This was our first visit to this pizza place. We like to support our small local business. My first impression was a cute small place with many different flavor of pizza. My second impression was while waiting for our take out pizza after ordering it… the customer service went horribly down hill. The people that order after us got their order before us and the people that worked their checked on people, only checked on people that had food and did not care about asking other customer. It takes less than a minute to ask how people are doing and to me it seem like they did not care to try and keep customer to come back. I have been to many other places in poway that are small business and all those places had amazing customer service. This impression does not make me want to come back here at all. The other thing that I found that bother me while waiting is the safety of the floor where you sit to eat your meal. The drain is exposed and wide open where little or big feet can get stuck and get hurt. It was so bad that I took a picture of it from the next table over. This place does not deserve any stars! I’m not a Unilocaler or do much reviews but this place had the worst customer service ever and they forget that there’s other small pizza places that everyone else can go too. After we finally got our pizzas the lady didn’t even care to say sorry for the wait or anything. She was the same lady who walked passed us like we are no body. I support local small business but this is one I will not due to how they treat new customer. BTW the pizza is ok, I got a cheese pizza for my daughter and it taste like the froze one from vons but with a better crust. Pizza rating is about a 3 star, customer service 0 star

Great pizza friendly service. They will make the pie anyway you want! Super fresh ingredients, the Decour is not much but the pizza is good. Good value and the owners are wonderful! Real NY style pies!

This is some of the best pie in town. It’s a bit inland but definitely on hidden gem watch here. In fact, I dunno if there’s any other place that has strombolis in all of north county! Have YOU ever had a stromboli? Maybe you should my friend. The name ‘stromboli’ sounds like a vulgar sex act, but it is in fact one of the best things to happen to italian culture since the Romans stopped feeding christians to lions. Think of it as an enormous hot pocket pizza pocket but twice as good(with rich stretchy mozzarella cheese) and doesn’t burn the shit out of your tongue. What I love about this place is not only the craft beer selection has depth and intelligence, but you can actually talk to the guy makin’ yer pie! He’ll talk to ya, paisan! Gripe: limited seating. A family of 15 Jersey-Shore clones showed up just before us for a 50’s sock-hop theme party dressed like awkward greasers and reserved every available space to sit,(even though most em where standing). This forced myself, my friend, and walk-in customers to enjoy their pie, ‘like, wherevah’. Meanwhile their numerous hell-spawn proceeded to infiltrate and destroy. I’m wondering why this was allowed? Or maybe these people were just friends of the owner? In the end though, all this is forgivable when you have pie this good by people who serve it with friendliness and care. Would definitely recommend.

review is based on the pepperoni pizza and garlic knots only. Both top notch. Especially the garlic knots. They are full of garlic and oils, super rich and delicious! Most knots are doughy with a hint of garic, but not these! Small place inside, better for small groups or to go, but it sounds like they are moving. Check it out.

Cash only? Is this 1990? I believe cutting out that convenience to a customer cuts out a lot of potential business quick. Not a lot of people carry cash anymore, for good reason, you don’t need to. Between debit cards, credit cards, visa gift cards, and Apple Pay, cash is only king when tipping a barista, bellmen, or others that you don’t have the opportunity to tip via card. Working locally, if I wanted to order pizza for a large group for business, they are the first ones out. The pizza is a step above Pizza Hut. The fact I have to remember to have cash means I will not be back. We ordered the Titan as well as a sausage, mushroom, onion and black olives. Not a ton of flavor in their sauce. Crust could have been crispier. Ingredients seemed to be fresh. There are too many pizza options in town that won’t require me to make an extra stop at a bank. For that reason, I won’t be back.

Sicilian Sicilian Sicilian– all the way! We went here based on a recommendation from a friend and we weren’t disappointed one bit. I’m a New Yorker, so finding good pizza in San Diego is a constant struggle. It’s family owned and run, small, and everyone, including the customers are very friendly. They have great beers on tap, and don’t expect to get pasta or other Italian dishes, they are strictly a pizza place. They have salad and some calzones and Stromboli, but that’s it! They are moving their location in the next two weeks– can’t wait to go to the new place! We’ve found ourselves coming here a few times a month! Definitely try it out!

