30 years ago, Sears was my «go to» store. There wasn’t anything you couldnt find there and they made quality merchandise. But in the last 10 years, EVERY single purchase I made from them had an issue. For example, a Craftsman Lawn mower that had to have major engine work, TWICE within the first 4 months of owning it. Then there was the outdoor patio set that started rusting at all the welded joints in only THREE weeks. I called customer service and the imbecile that answered told me to «bring the furniture inside». Can you believe that! Bring OUTDOOR furniture inside to stop it from rusting. There was also the Kenmore BBQ that took me 2 hours to assemble and when I went I was just about done, I went to put the grates on and they were TOOSMALL! I didnt disassemble it, I put it in my truck and took it back to the store for a full refund. Then I bought a Dunkirk $ 4400 gas fired furnace from them. #1, the sent me a furnace that was different than the one I ordered but I didnt know that and they installed it anyway. When it started working improperly(within the first season) is when I found it it was not the model I ordered. Then the second season the electronic motherboard wasnt working properly when the register called for heat. I called Sears and they sent over a tech to look at it and he said he didnt know much about«gas fired furnaces», he specialized in oil furnaces. But he looked at it anyway. That’s when it went from bad to worse. He somehow fried the motherboard and he KNEW he did but he never reconnected anything! He left all the wires dangling there and left the unit without any power to it at all! So I had no idea about the additional damage he caused. I finally called an outside HVAC contractor to look at it. He showed me the back of the motherboard and it looked like someone held a cigarette lighter to it. It was completely charred. Long story short, I had the outside contractor do the work and I threatened Sears with a lawsuit if they didnt reimburse me. They reimbursed me with the stipulation that I relieve them of any and all problems if they arose in the future. Sears doesnt give a rat’s ass about their customers and I will NEVER spend another dime in that dump

I wish I could give a nice review, as all the employees in the large appliance center are very nice. And if nice was all I wanted, as opposed to knowledgable and expedient, they would get 5 stars. Unfortunately they are very nice while being spectacularly uninformed. I ordered a refrigerator and they didn’t know anything about that model so it didn’t work in our home and then almost a month later we are still waiting for a replacement. When they tell the customers you have 30 days to return it what they really mean is they have 30 days to give a crap about your problem. Thus we have been refrigerator-less for almost a month now as one problem after another presents itself. But everyone’s super nice about being unhelpful.

Have recently purchased a microwave here after ours died. I was really impressed with the overall process of ordering online. We ordered, using a few coupons and since inventory listed the item in stock, we opted to pick it up at our local store. Once the order was confirmed, we received a separate email when it was ready for pickup, which turned out to be about an hour after placing the order. When we arrived, at the kiosk, we scanned the bar code from the email receipt and then the box was delivered. The store associate scanned our confirmation bar code again and voila, done! Total wait time was less than five minutes! I wouldn’t hesitate to order online and pick up at the store again. Such a time saver.

Do not buy appliances here. Made a big purchase and almost a month later, they have not been delivered. Quite possibly the worst customer experience I’ve ever experienced. Spoke to Kurt on the phone he was extremely unhelpful. Never again!

I recently used the«order on line» and pick up in the store service. They promise to get you your item within 5 minutes once you arrive. I was a little confused when I got there as to how to «claim» my item and there was no one around to help. I finally figured it out and watched the little TV screen that told me how long I was waiting. I guess they were having problems with my on line order because the clock stopped at 3:15 and no one came out. Eventually a nice employee walked by and told me that someone should be out shortly. I did finally get my item, and I guess they give out coupons if they take more than 5 minutes, so they asked me to wait(longer) while they found one, which they never did. I finally thanked the young man who came out and told him not to worry about it. It would probably be helpful if they got the ordering process straight, but I still prefer to order on line and pick it up versus hunting through the store searching for stuff.

Typical sears, the tool area seems larger than usual, which is right up my alley. The employees are all really friendly, and the location is good.

It’s rare that I go into this Sears for anything other than Kenmore appliances, jeans, and Land’s End clothes. The selection for these items is generally good. I often wonder why they have an electronics department, because I’m not really sure they are competitive in these areas with other stores in the Galleria Mall such as Best Buy and Target. Their automotive department is in a separate building on the other side of the Galleria access road, along with their auto service center. Otherwise no real complaints about the store. The employees are very friendly and helpful, though I have found it worth my time to do my homework on major appliances BEFORE coming in here to consider a big purchase.
