Love Ride PDX! Such a welcoming group of people who all want to work hard. Also you can keep track of your rides and see if you are improving or working as hard as last time. Between the numbers and the upbeat instructors, they give you lots of motivation to ride the best you can. Make your workouts count and meet great people!

I LOVE this place. I never thought I’d like spinning, but gave it a try, as the first ride is free. I’ve been coming for about two months now and can’t say enough positive things.
Every teacher is awesome. Andrea, the owner, is always helpful and also an amazing teacher. The music is great, the energy is inspiring, and the studio is super clean. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been and had no idea I could reach this level of endurance. It’s also super helpful and motivating to be able to track your results from one ride to the next.
I’m moving away in a few months and I really don’t know what I’ll do without my weekly dose of RidePDX!

There are very few places in Portland that can match what it means to have a true Indoor Cycling Studio, and RidePDX is it! Granted, they do bring in some moves from spinning, but what sets them apart is their ultiaztion of Performance IQ.
We forget that performance is sometimes just as important as the ride itself, and RidePDX brings it. I love the fact that I can see how many miles I rode, and what my average heart rate is, or what my estimated calorie burn is. If I ulize this data (which I do) it makes a difference on my next ride, and it makes a difference on how I perform, either in my running or riding. Let me tell you… I plan to bring the hammer this summer on any outdoor event that I sign up with, because RidePDX can deliver exactly what I am looking for: performance meet indoor cycling.
Ellie is a strong instructor, and her inspiration and motivation is contangious; she commands that room. No offense to Firebrand or Revocycle, but they really don’t match up to RidePDX in my book. Keep up your amazing work, but once in a while, play some hard rock music!

This was the best investment I could have done for myself: my mind and body have completely transformed. I’m happier, healthier and way more motivated then I’ve ever been. Instructor/​owner Andrea and Whitney (instructor) have been nothing short of inspiring and enpowering. I’m always greeted by a super warm, friendly and highly motivating Mariela, who helps me begin my 6A rides with a huge smile. I would highly highly recommend this spin studio if you want to make some big positive changes in your life! Well done RidePdx!

Boutique spin studio on the South Waterfront. Great location. I recently moved to PDX and was looking for a spin class replacement and this place knocks it out of the park! Online bike reservation up to two weeks in advance is awesome. Performance tracking is a huge bonus for me. Instructors are amazing, each with a slightly different approach that yields the same sweaty mess. Andrea, the owner, is very motivational. I swear Ellie used to be the lead singer in a rock band with her anthem voice and Whitney is just plain awesome. They will all kick your ass!

Challenging workout just a few steps from home. Great for keeping up on the latest music. Glad they keep adding more classes.

I adore RidePDX.
First of all: the cleanliness. As a gym-​goer, I really appreciate Ride’s significantly higher standards for clean surroundings and equipment compared to typical gyms. This is huge for me as a self-​admitted germ (and bad smell)-phobe.
Second of all: There are no weak links in the instructors! I think at this point I’ve taken classes from everyone at Ride and each time I’ve been challenged, motviated and laughed at least three times during the course of the class.
Third of all: Love the data tracking. I don’t feel as motivated by competing against others, but competing against myself? Yep, I’ll pedal the heck out of the bike. I practically run home to check my numbers every time – love it!

Really cool vibes! Loved the music — load and motivating. The instructor was upbeat and engaged with the class. The set up is also like no other class I’ve taken — black lights, intimate space, and cool enough temperature wise that you could really push to the end.

I have never been a group fitness kind of person, and I honestly never thought I would take «spin» classes. However, RidePDX has been amazing! The staff are incredibly welcoming, not to mention knowledgeable and in many ways encouraging and motivational. I haven’t had a workout as good as RidePDX since I played collegiate Rugby. Going to Ride has been getting me back in shape, and I actually find myself wanting to go to the fun yet challenging classes. The studio is immaculate, and the facilities are state of the art. I love that the bikes track your power and their performance metrics give me benchmarks to keep pushing myself to work harder every class I attend.
I highly recommend checking it out. Riders of all skill levels and physical fitness levels do just fine, and the there is always a diverse group of clients making up the classes ranging all across the board in age, fitness and gender. Any of the instructors are awesome! Andrea and Whitney are super fun, Ellie is a motivational force to be reckoned with and Jessiah will straight-​up whip your a$$ into shape.

Amazing instructors, awesome music and motivation to work hard! The community here is great, they get to know you by name and I particularly love that you can track your performance over time.

RIdePDX was a ton of fun! I came here for the first time with a friend who comes often (you’re first class is free!), and it was a blast! The black light gives it a cool atmosphere, there are plenty of fans to keep it well ventilated, and the TV screens make it such a interactive experience for everyone. I really enjoyed how the class was divided into different competitive segments. First, you’re competing with yourself to keep your RPM, power, and energy levels up as high as possible. Second, it’s about teamwork and the rows are competing against each other to keep the numbers up high. Then we all are competing together to reach a certain goal in a short amount of time. It’s so addicting! You’re accountable for the quality of your workout, and you have all the necessary tools to make it the best. I highly recommend giving this place a shot!

Love love love ridepdx! I’m partial because it’s so conveniently located for peeps at OHSU so it makes it nearly impossible not to get to classes during the week. The instructors are awesome and everyone has their own personal style. I love being able to receive real time feedback of how I’m doing in class so I can determine the extent to which I push myself. It is a great workout and I don’t think anyone could leave disappointed. First ride free is an added bonus!

