The spin classes are great. The machines are new and cleaned and maintained every night. The instructors are great.
The yoga studio is large and peaceful. Brittany is one of the best instructors I have found and spends time helping if you need it. The yoga for athletes class is a great workout and if you want to do a even better workout — do spin followed by yoga for athletes.
Love this place, better than anything we have in Scottsdale.

I took my first Spin class in years at YAS Fitness Center yesterday so needless to say I am a beginner. They could not have been more friendly and helpful with getting me set up and showing me the ropes prior to the class starting. The class was challenging and the instructor was great and enthusiastic! Excited to try the 30⁄30 Spin & Yoga class next! I definitely recommend.

Originally from LA, I found this place through ClassPass while traveling for work to Portland. I tried 2 other studios while in town that week and I really liked YAS Fitness Center. The style of workouts, the bikes, and the instructor were more to my preference and liking as well as what I was used to at my local LA spin studios. I went to the 30 minute high-​intensity spin class and let me tell you, 30 minutes was all I needed to thoroughly break a sweat.
When I am back in town, YAS, I am making you my go-​to spin gym :)

Great location, clean studio with new spin bikes, and super friendly staff. They also have a free 2-​week trial going on right now, which is such a great deal. Highly recommended.

Go here! My first time to YAS was my first time to a spin class ever. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. In fact, we called ahead of time to see how aggressive the classes were before we tried it out and Paige was super friendly about it, encouraging us to try it out.
Having come from NYC where everyone goes to flywheel or soul cycle known for their pretentious demeanor, the folks at YAS are the complete opposite.
I highly suggest Holly and Josh’s classes, they help you laugh through the pain. Holly keeps the room dark during the night classes which I love.
Lastly, the studio itself is awesome. Nice facilities and a giant garage door that they’ll open when it gets sweaty.

Full disclaimer — I am a yearly member at the YAS in Los Angeles but I had to check out this new beautiful studio. The space is gorgeous (and I work out at the flagship location in Venice). Very friendly staff — teachers have the same great energy. It is a brand so you know you are going to get a great workout and this place did not disappoint.
They rent shoes which is great in case you forget yours and water is free with a check-​in on Facebook. All in all — a great studio in a great location. I will be back next time work brings me to Portland!

I really wanted to like these guys! I loved how they incorporated both Yoga and spinning. However, what I noticed is that they are not nearly as good in the cycle classes like Burn Cycle in the Pearl. I did like the yoga, however, they are way overpriced based on the other studios in the Pearl. I would come back to just do yoga if they lowered their prices.

Absolutely love this studio! I’ve never been a fan of Yoga but I’m a changed woman. I love the mix of spin and yoga and always leave dripping in sweat with a clear head. What makes this place even more special is the people. You will never feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. No matter your size, ability, etc, everyone there is there to make you feel comfortable and give you a fun and effective workout. This is the only workout I’ve done that I know I will stick to and if you only have 30 minutes, you’re in luck! Tons of options! So glad I found YAS! Try it out! You will not regret it!

Great space, beautiful yoga room with plenty of natural light. If you are looking for a balanced workout with 30 minutes of serious cardio and a yoga routine after that leaves you feeling great try the 30⁄30 class. Brittany is a fantastic friendly motivating instructor. The yoga for athletes class is great for people who have intense cardio routines looking to stretch overly tight muscle groups.

Just did a yoga for athletes class that was 60 minutes long. It was a nice combination of poses that stretched and opened a lot of different parts of my body. I was expecting more of a strength building yoga and was pleasantly surprised to find a balanced class that focused on a lot of different stretches.
The space is open, quiet, well lit, and the temperature was just slightly heated, which allowed for some sweating and possibly deeper stretches.
I always wish that the music in a yoga class is more yoga focused and less of a mall /​pop music/​elevator soundtrack going on but I guess that is the trade off of a more exercised based yoga vs doing yoga from the heartland.
Nice teacher (Brittney) and a nice space. I’m looking forward to trying out their cycling class and their cycling/​yoga class

I love yoga and am new to spin classes. This gym has found an amazing way to combine both for a kick ass spin workout followed by a challenging stretch out through yoga — all in a one hour workout! I leave the class feeling refreshed and confident that I got a good workout and as well as the amazing mind body benefits of yoga. The instructors are very friendly and motivating as well, which definitely helps to keep you motivated throughout the class. I highly recommend at least checking this place out, they offer some great deals.

