikes without a reservation and we were happy to hear we could get a couple of bikes to tour the town. We rented Linus bikes with a basket so we could shop around Portland’s cute little nieghborhoods. They gave us a map and showed us the best bike routes. Honestly this was probably the best money we spent while visiting. We rode around town for 3 ir 4 hours and rented a lock so we could walk around too. Great time!

We loved our rental! We rented two bikes with a trailer for our kids. We did a two hour rental and rode down the bike path by the water to the aerial tram, rode that, and then biked back. It was a great addition to our vacation. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. The prices were very reasonable. We would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you!

We rented a pair of bikes to do the 22 mi loop down spring water trail through cart landia up the i205 trail and back up through tabor. The hybrid bikes from Waterfront bicycles did the trick!

We were on vacation in Oregon for the first time and rented a pair of touring bikes with panniers from Waterfront and they were extremely helpful and kind. They showed us how to get around town and which roads to avoid while going out to wine country. At first, I was unimpressed with the Fuji touring bikes because they looked very unassuming, but they were excellent and a couple thirty mile trips proved me wrong.
Next time I’m in Portland, this will be my first stop followed very shortly by Hopworks.

Very friendly place with good bikes! They took the time to adjust the seats for my friend and I, and had reasonable prices.
We rented the bikes and rode them for about two hours. For the locks, helmets, and commuter bikes, the total was just under $ 15. :)

I love this place! Rented a bike and an iBert safe-​T-​seat and it was great. As far as I know they are the only place in the city that rents out the iBerts. Super friendly and it’s family owned and operated which is nice. Great location too.

We rented bikes this afternoon and even though it was only a few hours before closing the staff was extremely friendly and very efficient. We were quickly out the door enjoyed our couple of hours. Upon returning they checked us in and check us out speedily. They even held our Saturday market packages while we were out biking. The bikes were in good shape, we had no problem and we really enjoyed our time!

Pretty good rental place; tho a bit pricey, but that seemed to be the market rate for Portland. Convenient location and were provided with maps.
The girl what worked there wasn’t too enthusiastic to serve us. Most other bike shops I’ve been to would help us adjust seats and make sure we’re comfortable, she did not. She gave us our bikes and a local stranger helped us adjust our seats.

Stefan and crew were so helpful in matching us with a great bike rental. We loved our experience and loved the retro bikes. Felt like I was in Paris: D

Great rental place, at really low prices. Everyone who works their was super helpful and friendly, and they definitely wanted to give us the best bike riding experience possible. Pretty conveniently located, too.

The people at Waterfront Bicycle were very helpful in ways that they didn’t even need to be. I was in state on vacation for about nine days and needed a rear rack for the bike I was borrowing from a friend, as well as a helmet. I stopped in here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised when they rented me each item and installed the rack for a *very* reasonable price. They were exhausted because of so many people coming in to rent/​fix bikes the day I went in, which happened to be the day before Bridge Pedal. But they were nothing short of accommodating, friendly, and engaging. It was really a fantastic experience and I am thankful to them for making it possible for me to ride the coast (I needed the rear rack to store my tent) from Astoria to Florence without having to purchase things I only needed for nine days.

We’re visiting from Chico ca and thought we’d ride around the river. What a great ride and beautiful town! Waterfront bicycle has a great location and John (I think is his name) was very helpful and seemed like a great guy. We didn’t work too much with him because the young man in there is pretty green and John was trying to help him while John was still taking care of other customers.
Gotta shake out them bugs kid, not much there to learn so learn and be CONFIDENT!