I started going last June/​July and I’ve brought at least 4 new friends who happen to be non-​cyclists. Encouraging and supportive atmosphere for a whole range of people — from curious to pro. Free first class is a great incentive too!

I love going to Ridepdx! Not only is it a happy, warm, and uplifting environment at Ride but the workout is amazing! I feel so accomplished after each ride and all of the instructors are awesome!
My first class was a free ride and I’ve been hooked since! The great playlists and motivating instructors keep the class pumped up and ready to work.

This place definitely feels like a little community, little doggie running around after class, a birthday party– there are for sure a population of regulars.
Pros:
–An excellent workout
–Great neighborhood (inconvenient for me, but very safe)
–Stocked bathrooms in case you forget an essential like a hair tie
–I like that they turn the lights off/​blacklight
–Progress monitors and stat tracking made me more competitive, really nice equipment
–Reserved bikes
Cons:
–Pay for parking, pay for shoe rental-it’s cheap, but still an added expense
–Small room, too many bikes. You literally have to limbo to get to and from your bike. Zero personal space. I wondered what would have happened if I had needed to leave (one of the rules is that you are supposed to remain on your bike until the end, but suppose there was a claustrophobia-​related emergency?)
–Ventilation; so hot, I felt like I couldn’t breathe even on nights I wasn’t trying that hard.15 people huffing and puffing, working out to the max+tiny room= Asphyxiation.
–Loud. Really loud and yelly. I couldn’t understand the motivational speaking over the already super-​loud music. I don’t really need motivational yelling anyway…
Would I go again? Absolutely. Is it my preferred? No.

I love this spin studio! It is an amazing workout and I love the overall feel of the studio. The bikes are awesome and even have a tracking system that shows on the screen in the front of the room (you can opt out if you want too). It’s fun because you can see your progress during class and also between classes. I can’t wait to go to more classes and would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great workout!

Was in town from San Francisco and found this gem right here on Unilocal.Loved that they had a first free class. The studio was new and sleek. Bikes were great and there was a great community feel – regular riders had definitely submitted song requests, which is a nice touch (granted that rider has a good taste in music.).
While I really enjoy the performance tracker aspect to see how I’m doing, it’s hard to encourage riders to stay on beat with a monitor like this. Do you go for the RPM of the rhythm or the fastest RPM you can go to get to the top of the leaderboard? At the end of the day, I chose to go with rhythm (used to be a synchronized swimmer so I’m kind of hardwired to go with the rhythm…).
Misc. notes: I like that they let the room get warm to boost the sweat factor. Personally, I hate being cool when I’m working so hard – I want to sweat it out! That being said, I also appreciate that they keep the room dark. No one needs to see each other in that state.

Whoa, what a workout! I took advantage of the free ride plus I love to try new spin spots. This one was much different than most, which I have tried most (if not all) in the Portland area and some in the Bay area:
Pros:
— First class free with free rental spin shoes
— Hot instructor (Jessiah, wow!)
— Nice staff!
— Bikes were above average
— Spin rental shoes were easy to walk in
— Cool (temperature, cool) spin room (see con as well)
— Stadium seating
— You can reserve your bike online
— Necessities in bathrooms like hair ties and spray deodorant
Cons:
— Tough ride, I consider myself an advanced rider since I go to spin 2−3x a week and this was a tough ride, meaning I could hardly get through it.
— The routine seemed like sprint, hill, sprint, hill… Lets mix it up please
— also a lot of sitting, I rather be up and out of the saddle.
— No arm workout but one song. No triceps dips on the handlebars or arm workout during actually spinning of your legs.
— The room got hot real quick, maybe not enough fans?
— Ok, the performance tracker is nice but I feel like it can’t be accurate. I had to have burned more than 465 calories! I was dripping sweat.
Side note: It seems if you don’t have the resistance completely turned up, you won’t place high in stats. Some people had super sticky legs during sprints. WHAT?
— There is a timer on the TVs to see how much time is left. Remove that RidePDX, ASAP!
— Bikes are close together and close to podium
— Spin shoes felt like they kept slipping
–Asks for your weight online so they can track your performance
— Seemed like kind of a yuppy crowd
All and all, I like my spin studio better but this was worth a shot since it was free. Good location too, we went to brunch after that was within walking distance.
I would say give it shot and see. It was definitely a good workout, I was a sweaty mess. I think wherever you start spinning is what you are going to like and get used to. I started somewhere else so I am used to more arms and more dancing to the beat of the song with rhythm. This place wasn’t like that. To each their own!

There are so many reasons why I love this place. Let me break it down for you…
The instructors: Young, energetic, motivational, and upbeat. They’re constantly pushing you without being pushy. They make sure to accommodate the beginners in every class, which I’m sure is greatly appreciated by the newbies. The music is always different and always upbeat, which makes each class that much more enjoyable.
The classes: The classes are challenging, but fun. You know what to expect in each class — lots of action, in and out of the saddle, weights and up-​hills, etc. — but yet they somehow mix it up just enough that it doesn’t feel repetitive. An added bonus is the fact that they track your progress and send you emails giving you a play-​by-​play of how you did and even compares your previous classes– definitely some cutting-​edge stuff going on here.
The studio: Very clean, smell free and friendly. There’s even an adorable little dog that greets you when you arrive. The staff is always very nice and helpful. The bikes are clip-​in only, but this didn’t deter me, since renting shoes is easy and cheap.
The location: Well I’m a little bias towards this one because I live a block away, however, the location is still awesome. There’s plenty of parking around or it’s a short streetcar ride away.
Thumbs up for this place– I’ll definitely keep up my membership for as long as I live in the waterfront area.
