Love salsas!!! Burritos are delicious and the drinks will surely quench your thirst ;). Great place to relax before work. Never a disappointment.

I was in the mood for tex-mex so stopped in here on a Friday evening. It was a bad sign when the place was almost entirely empty. The food was honestly not good at all– the enchiladas were flavorless. Chips and salsa were terrible also. If you want good Mexican food, look elsewhere.

Very slow and inaccurate service, weak\bad drinks, and stale chips that you have to pay for. Asked for new chips, got a mix of stale and fresh. My carne asada burrito was not bad, but she didn’t put sour cream and guacamole in it like I asked. Our other order was a burrito with no jalapeños. They put jalapeños on it. also slowly freezing to death. Would not recommend to anyone.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Feels like home cooking, and they treat you like family. You cannot beat their lunch special which includes an app and desert! I love seeing locally owned family restaurants like salsas in our area.

Sadly, my final time at this place. Food has declined a bit and service is abysmal. Walked in for lunch, place was empty. Not one other person. Showed the waitress our coupon up front as we sat down. She says ok. We order, food comes. Chips and salsa very good, tasty, has a nice kick too it — a bit on the watery side. Husband had a veggie chimichanga, which he said was just ok. My burrito which was supposed to have rice, beans, pork, peppers was 70% rice, 30% pork(which was tasty). I found 2 pieces of pepper and 2 small peas, maybe those were the beans? It was certainly filling, but rather unremarkable. No lettuce or tomato on the side. No salsa, sauce. Nada. And it came out wrapped in foil on a plate, which seemed odd bc we were dining in. Here’s where the issue arises. We try to pay and use the coupon. Waitress says she needs to call the manager. Manager makes us wait a good 10 minutes. I’m getting impatient. I stand up and look toward the back. I hear the waitress and someone in the kitchen taking turns calling her name. This happens at least three more times. At this point I’m seriously thinking of walking out. She finally comes out and says she won’t accept the coupon. This is AFTER we showed it earlier and AFTER we have eaten. First she says she won’t take an electronic coupon, it has to be printed(which isn’t the case). Then she changes her story, and says she doesn’t accept them at all anymore and is no longer in the program. Then announced that her prices are already low enough. A quick search on the coupon website proved this to be false bc they are still listed as a participating restaurant. I don’t have an issue with paying full price– but the way they handled it was very rude and unprofessional. We paid the bill and I informed the manager we would not be back — Adiós Maria! ;) There are much better Mexican places in the area, where the food is better and we are made to feel welcome and our business is appreciated. They are :Café Maya :La Cabinita :Molé Molé :El Azteca

Initially, service was ok and the guac was good for the appetizer. We ordered a taco salad and a steak fajita salad. Both meats tasted and smelled like they were old or just reheated. We expressed our concerns and apologized for not being able to eat it(not picky eaters). Never once did the waitress apologize or ask if we wanted to try something different. She brought a raw piece of steak to our table to show us it wasn’t old, and then just quietly told us the manager took them off of our check-again not apologizing. Customer service and food prep needs major work.

Used to love this place but they must be under new management. Found a hair in the food, margaritas were straight up tequila and very unenjoyable. Service was sub par.

This place is one of those places that looks beautiful, the decoration is good and the food is delicious. The only 2 down sides of this place is that to be a great Mexican restaurant u have to play Mexican or Spanish music and they play a local radio station. And the food is a little bit over price compared to other Mexican restaurants around the area

After reading many negative reviews, hubby and I decided to go give this place a try anyway, just because sometimes the ones we went to have really good reviews but turn out to be so so. Food: Husband ordered the Gyro Burrito, he loves it. I thought it has too much rice and it is not covered with melted cheese. I ordered from their special menu, which comes with app, entrée, and desert. I got the guacamole, steak fajitas, and flan. Guacamole was really small, but being from the special menu, it was okay. Then my entrée came, waiters brought out the sizzling plate, which half the plate was filled with rice, and the other half were pieces of overcooked steak and peppers, 2 fajitas, and most importantly NO shredded CHEESE, NOSOURCREAM, NOBEANS, none of the stuffs that’s supposed to be a part of fajitas were there. My question was, how do you supposed to call it fajitas if it doesn’t come with all the ingredients that makes it fajitas? Then when I asked how come it doesn’t come with the stuffs mentioned above, our server said because it’s from the specials menu, everything is smaller portion and it doesn’t come with all the extras. And she doesn’t know why the owner didn’t mention it to us when we were ordering. Service: Only 1 server to do seating, serving, and busing which means slow service. We also found out the owner is Greek, that why there are Greek selection! We probably won’t return. But you should give it a fair sjot yourself.

It sits in a strip mall, but manages to rise above that. The interior is pretty standard tex-mex décor, but the food is very solid. Free chips and salsa when you walk in are a nice touch. Staff is very friendly, and the food is good, though mildly over priced. The tamales and quesadillas are my favorites. Beware, service here is very very slow.