I am getting such a great workout here! It’s pretty brilliant to have 30 minutes of spinning combined with 30 minutes of Yoga. The best of both worlds!!!
The yoga studio is a beautiful space and the spin bikes are sweet!

Took Jordan’s 45 minute spin and it was amazing! He has so much energy and great music — happy to see him and YAS in Portland. Can’t wait to take a signature 30⁄30 (½ spin ½ yoga) this weekend!

I came here twice during the free week promotion of August 2015. I took a POWER 30 class and a Yoga for Athletes (1 hour) class.
Both were basically the same yoga class, one 30 minutes and one 1 hour. The space is cool and the staff is super friendly. And the classes were free, so I can’t complain too much.
My overall feedback is that I feel that the classes are a bit falsely advertised. Calling a class POWER30 when it’s really a beginner’s yoga class seems a little off base. And calling Yoga for Athletes makes me expect we’ll work hard. I would recommend this class to someone who is new to yoga… not much of a challenge. Nice stretches but naming conventions are a bit off/​misleading. I did not take the spin or other classes, but my advice would be to rename a little bit. However, I appreciate the friendly staff and clean space!

Great concept! I applaud and agree with the other reviewers on YAS. It is a great way to treat yourself to a healthy workout and have fun while doing it.
I’d like to review on the facility itself as I wish I’d had a bit more info as well. The place is HUGE — perfect spin room and the yoga studio is spot on perfect. I see a lot of wasted space here and am curious on their thought process for the design.
There is only ONE shower and one changing room. There are three bathrooms which is nice — however if your idea is to call this place your home you’ll need to bathe elsewhere. The mornings are perfect for me to get my activity done before work and there are great times here for spin and yoga if you have the time. I was super excited about this gym and can get past the ridiculous pricing but am completely turned off for the lack of space to get ready in the morning. Not for me, but if I lived closer to get ready at home in the morning Id sign up in a heart beat!

Been coming to YAS before they officially opened after my wife was invited. I’d never done a spin class before but was intrigued by the «YAS Class» which is a combination of 25 minutes of spin and 25 minutes of yoga. It’s a great introduction to spin and I’ve moved on to the full length spin classes. The yoga class offered right now, «Yoga for Athletes» focuses on strength and endurance, not balance, though a balance class will be offered soon. It’s a really nice space, the instructors are awesome, helpful and friendly too and the vibe is really chill and unpretentious. Oh yeah, the classes have paid off as I shaved over 5 minutes off my 10K time after including YAS in my training (more YAS than running, in fact) and my legs felt noticeably stronger as I ran.

After being an avid YAS-​er during my time in Los Angeles, I was STOKED to see a studio in my new hometown. I stopped in during their open house, and was greeted by the most welcoming studio team.
Meredith is the sweetest manager, and is always so helpful — my husband’s spin shoe binding was loose, and she quickly offered to fix it while we took a yoga class. Sabrina has awesome upbeat energy, and Brittany and Bri are my favorite go-​to instructors when I need to sleep in on Sunday. I can’t wait to take classes with the rest of the crew (and love it when Kim and Sherri, the founding owners, stop by to teach when they are in town).
I really enjoy how the Yoga classes complement my training regiment by focusing on stretching and strengthening my body. I am usually way too lazy to do those moves on my own! As a non-​yogi, I appreciate how the woo-​woo vibe and chanting is completely absent from their practice.
If dance-​based workouts aren’t for you, give YAS Spin a try. As much as I enjoy a banging playlist, I’ve never found myself coordinated enough to dance around on my bike. I find the combination of hill climbs, sprints, «YAS Jumps» and riding out of the saddle along with each instructor’s awesome music picks to completely satisfy my desire to rock out.
I HIGHLY recommend you check out YAS, I guarantee that you will have a blast, score a rockin’ bod, and feel amazing. I’ll see you in class!

Great Combo of strength, endurance and flexibility with a crescendo after spin and a nice relaxing zen finish.
If you’re in the Portland area, YAS is a must try!