We rented bikes for a week long ride while we stayed in Portland. Very early on in a casual ride with a large group I popped a flat for no particular reason. We took the bike to a bike shop only to discover that the tire was old and busted and totally worn through. The rest of the tire was also in pretty bad shape.
As it was after hours for Waterfront Bikes and so I could ride back home I had the tire replaced, hoping Waterfront Bikes would reimburse me for the cost — about 30 $. We were already spending 100 $ for a 4 day rental, after all.
When we returned the bikes, having carried the flat tire around so that we could show them the tire that was clearly not a result of my biking, a female employee proceed to accuse us of «riding over trolley tracks» and that it was our fault. She then proceed to point to the contract that stated that we were responsible for the equipment.
After further confusing conversations with her and presumably the owner about what to do about the situation we left. We later called back and they agreed to credit us 15 aka half the cost of the tire. I still haven’t received any credit.
This stuff often happens with bike rentals and it sucks for everyone, but what I experience was bad and rude customer service plain and simple.

I admit, if my bike was a living entity, it would have me tried, arrested and convicted on 10 counts of cruel labor… I ride My Bike Out, load the milkcrate to the edge of glory and bungee cord everything in place.
That said, the guy at Waterfront Bicycle rebuilt my back hub and got the whole bike back to running like Butta! (with my thick New York accent, Butta!)
Friendly, clean, nice place, reasonably price.

Rented Bike for 2 people for 2 hours on 08÷04÷12 from here, simply after reading all the reviews posted. We got there late, around 4 and they closed at 6. But it worked fine because it was 100+ that day and 2 hours was enough bike riding.
What was great was it was fast, friendly service, got 2 bikes quickly, helmets (locks if wanted) all for $ 9 an hour each! Killer Deal! Especially since you are 15 feet from the Waterfront itself. We crossed the street, hopped on and off we went!
Bikes were in great shape, worked fine, no issues. We had a wonderful time, after we finished, returned them, only took 5 minutes to run the CC and off we went! So simply and easy, would definitely rent again if I am in the area!!!

This morning we were riding along towing our new trailer and I was dying — hey man, kids are heavy… even when you have a trailer that allows them to pedal too. So we switched bikes around, with my husband riding my girlie cruiser — complete with cute basket. Though hilarious, it wasn’t exactly comfortable for anyone.
I remembered Waterfront and thought, ‘Hey, let’s stop and see if they can fit it with a quick release so we can switch the trailer to the other bike!” Two different people came out — one a sales person, the second a repair tech. In about five minutes we had the seat off, assessed that the manufacturer had welded the collar to the post and a new quick release collar wasn’t going to be an option… at least not quickly. Or in the time frame acceptable to an eleven and five year old.
There was no charge to us, everyone was ridiculously nice, and the tech was super apologetic that he couldn’t get it done for us. He was even nice enough to adjust the seat so my husband could ride the girlie bike better.
Great selection of gear, accessories, fun tees — the Chewbacca and Storm Troopers on bikes are not to be missed! — for such a small shop.
Overall verdict? We will for sure be back for services to our bikes!

Waterfront Bicycles is great for a place that caters to tourists. The sales associates are very patient and helpful (be a little wary, though, of that bike map they give you — the first time here I ended up in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood across the river!) and the pricing is not bad, especially if you do day rentals.
This last trip I had a bit of an accident on my bike — the front tire on my cycle got caught in a streetcar track (that dangerous, silent enemy of unwary bicyclists!) and not only did I make a fool of myself trying to stay on my bike and avoid falling into traffic, I ended up with a nasty gash on my leg! Well, while relating this incident upon returning my bike, the sales associate was definitely more concerned about any damage to the bike than any damage to me.
Have a heart for your repeat customers, Waterfront!

In between running around town enjoying good grub and delighting in the Oregon Brewers Festival, my fiancé and I decided to rent some bikes to enjoy some spectacularly sunny views on the waterfront.
They gave us really nice bikes, and the locks were included. Not knowing which way was the best way, they laid out a map and guided us on a bike-​friendly route. It was such a great way to see the city, and we were able to stop and smell the roses from time to time.
For two adults and two hours we paid $ 34. They took our reservation the day before, so we didn’t worry about the crowds Saturday morning. I highly recommend this great adventure!