Really really good pizza, strombolis etc. Fun to watch him make it right there in front of you. Alot of IPA’S on tap so being a light beer drinker kind of a bummer but none the less still a neat place. Call in your order if you can about 45 minutes ahead of time on weekend nights.

Hidden gem in Poway. Never knew it was here until Brewer told us about this place. Great pizza with beers on tap. Small place, original décor, open kitchen so you can see them making your pizza. The cheesy garlic knots are ridiculous! I had the Steve-O(pepperoni, bacon, pineapple, and jalapeño) My lover had D’Brewer(white pizza with meatball, ricotta, and pepperoni) Very chill spot with 3 TVs with sports on them, which is nice. Totally recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Husband wanted to go out for pizza since we didn’t have any plans to make something at home. I love that it’s a smaller place, and I fell in love the moment I heard Frank Sinatra being played. We ordered a small Titan(meatball, pepperoni, garlic, mushroom and ricotta) and a small Big Apple(pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, olives and onions). They were both spot on. The service was great, very attentive and nice. The guy who was working the counter and checking on was Jeff. Definitely gonna come back and try some of their other items!

My fiancé decided on this place for his birthday dinner last night. My navigation took my the longest way through canyons I didn’t know existed… however, we got there and ordered our pizza. We were able to try some beers on tap to decide on one, and ordered the 678 and garlic knots. Growing up on NY pizza it’s hard to beat, but this truly was amazing. I called my dad from Brooklyn immediately to rave about it and told him he had to come try it. Can’t wait to go back. Awesome staff, super cute chill place. Nothing fancy, simple and to the point.

Dude. This place is pretty awesome. First time going, called in a pick up order. A few regulars were there. This is one of the places you frequent and the owners will probably know you after a few times. I love how it’s just simple inside; no ceiling, etc. So the pizza. We ordered a personal«porky» and personal«678». First thing I noticed when I opened the box, was that the pizza was jacked up. It wasn’t perfectly circular. But this only means it’s truly handmade, with care. Not put into some mold. Each pizza is unique, like a snowflake. Like you and me. What? Back to the pizza. The 648 is a «white pie», no sauce. But olive oil, garlic, four cheeses, and basil. Oh and one of those cheeses is ricotta, which adds a creaminess to the crunch of the thin crust. Porkys, has the tomato sauce which you can tell the difference between this and a chain place. Also has pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. You can definitely taste the quality here too. And then… there were cheesy garlic knots. That’s all I need to say. Just hit ctr+f and search«cheesy garlic knots» for the verdict.(GETTHEM) The price isn’t all that much more than a chain place. I’ll happily return for the quality and also to support a local family business.

The venue is dark and dingy. The employees are bit shady. The hours are limited. WHOCARES. This is literally the best pizza in the city. There’s something about the sauce recipe that oh so perfectly captures the homemade flavor of a family pizza secret. This is doubly impressive for a New York style thin crust joint, of which good ones are tough to find anywhere. My absolute favorite is the Sonny’s Pizza. Make sure to look at all the chalkboard for a hidden gem. I’ve been known to eat whole pizzas from here before I can even get home. Forget Pizza Hut or any other chain. If you have any self-respect left, eat Coney Island’s Pizza.

Wanted to be adventurous and find a new pizza spot. I recall someone telling me about Coney Island Pizzeria. So… one rainy night… the boys and I went on a trek to find this venue. From outside, the place looks nothing spectacular — it was an old, dark shopping center with most of the stores close for the day. From the inside, again, the place looks nothing spectacular. Having a TV is a plus. Tee– hee! However, upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the staff and«seem to be» regulars. Instantly, I fell in love with this place. The regulars, who normally sit at the bar, started recommending which yummy beer to try. Yes, CIP has a great selection of beers & beers on tap. Also, they have a wide array of pizza flavors. Definitely a must visit if you want unique tasting quality pizza. Price isn’t too bad for the amount of food you get. The knots seem to be a fave for most customers. Pizza on!
