We love this place! We are always greeted immediately with a smile and a ‘Buenos Dias my friends’. Service is very fast with crispy warm chips, spicy salsa, and refried bean dip served up right away. Our go to order is Grande margarita and a combination crispy ground beef taco and cheese enchilada, but everything we have tried is delicious. The side orders of beans and rice are good too. This is a very family friendly place. Try it!

THE best Mexican food in the PNW! As a native from San Diego I have been searching for Mexican food reminiscent of home. Taqueria El Huarache is just that! Great flavor, amazing customer service and good value for the price. The quality is worth every cent. Don’t waste your time elsewhere this is the best Mexican you can get in the PNW.

They have lengua which is AWESOME, because that is hard to find. But the salsas that go with the tacos aren’t as good. 4 stars because it is hard to find lengua and the lengua is good, but lost a star because the salsas are not as good.

Hands down the best, tastiest and most authentic Mexican food in Kitsap County. I try to get something different every time I go, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. The Wet Chile Verde Burrito is amazing, so is their hortchata. Definitely our favorite date night spot. Reasonable prices and friendly staff. We will come back again and again!

I just moved to the area from San Diego and have been jonesing for an authentic California Burrito!!! Let alone, decent Mexican Food. There are a few places in the area that have these deliciously unhealthy French fry, carne Asada, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese creations… And all of them are sorely lacking. I was skeptical to try, but on the search none the less. This was a great burrito!!! The carne Asada was the best I’ve had since leaving SD. The atmosphere was fun and easy! The price was at first a little shocking… $ 11 bucks for a burrito??? But that burrito was massive! Seriously like 10 – 12 inches long. We could have shared instead of getting our own!!! The service was great! Very friendly and helpful! We will be back and look forward to trying other yummy options from their menu. You know when a Mexican restaurant has several Latino customers that they must be doing something right!!! Thanks you guys! We will definitely be back!

Looks like a hole in the wall, but step inside to a friendly greeting, beautiful reclaimed wood & bright colors on the inside. It’s much larger than it looks. The menu is pleasantly overwhelming with a wide variety of authentic Mexican foods. Hubby got chili Colorado and the meat was melt in your mouth tender… best I ever had and I grew up in Texas. My pollo was super tender & tasty as well. Be sure to ask for house salsas if you’re like me and want HOT. Such a wonderfully delicious dinner!

The house hot sauce is amazing, if you like a good kick. We came here for dinner and it looked like a little hole in the wall when we showed up outside. Once we made it inside it was super nice and cozy. The service was amazing… as normal. We loved out food! Even our picky daughter(super kids menu.) We will be coming here more often.

To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations for a Mexican restaurant in Poulsbo. But I learned my lesson! Taqueria El Huarache served up a delicious late lunch on a chilly Saturday afternoon. It doesn’t look like much from outside, located in the corner of a strip mall off of the main street. From inside, though, it’s colorful and brightly decorated, and you gotta love the GIGANTIC horns that dominate one wall as you walk in. They brought chips and salsa over as soon as we sat down, greeted us cordially, and checked in often. I thought the prices were a little high — most of the lunch choices were over $ 10. I had the daily special, which seemed to be the same thing as one of the appetizers: the white fish and shrimp ceviche with avocado and two tostadas($ 9.25). Despite being called an appetizer, the portion is definitely entrée-sized. I wasn’t that hungry and thought I would just get a snack, but I ended up devouring the whole thing plus half the chips! My dining companion had the four taco plate with rice and beans($ 10.95). He said the al pastor was good and the lengua(recommended by our server) was really good. Overall, a welcoming and friendly place with tasty food. If you’re in Poulsbo and craving Mexican food, this is a surprisingly good option!

Great food and great service. We’ve eaten here three times and the food and service is consistently above average. I grew up on the border in AZ and will say this is pretty close to authentic. The margaritas are yummy too.