We have been going to Salsa since the restaurant has opened and love everything about it. The food is delicious, fresh and home made. Never disappointing. If one of their ingredients is your favorite you can always ask for extra and they are glad to accomodate. Dishes are prepared when ordered. Portions are plenty and the price is right. Everyone of the staff is pleasant and welcoming. When the weather is nice, there is seating outside which we really enjoy. Try it, you will really like it!

So it seemed as if these folks really don’t receive much business and I can see why. It’s cinco de mayo and these guys have 96.1 radio station outside and they won’t even embrace there cultural celebration… So we walk inside and it’s just a boring ambiance, we ask the waitress who seemed really nice, why the radio station was outside and her response was«I don’t really know why«lol so after looking at the menu and realizing that they really don’t have much of a selection we decided to leave and head over to café maya in wapingers who is having a celebration! Won’t be patronizing this place again

Warm greeting by the Chef, as I walked in for dinner after getting a personal recommendation to try this place. Service was slightly slow as was the business so it didn’t make sense. But after ordering my obligatory house margarita($ 5.00)(which is quite good — BTW), I had to ASK about chips and salsa. OMG. Seriously? I have apparently found a new policy here and the only Mexican place on the planet that doesn’t serve complimentary chips and salsa. Oh yeah — I forgot to mention, when I did ask about chips and salsa, I was told«you can add it as a side, or it’s a $ 20 minimum purchase to get them free.» Double ewe tea eff!!! Yep. And she meant it. So I convinced her I would eat and drink $ 20 worth. When she brought them, I received a very small serving of chips and about a literal 2 – 3 tablespoons of salsa in a small ramekin. Pathetic. Three minutes later, I was asking for more. So dinner was rushed to the table(I guess you could say ‘great fast service’, but I thought it was way too quick. I ordered the Combination Mexicana($ 10.50), which is 1 cheese enchilada, 1 tostada, and 1 ground beef taco served with Mexican rice. Now, I like to consider myself a foodie, and I adore Mexican food, but so many places miss the boat, because the are afraid to be bold with their flavors, and Salsa Restaurant lived up to this bland description. The red sauce on the enchilada resembled terrible ketchup. The taco was mediocre, as was the tostada. The only mentionables was some really good guacamole and perfectly cooked rice. About 1⁄3 the way into my dinner plate, my waitress says, «How is everything… you want me to just bring the check?» I coughed and said«Um no… I don’t think I’m quite ready yet.»(Since I also needed another margarita to hit my $ 20 minimum). So let me share some thoughts, as my way to rescue this establishment: 1) Free chips and salsa like ever other Mexican restaurant. 2) Hire a real waitress 3) For the love of all things spicy — if you’re gonna name the place«Salsa», then make some damn good salsa. Maybe offer some choices! 4) Be bold and serve bold flavors! 5) For a great alternative, try the Spicy Mexican Diner!

This is a modest, family-run restaurant where the owners try to learn the customers’ names and preferences. The food is fresh, delicious and authentic and prepared from family recipes. But if you have American tastes you won’t be disappointed. The menu offers plenty of: tacos, enchiladas and burritos, all served with rice and a choice of black or refried beans. You can order simple salads to accompany your meal or homemade soups. I enjoyed discovering a traditional Mexican chicken soup, which was comforting and perfect on a cold day. I also tried a Mexican soda and was delighted with the fruit flavor. The Margaritas are the best I have ever tasted. They even offer chicken nuggets for the kids. The atmosphere is very casual and I noticed that the owners make an effort to visit each table. Not a fancy place, just a very nice one.

Not what I was expecting from what I had read in the previous reviews. I would say this is maybe a step up from taco bell. The service was good and the waitress was very friendly and observant. She suggested the chicken quesadilla for an appetizer so we got it. It was about the same thing I could make in my own kitchen. Pretty sure they used frozen chicken that wasn’t cooked all the way through. Once we got our meals it didn’t get much better. The rice was yellow. No visible seasonings– very bland. I got the combination with a chicken enchilada and chicken flauta. The flauta was delicious. The chicken was shredded and seemed to be fresher then that in the quesadilla. The enchilada was far less delicious with sauce that was not close to being made In house and probably the same as taco bell uses. All in all– i wouldn’t waste my time or money to ever go back.

This place is my go to Mexican restaurant! Free chips & salsa too start off a yummy and affordable meal. I always get the Al Pastor(pineapple pork) tacos. They have very friendly waitstaff and lots of different flavored margaritas(peach, strawberry, lime). My only comment would be that they could bump up the heat/spicyness factor. When we asked for some hot sauce, I was relieved they gave, what seemed to be, chipotle in adobo. Another good thing ab this place is their location. It’s located in the Price Chopper plaza on 9, not the seedy underbelly of PK.
