We found this wonderful place through Unilocal and decided to stop for breakfast. Unilocal wins again! The first thing to notice when entering is how clean and well maintained it is. Very classy looking for a café. The menu is very extensive with many European foods, thus the name. Be prepared to spend a lot of time looking it over and then good luck making a decision as to what to order. If you are lucky your waitress might be a most delightful young lady named Sydney. She patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions about the various items on the menu. We ordered too much for the two of us to eat but wanted to try so many new items and it was well worth it as everything we ordered was so yummy. I’m certain the locals know about this gem and I heartily recommend it to anyone driving near when its meal time.

I am not sure how all of the Old European restaurants are associated, but as frequent patrons of the OE in north Spokane, my wife and I were decidedly impressed with the Post Falls location. We met with some family members there this weekend and enjoyed some great food, and even more impressive service. Our server(I wish I knew her name) was one of the best I have experienced in a long time. She was friendly, funny, and very attentive. She even brought a selection of Aebelskivers(some sweet, some savory) in addition to what we had already ordered. The food was plentiful and delicious and a good value. I couldn’t think of a single way to improve our dining experience. It’s not often we are in the Post Falls area for breakfast, but when we are, this will be our restaurant of choice.

I have frequented Old European for years and use to LOVE it. The past few years the service and quality of the product has dropped substantially. I am sorry to say the last two times I went I was served something that was beginning to rot and have since decided to save my time, money and palate for a better experience. Looking toward to trying them again when I am brave enough.

This is a MUSTGOTO place. What an amazing place for breakfast. The food was wonderful. Very friendly and informative staff, clean, real homemade food prepared daily, fresh squeezed orange juice. They also give you complimentary items on the menu for first time guests and a $ 5.00 gift card for your next visit. We will be back when we are in this area. We are full time RVers.

Good food but not happy about waitress telling us that our Goulash comes with a side while ordering then when our bill arrived it cost extra for the side. It’s overpriced for what you get.

Great atmosphere, great attitude, great food, great service! What else is there there to say! I think I might like the Swedish crepes better than French toast(my life long favorite) Buckwheat pancakes a surprising new pleasure. You have to try this place

If you haven’t tried a Danish Aebelskiver, you need to get here today and try one. And then try their homemade raspberry jam. And the potato pancake. We found the Pullman location just by happenstance, and then we came to this location the following day. Dad has declared this the best breakfast and brunch place ever. High praise! He even stopped the owner to talk to him and tell him how awesome the Scandinavian Cake Plate was that we ordered.(It’s the perfect way to try several things!) Be sure to let the server know if you’re new.

Good quality breakfast! I wish their prices were a bit more reasonable but that will not stop me from continuing to patronize this establishment. Potato pancakes, yes please! Goulash… yum!

Why do we come here every time we are in town? Why are they popular and commonly busy? Because it’s worth it. The food, the service, and the themes.

Go for the pastries! The abelskivers, pancakes, & crepes are really good! The egg dishes(I had the Hungarian goulash) are just ok. And the fresh squeezed on & lemonade are quite good.

This is a great place for a good breakfast(and I assume lunch or dinner) they have most of the regular American food items as well as numerous European options if you want to add something new to your breakfast dining experience.

I really love this place. The service is always friendly, and the menu has many great options for breakfast. I’ve not tried the lunch menu, but my husband most recently got the Monte Cristo sandwich and liked it. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Scandinavian Cake Plate which included a German potato pancake(with applesauce), the buttermilk hot cakes, 3 Danish aebelskivers and a strawberry Swedish crêpe. I also added the blackberry brandy syrup on the side. My favorite of the group was the Danish aebelskivers. They were very tasty with the bb syrup! My folks got the Austrian coffee which I tasted but I’m not a coffee fan. Was sweet with a foaming head on it. I always make a point to stop here when I’m in town and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Family run restaurant with«old European recipes» how fun!!! Everything is fresh and takes some time but it’s so worth it. Even the coffee tastes better. May I recommend the Austrian caramel or even the salted caramel. The flavored whip cream on top(with nutmeg spices) will just melt in your mouth. Our server was super friendly and very knowledgeable on the menu and products. Helped us understand just what it was we were ordering… afterall I have never had an abelskievers lol but for the record they are amazing and I will order them again. They are like balls of pancake batter stuffed with sausage and havarti cheese yuuumm! You won’t want to miss out.

Unique, delicious, excellent service! First review but have enjoyed and highly depended on many reviews. At first glance is just seems like a typical, if very clean, breakfast joint. But the exceptional service and unique European menu was such a tasty treat :) the meat and cheese Danish Aebelskivers are fantastic!

I just cant get enough of the Old European. Ive been here a half dozen times now and always leave happy and full. Its a nice, clean, and comfortable little family joint with super friendly staff that have always been great. Menu has a lot of options, but noteworthy is the Hungarian Goulash, DELICIOUS! Its a giant portion of breakfast heaven. Complimented on my last visit with a side of biscuits and gravy, that were also very good, made for an enormous breakfast that my Fiancée and I shared. Now the ebelskivers, my god you MUST have them! They’re like delicious little pancake balls with either fruit or stuffed with sausage. The sausage is all I ever have and are a true fat kid’s delight. The Old Euro’s got a customer for life out of me long as they keep the Ebelskiver’s rollin!

Trying a new breakfast place on a Sunday is something I would not normally do but today I made an exception and am glad that I did… I had a very simple 2 egg and bacon breakfast with a side of their biscuits and gravy… Eggs were slightly undercooked but not bad, bacon was perfect and the HOMEMADE biscuits with HOMEMADE country gravy(on the side) was worth writing home about! The server, Britney, knew the menu like the back if her hand and brought out a little HOMEMADE raspberry jam:-) the man enjoyed the chicken fried steak with blueberry ableskivers(sp?) and ITWASPHENOMENAL! All and all I would return in a heartbeat.

While traveling through Idaho for work we stumbled upon this cute little diner. I was excited for the french press coffee and the traditional Aebelskivers. The coffee did not disappoint. We ended up ordering the traditional goulash and potato pancakes, which was plenty big enough to share between my boyfriend and myself. Our server Dafni was cheerful and helpful. The potato pancakes were tasty as was the goulash. I watched what everyone else was being served and it all looked homemade and high quality. I somewhat regret not getting the stuffed French Toast. Overall, a great breakfast spot.

Quaint breakfast with a menu that’s fun to read with lots of stories. Portions were large and hardy. Our waiter Heather, was enthusiastic and offered good advice in what to try. She also brought us a cinnamon roll to share and at the end gave us a $ 5 off coupon in a cute little envelope. I had the Hungarian Goulash skillet which was huge, tasty and satisfying. It came with a selection of pan cakes, I chose the Buckwheat which was disappointing. It was dry and had the taste of a bad bran muffin. It needed some added flavors and moisture like adding in apple sauce to the mix. Other than this everything was good that our party ordered. This is the kind of place you’d want to come every week for a leisurely and filling breakfast with attentive service.