Stopped for lunch with my mother in law… she is a small eater and was happy she could order a soft taco with shredded beef and it was… just right! I ordered the menudo… I’m a fanatic about menudo and this was authentic and delicious… I will come back next time I am in town!

Absolutely wonderful! Power outage all over the county, they had power. When we walked in with a group of 4 to order for 8 togo. Every table but 1 was full they still have smiles on their faces even though you know they have been slammed for hours. Excellent customer service and as always the food is fantastic. Real authentic Mexican food is hard to find but this place is the real deal. If i could give them 100 stars I would!

We stopped for a quick bite and the service was GREAT! Our food came quickly and we were able to get a to go box for the food we didn’t finish. The employees were friendly and helpful. I appreciated that I didn’t feel judged for sharing a meal and was kindly offered an extra plate. We ordered the vegetarian burrito and a kids meal. Both meals were very tasty and I was happy to spend less than $ 20 on the meals and drinks. I especially liked the chicken burrito!

What a great experience and a delightful surprise. We were given a coupon to try it and had a wonderful time. Restaurant is small but it is clean and decorated festively. Portions are a great size as well. The food was great. No complaints on what we had and service was exceptional. The staff made you feel right at home. We will definitely be back to try more options.

Date of service: Mar 20, 2015 Meal: Lunch, Eat in All Ratings out of 10: Quality of food: 7 Food to Spend Value: 8 Quality of Service: 7 Overall Rating: 7+ I was in the Poulsbo area and needed some lunch. Mexican sounded good, and this place had some pretty good reviews, so my brother in law and I decided to check it out. The first thing I noticed on the menu was how cheap the lunch specials were. I decided to go with Daniel’s Favorite Burrito, which was highlighted as being«For cheese lovers». It had chicken, refried beans, and cheese inside the flour tortilla, your choice of red or green sauce on top(I chose red) along with melted cheese and sour cream. It was quite large, filling the entire plate. It had a good flavor and was quite filling, and along with the chips and salsa, I was definitely full when I was done. My brother in law had the chicken enchiladas with green sauce, and he also enjoyed them. The place inside isn’t super big but has a surprising amount of room. The restaurant has a family owned atmosphere, with friendly service, and the prices are fantastic with huge portions. Good Mexican in the Pacific NW is hard to find, but Tauqeria El Harache fits the bill nicely. It isn’t as good as my favorite spot(Las Espuelas in MLT), but if I am in the Poulsbo area again there is a good chance I will stop by.

I had the Grilled Chicken Salad. It came just the way a fresh salad should be made. It had a sliced avacodo perfectly ripe and creamy, diced tomatoes, grilled seasoned chicken, peppers, and onions. Not too much or little of anything. It had a light oil dressing that allowed you to taste each bight of lettuce. The portion is huge, but matches the price. There is a TV in the back and music playing on speakers, but not distracting.

My kind of Mexican restaurant! Clean, simple but charming décor, Mexican music playing, tasty Mojitos, authentic dishes with VARIETY, and reasonable prices. Forget those others, this is the best Mexican food in town!

Food was just ok here nothing to rave about. We normally split a plate and we are used to much bigger portions for the price. We had a smothered beef burrito and it tasted very odd. My fiancé is from New Mexico and is used to authentic food and this was much different than the norm. We also didn’t like how they actually charged for chips and salsa and charged for an extra plate. This is not the standard in most Mexican restaurants. If it’s not complementary don’t offer it and actually let us know ahead of time! We are willing to pay for something we agreed to we found out they charged for the above items when the bill came. NOTCOOL! We did NOT like how this place nickle and dime people so we will not be returning. We have 3 other places to choose from in very close proximity. Our bill was 21.00 We had Just 1lunch plate special & a very small kids plate w 2 sodas It also includes the chips and salsa and extra plate they apparently decided to charge us the moon for We still tipped the gal 5.00 as we don’t feel that the wait staff is to blame for bad ownership decisions.
